- What might be one of the most convenient and easy to navigate international airports in the world, I had a really positive experience going from the city center to TPE Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Here's the experience of leaving Taiwan for Singapore.

In many places you can take regular public transport to an airport without surcharge, much cheaper than $5.
You are right but look at the quality and comfort of the train and metro . You are driving Mercedes and pay for Toyota car in Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand etc
I'm curious which cities you're referring to and how fast and easy it is to get to the airport from the city center by public transport? I know in places like London it's super expensive, and in NYC/SF it's a long, pain in the ass.
@@JohnnyFD Just some examples: airports of Dubai, Doha, Mexico City, Washington DC, Delhi have metro with a regular price. Even in places like London Heathrow or Paris Charles de Gaulle it's possible to take a regular bus towards the city, but this can be a long trip depending on destination. And it can be even better, in Boston there is a free bus from the airport to the downtown with free transfers on the subway 😂
@@LeonidAndronov You can catch bus to the airport in Sydney centre cost $2AUD, it take 1 hour bus ride. if you catch train , it cost $18 dollar. If you pay peanut , you get monkey. People like You learn absolutely nothing from travelling the world.
Safe trip! Cannot wait to see where you land in Europe…
I've actually done both, going to the Main station really is about the same but with more walking like you thought haha. If I had a lot of luggage and was flying Eva Air etc I'd probably do the bag check at the Main station and go that route. Did you get an easypass for the metro? Those cards are clutch to get around
Thanks for the insights! It's what I expected! But that's cool to know Eva Air has a in-city luggage check in at Taipei Main!
Yes, Vancouver Canada has a skytrain line. 26 mins to downtown, $6.77 USD. Return price is half the price or less depending on the day. I like how you love efficiency!
Bro how the hell did you all that🤣
San Diego Airport IS downtown and right off the freeway. They keep wanting to build one way out with a train to town and people keep saying NO! It’s just so handy the way it is.
San Diego is an exception as the airport is only 3 miles/5k away. It's fine to take a bus or Uber as it's such a short distance. Trains are useful for airports that are further away, as they don't get stuck in traffic, and times can be predictable. I wouldn't build it there either.
Hey Johnny I was in South Korea Visiting my Brother for a week and took The Ferry from Busan to Fukuoka Japan and am now Traveling Throughout Japan to visit friends I have not seen for a long time and hopefully do some Drifting!! Have a Safe Trip Home!!!
we are somehow following each other's route again. my last meal in tpe was dry noodles and gong wan soup. But I go Singapore to Frankfurt not Paris, it was like $400
I love being in a country where things are efficient and affordable.. Looks like Taipei fits the bill... Thank you Johnny for sharing your adventures 🤙🤙🤙
You need to carry a mask, A stinky Tofu at night market very bad, you never find anywhere in the world. It stay in your memory for weeks.
@@VanTran-ne4yf I've heard about this... curious to sample the smell... believe it tastes a lot better than what it smells.. 🤔
Yes, Paris has an RER train to Charles de Gaulle airport, and soon it will have subway Ligne 14 going to Orly airport.
You are absolutely right about the new Istanbul airport needing more moving walkways.
Had issues connecting Wi-Fi even in the Miles and Smiles lounge in IST. You’d have to download a Turkish phone number. My T-Mobile data didn’t really work in Türkiye and this was 2021
Johnny don’t be cheap you got money you could’ve gone Business Class from Changi. Please upload more recent videos as this was over a month old

Next video: The delights of Singapore airport!
Wya now @JohnnyFD? You posted when landing at Singapore airport 23 hours ago so I'm thinking you are in the air again! Hope Singapore airport was comfortable.
No one can judge you -- go where your heart is. All the best.
(Ironically Taiwan is mine).
Johnny, another awesome adventure. Thanks for taking us along with you and your family! Now it is time for some rest and relaxation. Tax refund? For the next Q&A, could you explain what all that is about (don't understand), what you have to do to get one, and is that something you have to do in every country you visit?
I think it means if you’re not a citizen of the country you get back all the taxes you paid for stuff.
Yes, sales tax(VAT in Europe). You need to have proper receipts and have the things with you when you're leaving the country, unused in original packaging. If you are wearing those sneakers you just bought, you get nada.
P.S. US and Canada don't give any refunds.
Good to know about the unused goods. I wasn't asked to see the box luckily.
its like watching a promotional for Taiwan transport and Airpor procedures 🤣
Honestly I wish other countries would watch this video and plan their airports the same way. Places like Turkey's IST could had saved $12 billion by just copying Taiwan.
