    I got my 3-transducers set up after the seminar. On my first trip of the year, I could see a big difference. Still dialing in the 2D at higher speeds. Thank You!!!

    Once again Jason, your educational on-the-water videos are the best available. Your taking the time, to not just give your SI settings, but to explaining what environmental conditions determine what your range, sensitivity and contrast should be is so helpful. Showing your screen shots, with highlights circled that correspond with your audio narrative is very instructional. Next time, I will be drinks and snacks as you let us tag along as passengers. By the way, the trip to Trout Lake in northern Ontario was amazing. Walleye and pike were plentiful and hungry. The shore lunches of freshly caught walleye were the highlight of my 75th birthday trip. Until next time......tightlines. Ron

    Indepth and easy to understand the advanced use of side imaging. Never had considered the use of two transducers but it makes sense when you consider the optimal use of the screen to get even better detail. Thanks for sharing.

    Very informative video! Thank you! I’m a retired corporate pilot and we had initial and recurrent training on the airborne radar systems and use. Some of the principles are the same. Shadows for example. Also, the Pro XS sounds amazing when you crank it up.

    What transducer mount board are you using? Is the transducer spray plate on top part of the mount board?

  • @scottb4971

    So do you run the y cable with both si transducers into the y cable with 2d transducer?

    • @TheTechnologicalAngler
      @TheTechnologicalAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. Both SI ducers connect to the SILR Y cable. Then the plug from that cable connects to the SIDB Y cable.

    I'm new to using the any electronic fish finders, I just got a Helix 7 MSI GPS G3N unit last year, and this is the first year I've used it. The 2D sonar and lake contour maps are the features i use most, the SI and DI are not as clear as I hoped for, but maybe it is because the 7" screen isn't large enough to easily distinguish the fish or features. Would a 9 or 10 inch Helix be better at seeing these features/fish using SI or DI? Thanks, I've seen many of your vids and learned tons of good info from you!!!

    • @TheTechnologicalAngler
      @TheTechnologicalAngler  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the positive feedback. The short answer is yes - larger screens that offer more pixels will make it much easier to see the smallest, most important details: the fish were working to find and catch.

      I'm looking to get a new trolling motor, I've got an old minnkota power drive unit. I'm going to get the terrova I-link, 24 volt model where I can use the Lake Master maps to troll specific depth lines...seems like all the retailers have the same price for these units. Do these ever go on sale instead of the MRSP?

    This is a very helpful video. Thanks. Question - what chart speed setting do you suggest? I noticed your screens said your boat speed was anywhere between .5 and 4.3 or so. What chart speed do you run - and - do you change chart speed as you're changing your boat speed, or set chart speed once and leave it?

    Excellent video Jason! I'm thinking of adding a second SI transducer to my current Helix 10 MSI GN3 setup using the Y cable you referenced. My current MSI transducer is installed on the starboard side of my motor and the motor interferes with the SI scan to the left of the boat. Not as big a problem when using the trolling motor and the motor is trimmed up. Once the second MSI transducer is installed I assume both transducers will be sending data to the Helix 10 unit - do you have to anything to "sync" the two transducers with the Helix unit? One would want the starboard transducer to be used for the right SI scan and the port transducer to be used for the left SI scan. How are the down and 2D images handled if both transducers are sending data to the Helix 10 unit?

    • @TheTechnologicalAngler
      @TheTechnologicalAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      It’s plug and play. If you don’t use a dedicated skimmer for 2D then the starboard SI ducer will provide 2D and DI

    Great video, thx... Question on the 2d... I have a fiberglass boat with a thru Hull transducer... I keep bottom but seem to get interference from outboard at higher speeds...would I benefit from an external 2d transducer?

    • @TheTechnologicalAngler
      @TheTechnologicalAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

    • @TheTechnologicalAngler
      @TheTechnologicalAngler  ปีที่แล้ว

      You need SILR and SIDB if you want to run two SI and the 2D skimmer. You only need SILR if you plan to only use the two SI ducers.

  • @tonypinckney5957

    Is there a significant difference running two transducers, or is it minimal? I like the idea, but it's a lot of work to do it on my boat. I would hate to go through that for a small improvement. Tell me it's absolutely worth it.
