I now realise that I setup the virtual machine in this video to run off my QUANTUM-NAS. That would explain why I said the virtual machine was slow until I installed RevisionOS. The virtual machine was running on a hard drive rather than an SSD. Running a virtual machine on a hard drive is not recommended because of the nature and performance of hard drive.

I have a dual xeon HP z620 . It was very cheap but ultimately is too slow for much of what i like to run. I’d consider a newer dual xeon or epyc server in the future, but i have to be careful to get faster CPUs and RAM. Everything else about the z620 is really cool. Very solidly built. BIOS is kinda funky compared to average PCs
I recently got a p520 and its been great for basic gaming and computing and its got great upgradeability.
I got a dual xeon p620 for like $215. Very crazy considering that used to be a $2000-$4000 workstation only a few years ago

I'm considering a purchase of a P510 to replace my current and bit dated, custom build. No issues with PCIe passthrough on these Lenovo machines?

No issues with PCIe passthrough on both the P510 and P520. You do need to enable Intel VD-t in the bios to be able to passthrough a Graphics Card. On the P510 I had a bit of trouble finding the option to enable VD-t. It’s hidden in one of the options. I forget what it’s called but I had to read the descriptions of each option carefully until it mentioned VD-t and enabled it. You should update the bios too if you buy a P510 so better CPUs work. @@NatesZone Thank you. I'm aware of passthrough requirements in bios. I should be picking one up this weekend with e5 2690 v3 (it'll do for now), no ram or gpu but I already have a 8x 32Gb kit and a 1070 that will be going in it along with a LSI SAS card. I'd be looking to purchase Flex Adapter as well as it would be nice to add m.2 capabilities. Best regards!

just wonder what weather software you are using ?
I am using MyRadar on one of the smaller monitors behind me at the end of the video. I also use GRLevel3 to track severe weather in my area sometimes too. MyRadar is free but with ads. I recommend paying the one time fee to remove the ads. It’s worth it to me. GRLevel3 is a paid software but it’s a pay once never pay again software. I don’t remember how much I paid for it though. I’ve owned it for many years.