Johnny, haven't watched for a while. Glad you were able to visit with your family. I am glad you've not abandoned Ukraine!
I had excellent accommodations and service on EVA air.
22 hour layover in Singerz?! Ah, I'd LOVE that... Funny, ppl view long layovers as dreadful. I love them...especially get out and explore for a few hours
From Heathrow to downtown London only costs about $7 if you take the Piccadilly Line.
or $2 if you take a bus 😂
Salt Lake City has light rail from city to airport
Improve longevity with an improved body mass index (BMI).
That's a shame you'll only be in Singapore for 22 hours. It's such a beautiful place with great food and many nice places to see. I'm afraid I would have to "miss" my connection for at least a week.
I could spend a few days in their airport.😊
The country so hot and humid, you cant walk on the street during day time. People saying beautipful? The Changi Airport building parkland and water fountain inside the airport . Tourist travel to another country not to sit in the airport looking at parkland and birds? They want comfort, convenience, enjoyment, relax ready for the next flight . A stupid concept from Singaporean people then show off to the world.
Yay, you finally found the watch and it's perfect that your Mom's lucky gift bought you time...Loved your family vacation! Safe travels and please be careful as they reported chemical use from the bastards...Slava Ukraine
Yes! Thank you!
They also have the tax refunds at the malls too! Not only at the train stations. And for the transfer to mrt airport they are about the same haha. You might save a bit of time with beimen since most people go to tpe station and you’re right ITS BIG and lots of walking to get to airport mrt in the tpe station vs beimen
Johnny on the move....Always cool to watch.
Been on those long layovers also. No fun. Safe travels Johnny
Carbohydrates great to increase BMI. I prefer vegetables and proteins for a lower BMI.
BMI is a controversial measure.
I went from obese to overweight to a normal range BMI. I’m functioning much better at a normal BMI
I like doing a few exercises: - -> balancing on one foot, hand wrist grip strength, squats, lunges, bicycle crunch, leg flutter / scissors, bird dog, planks, shoulders, deep squats, and laying on thoracic roller under back to straighten posture / spine. Lymphatic drainage. And swimming at the YMCA.
Cool watch Johnny. Do you do much scuba diving these days?
Yes, a lot actually!
Nice one! Love it
Nice clean trains and stations
Thanks! I'm still here on a budget. What's the next adventure?
Hey thanks Ohms! I'll be making my way through Greece with a short sidetrip to see my cousin and eventually back to Ukraine. Stay tuned!
When you landed in Gatwick you should never take the Gatwick express as it's a rip off. There is an alternative. Great video as usual.
i click like is my comment thanks for your work
Thanks for liking!
this guy is always complaining for every little things
And you’re not?😅
Don’t watch then!!
Depends what your standards you have and you used to.
And we love it 😂
None better at it than him 😮
If you had gone to the Main Station directly, you would have needed to walk less. If you had taken a taxi, it would've cost $30-$40 so if you have 3-4 people, it's not too bad. Never actually saw the terminal that you've been in. We always fly EVA. Enjoy Singapore!
I'll try the main station next time, I'm curious to see the distance. Maybe it's less, but might be more crowded. As for taxi, yes it's usually only worth it if you have 3+ people or if you don't travel light.
To answer your question: all main cities in the Netherlands are connected to the main airport by train. All the best with your trip to Kiev!!
Checking in in advance is common EVERYWHERE
American here living in Taiwan. Taiwan is honestly one of the cheapest countries with modern infrastructure to live in and the quality of life is very high. I think only Malaysia is comparable in this sense.
Bangkok would compare as well. To be honest I didn't like Malaysia's infrastructure. It looks good on paper, but in use, it wasn't great.
So glad to see you going back to Ukraine I like all your videos but your Ukrainian ones are my favorite I'm going to visit Kyiv in August.
I wish we had metro in VA. Man it sure takes a long time to get back home to Ukraine! Are going to take back your home and stay or get an air B&B.
Sweet Watch for sure am evious
Johny do you have to register for the Ukrainen army ,you being a permanent resident ,like to know what the go is.i know u do alot of fund raising an that's your position.
Hi, no, only male citizens need to register, but anyone can volunteer, even non-residents.
I enjoyed your Thailand and Taiwan vlogs so very much! I wish you would never go back to 🇺🇦 until all the crazy stops. Please be careful.
