This is honestly so amazing. I love that Banjo-kazooie is still getting so much love after all these years. I miss the childhood days when I played this game so much, but this more than hits that nostalgic spot.

I’ve had dreams about being in Grunthildas lair and discovering areas, this feels like a recreation of that dream 😄 I had so much fun with this game when I first got it 19 years ago
It was a game that teased us so much when it came out. The Stop n Swop. That one door that didn't open at the top of the tower. The final spell that Gruntilda threw at the end of BK (a mystery since solved, as originally that was meant to hit Banjo and Kazooie, and there was an extra quest to rescue them, controlling Tooty. Sadly, this was never finished). The fact that the massive Isle o' Hags was just through a hole at Spiral Mountain made you wonder what huge things were in the other direction. It felt like there was so much more to find.
I liked all those mysteries :) Let’s hope that Nintendo gets to release the ports of banjo kazooie and tooie they did 10 years ago were they fixed the stop n swop. But instead forget to connect them to nuts and bolts
We were teased a bit more because Rare gave in, and made the key and the eggs shown in the teaser you got at the end of BK, collectable in BT after it became apparent that SnS wouldn't work. It makes me wonder whether we were ever meant to know about the other eggs that weren't teased in the BK secret ending, and that they were just put in the game's code, just in case they thought of a way to implement them during the production of BT. We complain about the connection to Nuts n Bolts, but there may never have been an alternative. And just to be annoying, if you collect the eggs in the Xbox port of BT, you unlock 'Stop n Swop II', with an achievement called "Oh No, Not Again...", so now we await an explanation for those!
This is incredible! I wanna see something like this that uses Banjo Tooie's assets. One of the most underrated and overlooked games ever imo it's completely overshadowed by the first game. I just wanna see it get some love too 😭 lol

I've always thought the concept of going back into the lair in Banjo-Tooie post-game with your new moves and re-exploring old BK worlds sounded cool. Similar to going back to Kanto in Gen 2 Pokémon. This reminds me a bit about that idea, but making it its own game with just the BK moveset. The dev did great work on this rom hack!
This seems really cool but I prefer the interconnected nature of the way of the second game put things together. Like how certain worlds connected to the hub world and each other

thank you @Snooplax for making this video, and @Daveyx0 for making this rom hack. its refreshing to see such passion put into projects like these giving some well deserved love to classic games and characters!~ The hacked levels look great, but I feel its missing some puzzle aspects to it, to help the levels feel more engaging. The whole thing could use a good story to help pull it together to make it feel like you are doing something, other than just completing levels (then again, this is just a demo, so maybe all that is awaiting us for an official release?) Also, the levels seem to be a bit too big, as it would make replaying the levels tedious, but i wouldnt be able to resist making huge/ attempts at complex level designs for such a passion project, so in my opnion, that is forgiven! ;D oh, and i do music, and LOVE making gaming music if you @Daveyx0 could use extra help making some tracks, I WOULD LOVE TO HELP OUT, AND I WOULD DO IT FOR FREE!!

Did you even play either game? N&B was great and kept the same tone and fun gameplay as the previous two games. As much as I enjoyed YL, I'd argue that it was not as good as N&B.
Song Of Ourselves 100% both. N&B is a good game. But it is not a good BK game. If they made it with any other IP I’m all for it. Yooka Laylee has good music... that’s it. The charm and enemies were bland in comparison to both original BK titles.
I was on the fence about getting Rare Replay on my Xbox One but after seeing this im just gonna go ahead and buy it today, I remember getting Banjo Kazooie for my birthday when i was 8 years old definetly some strong Nostalgia feelings from watching this

It's neat that this was done, but saying it's as good as the originals is farfetched. Jiggies in BK and BT were earned by solving puzzles, utilizing all the moves, racing against timers, etc. All of the jiggies in this were earned just by climbing stuff using talon trot.
To be fair, this is the first level of the hack. And mumbos mountain had some very Complicated jiggies like "climb mumbos skull" and "climb a hill with talon trot", or even "climb a tower with the termite" (which is basically a super talon trot). So the romhack isn't entirely off brand for its first level
Not rares fault that they waited for Nintendo to pick them up but never did Microsoft ended up buying them off new staff implemented while the old staff left to make a new company and a little bit ago created the spiritual successor yokka & Laylee (sorry if I spelt it wrong ) that’s the short end of the story basically Now if you wanna actually put company’s that deserve to be in the bs and doing consumers wrong standpoint Activision should be put in the spotlight just saying

It’s a cool idea but it’s obvious this is pushing the engine to its limits and it needed more finesse with performance and connecting the textures to the right elevations with the terrain as you get the clipping or rendering issues.

They ported it to Xbox 360 and possible Xbox 1 awhile ago if you have either of those.
They released a collection of all of Rare's classic games on Xbox One called Rare Replay. It's 30 dollars, but has all of Rare's best games.

Ratungo You can, if you buy a N64 Everdrive. it's an equivalent of a USB designed to fit a N64. I think it goes for around $70 on eBay.
