I had a customer with a 1981 Corvette daily driver. It needed about $5k in brakes, steering and U-joint/axle work just to make it SAFE TO DRIVE, yet all the owner stressed about was the non-op HORN!! He wanted to "beep" at the girls.

@Lassi Kinnunen : The car was a POS. It was completely neglected and ignored. When it drove in, the owner had to stop with E-brake. The steering was possessed by demons. U-joints junk for YEARS. Every liquid was puking on our floor, and exhaust leaks front to back. He wanted brake inspection and horn fixed 😂. Anyway, the guy was super nice, he loved the car, and approved a list of recommendations. His Harley kept him mobile while car in shop... and we did fix the HORN. (Edit: body & paint not too bad)

The front is strapped down so any reading you get would be fucked up by that restriction
They have to strap the front end down on a hub dyno because the car will legitimately pull the front wheels off the ground if it’s making any real power
foul bastard I’m not sure the front would be strapped down or any of the car for that matter, the axles are connected to the dyno, there would be no other need to strap it down, it can’t drive off if something goes bad, it has no rear wheels. If it was over 2000 wheel horsepower then you might start getting to the point you’ll need to weigh/strap the front down, depends on how much the front of the car weighs and how long it is. I’ve seen an XY Falcon drag car put down roughly 3000 horsepower at the hubs and it wasn’t strapped down, although they admitted any more and it would need to be held down...