Have a safe & exciting trip JohnnyFD! Thanks for sharing all of your beautiful family adventures & experiences ❤️
Thanks for not sharing the emotional departure from family. This is sacred & personal.
Looking so much forward to your next adventures as you make your journey to beautiful Ukraine 🇺🇦❤️⭐️

I wish you would go back to Austria. I loved that video. At least Ukraine got their funding, so by the time you get back it should be better. Wish Ukraine would get those F-16’s soon. Stay Safe!
San Francisco, London, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Paris, Oslo, Sofia, Tel Aviv, Athens, and Dubai all have trains that connect the airport to downtown.
what about the quality and comfort of train in those countries? most of them tourist sitting in a rubbish truck.
I've done it in many of those cities and remembered it was always long, expensive, and a hassle. Taiwan has been the easiest and one of the cheapest by far.
London to Heathrow: 30 minutes, direct, £12.20 ($15.31)
SFO to Downtown SF: 1 Hour, 1 transfer, $13.55
Kuala Lumpur to KLIA: 1 Hour, direct, $11.60
Paris to Paris Airport: 45 minutes, direct: €11.80
Athens to Athens Airport: 1 hour, 1 transfer, €9
BKK to Bangkok: 1 Hour, 1 transfer, $1.50
I'm glad all of the above have options and are relatively affordable. Not as cheap as Taiwan and Bangkok, but still not too bad. Just long distance rides, which can be longer depending where in the city you're staying.
I love Taiwan and Singapore.
😎❤️🇹🇼‼️
Taiwan a small country with 24 million people but you never feel crowded like all other Asian countries. they are custom design by American architecture. People are spread out from North to South and people spread outside the city centre, the footpath 10 m wide in Taipei. The bad thing about Taiwan a stinky tofu , smell very very bad. You hardly see any smile on the street, people are depressed and stress. If you riding a rent bicycle around city, some shop owners kick you out, dont want you as bad as Viet nam. They think you are poor
It has anything to do with the bicycle itself, as plenty of people ride them in Taiwan. But if you come in all sweaty and smelly from a long ride, I can see them not wanting you in their shop.
@@JohnnyFD I travel there during winter season , cold . I wore nice jacket too. My time in Taipei, I saw many bad behavior and altitude from successful and rich people. A motorbike accident on the road, the traffic police standing there keep an eye on the accident scene. A women in her 40s well dress, properly a general manager or director of the corporation deliberately walk straight into the cop and push him out the way really hard. What do you think it going to happen if that in the US or western countries. she put under arrest and beat up or been shot.
Don't say anything bad about stinky tofu. JFD's Big Sister is watching us 😂 and she loves stinky tofu.
🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼👍👍👍
If u doing met tex with friends this summer can i pay and laugh? cant be there myself
Haha yes please! It would be fun. You can be there in spirit! =)
Safe travels back to wonderful Kyiv.
Last time i was in bulgaria, a one way Ticket from sofia to the airport was 0.8 Euro 🤙
Sweden has trains that run from the city to the airport. 🇸🇪
Glory to Ukraine 🇺🇦
And how many cities do you have? Just a friendly question 😂
Johnny watch game strong
Hey Johnny, I love your videos! But why did you say in an earlier video that Ukraine should give parts to Russia?
I never said that. Don’t make up lies.
Why are you supporting Al Jazeera?
What's wrong with Al Jazeera? I actually enjoy their non-western POV as it balances out the news we get from the West and from Asia.
@@JohnnyFD it’s plagued with issues.
Like?
I'm in the US and watch my news via BBC, Sky France 24, DW. It's good to see all positions and who's less bias
I watch those as well, especially DW, I like their reporting. Also it's unfortunate but in the US a lot of news channels have stopped reporting on Russia's attacks on Ukraine as Americans have gotten desensitized and now worry more about Gaza and Israel. Only local, Al Jazeera, and Indian news is still showing it.
Although the Indian news tends to show it to celebrate Russia's attacks on Ukraine unfortunately.
buy a taxfree cigarr, min prize 100 dollars and its for new year night
I don't smoke Cigars, but maybe a Whisky, would be good. =)
You should have just remained in Taipei with your parents. Ukraine is going to lose their war with Russia. At best they might seize some of Crimea. And San Francisco doesn’t have any affordable housing and is being sued by the U.S, Environmental Protection Agency for not having a working sewage system. If you can afford to you could invest in a cocoa farm in Taiwan.
user friendly=idiot proof
