do people really still get bored watching puff? Especially hbox? I think it's sick for a lot of reasons unlike say Nitendude/Dizzkidboogie IC's. Reagrdless though Hbox has been taking more risk since midway through last year and he does some pretty flashy stuff on a regular basis like offstage rests and more baits/mind games. I feel like a lot of people just watch the doc or read some comments and adopt the mob mentality.
From what I gather, people don't like watching Hbox's Puff because he plays her defensively...like if he was more aggresive people wouldn't mind as much! :/

-Do bairs
-Land bairs
-Spam bairs
-Train bears that can bair so they can bair with your bairs

Great vid. Besides Fox, I think Falco is Puff's hardest matchup.
Don't know why Puff gets so much hate. I love watching hungrybox defeat all these top level Foxes. There is no trade, no percentage, where Fox does not have the advantage over Puff. Fox dtilt kills Puff; his up tilt kills Puff. His up and bair kills Puff. Upsmash kills Puff. To be so disadvantaged and still win... well, makes me want to play Puff as well ;)
Nah, the 20GX C. Falcon is next hardest after Fox. When Falcon plays the MU (basically how 20gx falcon plays against her) it becomes pretty tough for puff. He can actually combo her which is a trait very few characters have at all. He probably has the best combo game on puff of any character. His DD, CC and aerial speed mean that puff isnt as safe as she's used to being. Basically both characters can kill the other off one opening so it becomes really high stakes and most puffs are really uncomfortable not playing super defensive. Also maybe Marth could be 2nd place instead of falcon hard to say. But based on the matchup of playstyles I feel that most puffs would feel more disadvantaged against optimized falcons.
hardnewstakenharder just listing a bunch of disadvantages for one party doesn't mean the character is at a "disadvantage".
- Up throw into rest/side b/up air/re-grab dead
- up throw onto platform for frame trap, dead
- back aired off stage, dead

Puff gets hate because she loses 1 match up and it's all anyone talks about when it comes to how good of a character she is. She loses to fox...like every other character in the game except for Falco and Marth who can go neutral at best. She beats floaties because she does everything they want to do but does it better. She gets a 100% safe edge guard which is pretty easy to pull off, can recover from anywhere if not outright KOed (one of the biggest things people always say is that she's easy to kill. She's easy to kill off the top and that's it. If she dies off the side, chances are nearly every character would be dead if they were in the same situation, they'd just die to an edge hog or something just as easy). She's also an extremely cheesy character, which I think is the biggest reason people hate her. She relies on 1 move more so than any other top tier, and has a 1 frame instakill. Theoretically, if people never made a mistake, she wouldn't be that great. The problem is that 1 missed tech at any percent is jab reset into rest for her, and like Fang says above, there are a couple of simple set ups that lead into it. She takes skill to play, but there is literally nobody who I think enjoys playing against her.

Puff is actually sick as fuck and takes skill. She's not one dimensional like Nintendude's IC's
one huge aspect of bair that you didnt really discuss is SH instant bair to second hop. its like a 2 frame window and certainly deserves some focus.

I think you should also mention that puff has one of the best defensive games.
Don't forget he is a strong wall that can be hit once, if you manage to do it, then back to neutral in most cases.
Puff dying at 60% against fox doesn't mean that much in that regard, almost every other character kills him at normal % like everyone else.

As a puff main I can confirm Marth is jigg's hardest match up because he can fairly easily wall out a jigglypuff.
Marth, if the player knows how to wall out Jiggs it's virtually impossible to get in.

As a Puff main, I think that Marth is Puff's second hardest matchup.
If the Marth is super safe about spacing and timing mixups, then it's so hard for Puff to ever get in on him. Yes, Puff has a great punish game on Marth, but so does Puff on Fox and Falco, and that doesn't make those easy matchups by any stretch of the imagination either.

