I have just found your channel and I love this work out! In fact I do this one twice in a row to try and get a full half hour of exercise. You have a wonderful calming voice and go slowly enough that I can easily follow along. And that is saying something....I'm 62! Hope your dogs are still doing ok!
I love using my jump board so I’ve been hoping you would make a jump board video, can’t wait to do this tomorrow, thank you! Bonus for those beautiful lounging puppies again! 🤗🤗🤗
Hi A beginner here too. 57 overweight and had stenosis back surgery 9 months ago. Have been walking and slowly using my new aeropilates reformer. Love it so far and so glad I found your videos to help learn. Just wanna get back in shape! Hopefully this will help!?
Good luck. Be sure to check with your dr. or medical practitioner to be sure that these workouts are okay for your condition. And, with injuries / recovery / etc., I always recommend working with a qualified, certified Pilates Instructor in person, so they can address your individual needs. I wish you continued good health and a fast recovery. :)
Very inspiring video to help me use my reformer more regularly. Great instruction too. No need to go to classes anymore like I use to. This is so much better. You have your own 1 on 1 teacher. Like there are beginner videos! Thanks John
Classes are great, if you live where you can take them with a great and qualified instructor. It's perfect in between your at home workouts. I'm so glad you like my videos! Thank you!
Absolutely Michelle. Check out the Balanced Body (Allegro 1 is a great at home Reformer). Click the link in the video description for our shop page and you'll get a 5% discount on any Balanced Body Equipment.
This is great! My right leg is very weak due to MS, but I am determined! I have been working on my reformer now for over three months and decided to include a jump board. Is it better for me to just do little jumps? I know I need to integrate some sort of aerobic work.
Opps! Lol! Meant to say. I loved the workout John. I am about to do another one this evening. I like the way you keep informing explain the cord changes, and I was able to keep up with you
Most likely you're going to feel the work if you've got the correct spring tension. You should be feeling your muscles heat up during the jumping. Hard to tell though without watching your form.
Check out www.merrithew.com/shop/pilates-reformers/at-home-pilates-reformers - This month is free shipping month. This is the brand I use and I love it.
I have the Professional Model - you have the SPX Model. The only difference is that it's low to the ground, and less expensive. We have that model at our studio in Long Beach and I love them.
Although this is a good workout, I think for it to be geared toward beginners, you should have an actual beginner on the reformer with you being off to the side giving instructions and cues on form and alignment, especially when there is a chance that true beginners don’t have experience on the reformer or even Pilates in general. Instructors know the foot, spine, pelvic, and etc positions, as well as the routine they are teaching; beginners do not. Just my thoughts.
I love your videos. I really love that you have your dog on a bed right by the reformer! Thank you!
That was a lot of fun.

Hi John , would this be suitable for someone with ankle arthritis?
Slowly working through these each day until I am familiar enough to get on and do some on my own. May take some time.....
Should I feel warmth and burn around my knees (mainly where quad meets knee) during the jump board activity?

Very good but the dogs stole the show!

🤗🐕
I just got the exact same reformer but mine seems lower to the ground. Do you know why?
I have the Professional Model - you have the SPX Model. The only difference is that it's low to the ground, and less expensive. We have that model at our studio in Long Beach and I love them.
Omg I thought the dogs are not alive,?
