- Cockatiel Lemon has started laying eggs again, even though she has just weaned two babies. It's important that I don't let her lay more eggs as it would exhaust her to have back-to-back clutches.

G'day! We're from Australia with 3 native cockatiels.
Ana: Female, DOB 27/09/2020
Ana is a grey pearl cockatiel and she was bald as she was abused by her parents before she's 3 weeks old. She's timid and can be easily scared.
Lemon: Female, DOB 29/10/2020
Lemon is a pied lutino cockatiel with grey pattern on the right wing. Lemon is naughty and lively. She can't leave people even for one moment, she is unable to stay in the cage for too long.
Quishna: Male DOB 07/12/2020
Quishna is a pied lutino as well with grey pattern on the left wing. Quishna is the youngest one and he's smart and proud - never allow people to touch but he is gradually becoming the lead of the 3.
We live as a family, eat and play together!

It would be better to get another cockatiel. Conures can kill cockatiels because their beaks are so much bigger. My cockatiel hated his conure brother, they never fought but still.

Hi my cockatiels keep mating and my female just keep laying eggs they just brought up one baby from last clutch and kicked him out of nest at 5 weeks old to start another family so I took away nest box but it hasn't stopped her from trying again still laying eggs but on cage floor.. any ideas to stop this don't really want to separate the couple 😔 I'm hand-feeding the kicked out baby it's doing good but think it misses mum and dad
Please take care of her. She will start to pop eggs like crazy if you don't encourage her to stop in a while. After she has the offspring that you wish her to breed, then start to get her hormones down
Whilst it may be nice and surprising to see, never ever let them lay another batch after the young have fledged. sadly your best bet for your birds health is to remove the nest and the eggs.
as someone who's bred for years i can tell you it shortens their life span drastically. it can weaken them as time goes bound and cause egg bound, if you aren't sure what that is it basically is when the female/hen fails to pass an egg and in result if untreated can kill your bird.