@@TheBeggies95 Falcon isn’t bad for Puff, especially since he has no projectile. So if Puff plays right, Falcon has to go in and play Puffs game.
@@GAVINthePG But Marth does not have projectile either and you said Marth. Falcon is better at going in than Marth (even tho fair is good) because of his speed and aerial drift. He can nair, upair or even knee. When the puff tries to crouch to dodge a grab or aerial, he just stomps her. It's also easy for falcon to get out of Puff's range fast.

Marth is Jiggly's hardest match up imo. Jiggs is kinda slow so it's hard to punish him well, and outspacing is just bleh.

i don't see anyone talking about Falcon as jiggs' second hardest matchup. with how much damage some of his better moves do, his large up and neutral-airs, his combos that can bring Puff to kill percent from 30-40, and the constant short hop fast falls making hitting him hard with the constant hurtbox size shifts, Falcon is the second hardest MU for Puff imo

Probably falcon. Many people would think that the edge guarding against falcon would make jigglypuff take it easily, but falcon has a lot of things confirmed on jigglypuff. Such as down throw knee at most percentages.
Falco mu is rough. He has good kill setups, but no where as painful as fox's. Marth is rough, you need perfect spacing the whole time, but so does Marth so it's just stressful for both of them.
Personally Marth I hate playing against Marth - It's a dirty matchup either sides! (Crouch Rests, Uptilt Rests or Marth tippers you to high heaven!)
Falcon is possibly the hardest though, a well spaced Falcon can rip a Jigglypuff to pieces!
Falco is probably the weakest of the Matchups, it's a Space animal with a weaker recovery than Fox.

I really think more videos on specific mixup situations that come up frequently in different matchups would be cool. Identify a situation, run through all the options, etc. etc. maybe like "Matchup mix- up guide" i.e. Fox-Puff bair placement, falco-fox approach/laser, etc.
Hi! I was wondering if anyone knows of a reasonably cheap laptop that can handle emulating Melee. I want this so that I can practice using the 20xx training pack, as I think it would improve my timing and overall skill lots. Thank you for making great content btw!

I'd say her toughest mu besides Fox is G&W. The rest of the high tiers are either even, or ever so slight disadvantage. Peach is free.

Nerfbat reverse blazer has little range, a TON of lag, and doesn't kill consistently in any stage. roy has no true combos or strings on puff (forget about comboing into reverse blazer) and gets crushed by bair alone, never mind her free combos and edgeguards. worst roy matchup behind ice climbers.

My puff sucks in neutral idk where to improve on to have better neutral im always getting hit by marths fairs, Falco laser, etc. I just don't know how to get around it or improve my neutral to beat that.
Grew up with melee, mained jigglypuff and link. Then I played ultimate and now I cant even play melee because I got used to ultimate

marth for the hardest. Probably marth and icys for 2nd and 3rd. Like ice climbers are just really awkward to fight.
Doctor Mario. His pills are like Falco's lasers with the hitstun except they do 6-8%. Same mobility as falco and arguably 2nd or 3rd best rest punish besides Fox and Puff. Also isn't a fast faller so harder to land a rest and people are unfamiliar with the Doc matchup.
I'd say marth, but maybe I'm not good at that MU, I dont have any problems with falco, Maybe a campy Sheik(?)

Falco is her worst matchup for sure. Lasers, uptilt, and bair destroy Puff if she tries to come in too close. On the ground, dair spam wins. Since she's always trying to do air jank, laser fsmash works in this matchup more than any other.
Marth because he can out range puff with bis massive disjoint, and pivot tippers for stupid early kills. Then Falco if he's willing to be patient and play the laser game

Besides Fox, I'd say Sheik with Marth in close third. However I still believe it's 50/50 or even skewed in Puff's favor.
Marth, Falco, Falcon, and even Dr Mario all do much better against puff than Sheik does.
Kevin Ogden Sheik has a pretty hard time against Puff. Most top players say it's either even or Puff is favored. A lot of Sheik's bread and butter does not work on Puff, and actually ends up causing Sheik to get rested.
