  • What might be one of the most convenient and easy to navigate international airports in the world, I had a really positive experience going from the city center to TPE Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. Here's the experience of leaving Taiwan for Singapore.

    In many places you can take regular public transport to an airport without surcharge, much cheaper than $5.

      You are right but look at the quality and comfort of the train and metro . You are driving Mercedes and pay for Toyota car in Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand etc

      I'm curious which cities you're referring to and how fast and easy it is to get to the airport from the city center by public transport? I know in places like London it's super expensive, and in NYC/SF it's a long, pain in the ass.

    • @LeonidAndronov
      @LeonidAndronov 20 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      @@JohnnyFD Just some examples: airports of Dubai, Doha, Mexico City, Washington DC, Delhi have metro with a regular price. Even in places like London Heathrow or Paris Charles de Gaulle it's possible to take a regular bus towards the city, but this can be a long trip depending on destination. And it can be even better, in Boston there is a free bus from the airport to the downtown with free transfers on the subway 😂

      @@LeonidAndronov You can catch bus to the airport in Sydney centre cost $2AUD, it take 1 hour bus ride. if you catch train , it cost $18 dollar. If you pay peanut , you get monkey. People like You learn absolutely nothing from travelling the world.

    I've actually done both, going to the Main station really is about the same but with more walking like you thought haha. If I had a lot of luggage and was flying Eva Air etc I'd probably do the bag check at the Main station and go that route. Did you get an easypass for the metro? Those cards are clutch to get around

    San Diego Airport IS downtown and right off the freeway. They keep wanting to build one way out with a train to town and people keep saying NO! It’s just so handy the way it is.

    • @JohnnyFD
      @JohnnyFD  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      San Diego is an exception as the airport is only 3 miles/5k away. It's fine to take a bus or Uber as it's such a short distance. Trains are useful for airports that are further away, as they don't get stuck in traffic, and times can be predictable. I wouldn't build it there either.

      I've done it in many of those cities and remembered it was always long, expensive, and a hassle. Taiwan has been the easiest and one of the cheapest by far.
      London to Heathrow: 30 minutes, direct, £12.20 ($15.31)
      SFO to Downtown SF: 1 Hour, 1 transfer, $13.55
      Kuala Lumpur to KLIA: 1 Hour, direct, $11.60
      Paris to Paris Airport: 45 minutes, direct: €11.80
      Athens to Athens Airport: 1 hour, 1 transfer, €9
      BKK to Bangkok: 1 Hour, 1 transfer, $1.50
      I'm glad all of the above have options and are relatively affordable. Not as cheap as Taiwan and Bangkok, but still not too bad. Just long distance rides, which can be longer depending where in the city you're staying.

    Taiwan a small country with 24 million people but you never feel crowded like all other Asian countries. they are custom design by American architecture. People are spread out from North to South and people spread outside the city centre, the footpath 10 m wide in Taipei. The bad thing about Taiwan a stinky tofu , smell very very bad. You hardly see any smile on the street, people are depressed and stress. If you riding a rent bicycle around city, some shop owners kick you out, dont want you as bad as Viet nam.They think you are poor
