Interesting! That’s a tactic I don’t think either of us have considered over the years! But I’m so bloody-minded that I would have resisted the temptation to break cover for a long time! Evening Gents, another smashing game. Love you play style, keeping the game moving yet still showing what is required so we can understand and get immersed into the game. This is one of my favourite scenarios from this batch. The replay ability of this is great as you can mix up the starting position of the marines as well as the normal random occurances. Keep them coming.
Ah, cheers! Yes, I’ve had a few people say to me that they really like this format - it’s really because Space Hulk (mostly) can be set out on a 4x4 board and because there’s no terrain that really makes what is happening pretty clear. It also allows me to shoot the whole thing from a static camera which means we can concentrate on playing and it also makes the dozens of edits I always make less intrusive. I wish I could do all games like this but anything with terrain means that you end up with stuff the viewer can’t see. Yes, the other 4 episodes are already in the can and a follow-up Deathwing series will be next year’s project! I also like this mission because it is one that I normally find to be a bit more forgiving for the Marines - but that did not prove to be the case here! 😂 Cheers for joining us again! ~ Gordon
Fantastic video! The climax reminds me of an 80’s action movie with the muscled hero just unloading his weapon in desperation. I also love the extra rolls at the end to see if you could go above and beyond.

That was great to watch, thank you. With all the long corridors and nowhere to hide, I have always found this mission nearly impossible for the Genestealers to win, so it was a very good attempt. One thing the flamer marine could have done after using all his shots would be to lure some Genestealers in close, and self destruct for 1 point, killing everything in the same board section. I mostly forget that he can do that, but it is a good trick when it comes off.
Cheers Phil! Yes, I’ve had similar experiences with this mission and was feeling fairly cocky ahead of it…obviously it didn’t work out to be the breeze I was expecting! That’s a great suggestion about self-destructing the Flamer - I’m not sure in all the years we’ve played Space Hulk that we’ve ever used that rule but it’s absolutely the case that I forgot about that option when playing this through. I liked the way you used the Flamer to seal off one end of the board, and I might have to adopt that in the future. I'm really looking forward to the next mission now, and I also wanted to ask if you have any plans to do more campaigns from White Dwarf at some point? You did The Last Stand a while ago, which was very good, and there are quite a few more like Genestealer Invasion, Necromunda, Wolf Lair, Strike Deep etc.

The first thing to say is that there will be another 4 episodes of Space Hulk: Classics to come - then, for 9 weeks, Allan Stenhouse’s follow up to his Space Hulk: Damnation Eternal will be featuring and then we’ll do the follow up to Classics by playing through the Deathwing campaign. Then it’ll be back to Allan for his third and final series before we return by playing the Genestealer missions and then on to the other campaigns! Basically, we want to play through every 1st Edition mission, but that will likely take a good few years! Sorry it’ll take so long but I hope that gives you plenty to look forward to for a long time to come! ~ Gordon
