I got it for my fishing tool. Don’t use nearly all on it but it does just fine for every job I came across. Sturdy, sharp sizes and knife. overall great tool for me. 10/10
Great as always. Ha, you thought I was gone. I've got the original Suspension so I guess that obligates me to get one of these. You don't see a lot of multi-tool scissors that will cut much beyond paper, so that doesn't worry me. One of my own edc items is a small bandage shear, and they'll cut almost anything so scissors on my multi-tool aren't high up my priority list. Thanks Chris.
I figured you would turn up sooner or later 👍🏻😂. Now granted I edc a awesome folder, I was just a little disappointed in the scissors. Ones from a vitronox preform a hell of a lot better. But it is a nifty multi tool
I had one of these, the pliers had some wiggle and I bent the plier head, I think its good for light stuff and the screws would free spin but I'm just picky.
I’m actually carrying this tool right now. It’s a good basic entry level light duty EDC MT at an affordable price. I believe I got mine for around $25 on amazon a few months ago. I wish the Blade wasn’t serrated but that’s my personal preference. The #2 Phillips driver tool on here I absolutely love! It works perfectly. I also appreciate the spring loaded pliers. The scissors work great for my applications. Used them to open plastic clamshell containers a few times now. The pocket clip is a huge disappointment for me. I carry my blade in the right pocket and a MT in my left pocket. Well the pocket clip on the NXT isn’t reversible, so when I carry it in my left pocket it sets up high instead of seated at the seam. Which makes for an awkward carry for me when it feels like it’s always going to fall out. Tried witching pockets but I’m a creature of habit and gotta have the knife on my strong side lol. Tried clipping it in my back pocket but hated sitting on it lol. So now it’s belt carried with the pocket clip (1 month no issues yet). Now I just need to lay the funds down and get me a Leatherman Charge+ 😂
I do not know much about EDC I'm just getting into it and this is my first multi tool I genuinely think is an amazing tool I have not yet run into the problems previously stated but thank you for the heads up.
It just works in a lightweight package with no pinching and all outside opening all locking AND spring loaded - better than THE ORIGINAL WAVE which is still a legend. You can do real industrial work with a Suspension NXT and are more likely to with its price I find it more useable than any new gen wave and even the "most premium" a swisstool spirit X fidget spinner.
Just recieved one. Stiff tool opening, haven't oiled it yet, guess I could loosen the hex nuts. No saw, but you can use the serrations on the knife blade to cut notches. Punch awl reamer works well. Multi tools are not made to be outstanding at any one job, but made to get by doing many jobs.
They did some small tweaks to it. The only “ground breaking” thing I saw was the pocket clip. It’s not a bad tool, just gonna take some getting used to the pocket clip
@@Tctbnl I have the classic suspension. For me its pretty heavy for side carry, 10.2 ounces on the Gerber site. I don't use the fully serrated blade don't have a use for it except for small cordage. I prefer the 3D philips over the pressed philips but Its not a deal breaker at all. The wood/metal saw is a little on the small side, too small for pruning. I just ordered the newer NXT, waiting for it to arrive. Its slimmer, 6.7 ounces. slight bend in the handles to prevent skin and finger pinching. I like the addition of the awl and 3D philips, I like the fact they dropped the small saw. So respectfully, I think they're some significant improvements. The combine plain and serrated blade is a 2 in 1, saves space. The scissors, I only cut paper but I wish they were larger. The best scissors come with Victorinox. I LOVE my Swiss Champ. I do like the pocket clip as well. So I'm excited to get the NXT hopefully by the weekend.
I was surprised you did a review of a Gerber product 😁. Looks like a good multi-tool the only issue I have is the partial serrated blade. If I'm not mistaken I think this is going to be in this month's Battlbox not positive though. Hope you and the family have a great day.
I'm impressed how bad it performed and how tight the tools were, I mean must Gerber are pretty cool so I guess this one slipped down the cracks :/ to bad you got that one bro.
All good amigo. It was brand spanking new when I filmed that video. Gerber has a issue with “tightness” on a lot of things recently. Thanks for watching me amigo
@@Tctbnl Glad to know because it sucks getting a useless item, BTW Happy 4th of July, have an awesome independence day bro' quit answering youtube comments and go enjoy with the family hahaha . Keep rocking bro

Wow really awesome looking Gerber Multi-Tool!!! :D
It is kinda sexy ain’t it

Your gear, your right too be picky 👍

Thank you for sharing this brother. I loved the original suspension, this one is taking me a little getting used to for pocket placement as well.
Might try it in your right side back pocket. Not comfortable to sit on but I'm sure it would ride better.

Solid video. I got one about a week ago and I’m really enjoying it. My knife was a lot better than yours but I still like to sharpen mine regularly
Thank you brother, and I have brought the blade up to speed since the video 👍💯
Tctbnl I’m glad man! Keep up the good work!

Subscribed:) love the energy my man
Thank you brother
The way the blade had a curl on the edge, looks like its striking something when closing. I’d check for that. Maybe blade stopper is an issue?
Good info, lemme check
what do i do if i put all the toold up at once and its stuck now
tools*
Start slowly trying to close them one by one. If that dosent work contact Gerber customer support
Use mine for work - works great for me
I have always loved the suspension, I think the pocket clip takes it to the next level
@@Tctbnl Super handy 🤙

Very well said brother
I'm interested in the NXT but I wish it had a sheath. It does seem that the old Suspension was better from what I saw here though

I’ve been belt carrying mine for a month with the pocket clip with no issues, yet.

Just ordered one I think it's worth the money
Sweet!
Why not use the entire length of the blade for the ratchet strap cut
Never thought to do it that way, I just usually placed the ratchet strap on the blade and cut. Thanks for a different way to do it

I know right, we NEVER look at Gerber products 😂😂😂😂😂😂. And yup this is in this months Battlbox, figured I’d get a jump on the box and post this.
Better then nothing?! Got it as a gift. I’m a hard core Leatherman user.
👍💯
This is in the July Battlbox. Not sure what level. Your luck the basic.
If it’s basic, that would be a score. But I’m betting advanced
Pretty sure they’ve said it’s in the advance level
Thanks brother, that’s kinda what I thought as well
