Really appreciate how you covered what was indicated in the title and then went on to a few strategy/techniques. With the information on the rod/reel/line/bait thrown in it completed the whole picture. Extremely enjoyable and informative video to watch. Thanks!
Great show! I appreciate how you show what to look for as well as how to catch. I see your high speed transducer is mounted higher than mine. I lose bottom at about 23-25 mph depending on trim. Aluminum Lund boat. I Have it mounted between rivet lines. I’ll move it up, like yours and see how that does. Mine is mounted with the leading edge a little below the hull.
Wonderful on-the-water demonstration of getting the most out of SI. Do you ever use the 455 frequency when scanning at longer ranges for structure/cover on new bodies of water?
I've had the helix 7 for a year now and after trying every setting I could and not seeing any fish on the side imaging I just purchased the XHS 9 HDSI 180 Transducer and boom, fish everywhere,
Enjoy your videos. What are your thoughts on running 2 SI transducers, one on each side of the transom with a Y-splitter? Ive heard that gives clearer images, avoids trim height interference, etc but figured you will know.
Do you level the transducers horizontal i know about the coin level trick for vertical but never here about horizontal just thought if anybody would know it would be you..@@TheTechnologicalAngler
@@TheTechnologicalAngler so have them bang on level and I also noticed that you have them raised up how far up from the bottom of the boat do you have them..
If I’m fishing in 30 feet of water and using side imaging. Distance set to 100ft, would I subtract 30ft of bottom depth from the 100ft setting. For 70ft of coverage. Or is it a true 100ft of coverage. I’m also enjoying your video’s.
I've sometimes watched my bait and fish go to my bait on 2D sonar but I can't on side image, any comments on this. I know I'm continuously moving on side image but why doesn't side image work sitting still like 2D

Always top of the line information, professional presentation, quality video post processing. Superb.
where the hell are you that you see that many fish!?!?! that's amazing!
Awesome video! Well presented...
Glad you liked it!
Solid stuff right there- great job!

EXCELLENT video - very informative. Thank you.
Thanks. Will continue to stay subbed.

Best way to do it. Have been rigging my boats that way for over 10 years - because it works!
@@TheTechnologicalAngler thank you

Are you always using both transducers? I c 2 (port and starboard) on ur transom.
I am running a gen 1 solix. Thinking about upgrading to a gen 3. What advantages would this move make ? great video, tks
wait for new models in 2025
Will these suggestions work with a 12” mega gen 2 system? I just can’t get my system to read like what others can
You bet
I think one of the biggest things is to trust what you re seeing.
What would you use as a starting point for sensitivity and contrast settings?
Do you have a quick disconnect on your live imaging cord by the TKI Pole?
No. Just the two regular connectors - power and Ethernet
Should the large DI+SI transducer be mounted above or below the smaller high speed 2D transducer ?
If you go back and watch that section of the video, you’ll see exactly how/where I have each of the three transducers placed on the transom

Does chart speed make a difference on image quality?
Dr. Halfen, phd in what field , curious ? thanks
Simple google search says chemistry and biochemistry
