I have a CBR300R and I love riding it. It has a lot of low end torque, BUT, you're shifting into 6th gear at 36MPH--which means that with any kind of traffic, you are shifting all the time. Curious about the shift rations on the Ninja. It would be nice to get to 45MPH, for around town riding, in less than 5 shifts. UPDATE Jan 12, 2022-I couldn't take it anymore so I traded my CBR300R for the Ninja 400. SMARTEST thing I've done in a very long time! No comparison. I expected the increase in power, but the Ninja clutch is much smoother, the bike rides better, and is just more solid all around.
YES! :D People Always underestimate just how fast bikes really are. The old Ninja 300 can take on a new Polo GTI. It will probably just lose to the new GTI but for an inch of the price that's super impressive :D
I have a 2017 KTM 390 Duke, and the primary thing that kept me away from the RC version was that dash. The Duke has an excellent TFT dash with all sorts of goodies for this class, and I was surprised at how much punch it had if you give the throttle a good twist. I mean it’s not like it’s gonna throw you off, but I can feel it move me back in the seat and pull in my shoulders. Plus I love the new headlight on the naked version styled like the 1290 Duke. If the RC version had those two features I think I would have chosen that, even over that Ninja 400.
GETUP AND GO they're comparing a 400 against 300s, but left out the only 500, which is the CBR. Another excellent starter bike. That is their first mistake.
All the bikes there serve different needs....if i wanna go to trackdays and improve my track riding i wont go to the ninja 400.....the 390 makes much more sense....But since the debate is for the best beginer bike i couldnt agree more with the ninja 400... Rc390 aint no beginer bike....its a beginer race bike....and thats a completely different level.
And not surprisingly, Kawasaki wins. Many will say "Oh it's just a brand new bike, good displacement and styled after H2, the novelty will wear off" but Kawasaki have had their head in the right place for a long time now. They don't make motorcycles that you buy for a season and then sell, they make motorcycles you want to keep in your garage for years. Practical, good looking, won't break your bank and, apart from some painfully obvious design flaws and things that you'll probably have to upgrade with aftermarket parts, honestly won't leave you disappointed. Isn't that what we are all looking for? A long term relationship rather than a quick fling? :)
Honda was top notch. Kawasaki has really outdone themselves with innovation these past 10 years though. Consistently making competitive machines in every class. Now they're releasing their 250cc 4 cylinder. Absolutely unreal.
Small bikes like these are awesome! I once did a session at a track day on a Ninja 300 & it was way more "fun" than my GSXR 750 race bike. I rode that thing wide open the entire session & it was a blast. The Ninja 400 is the perfect bike for street riding & occasional track days.
I know. ;) I have Duke 390 and I love it. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with a bike. It looks like KTM is more fun on the twisties, but for a long trip, I would definitely pick Kawasaki. From the looks of it it has a comfier seat
Are you talking about this video? Because I didn't get that vibe. ;) While I think Ninja might be a little faster, KTM might be more fun. It is all subjective. And don't get me wrong - I'm not a die-hard KTM fan. ;P I happen to own KTM and Kawasaki bikes, and I love them both.
MotoHolota sorry, I meant the Ninja 400. He didn't say it in this video. It was an upload from Snapchat that somebody posted from Motorcyclist Magazine's channel. He said out of the box, it was better. I also have owned both!

Agreed that Japanese bikes are more reliable than the over-engineered Euro bikes or the poor quality, other-countries bikes. Among the big 4 Japanese, Honda and Yamaha are the top 2, at least historically, although Kawie and Susy are not that far behind.
@Steini It was a general comment....not a specific one....did you read it? Generally speaking, German Machinery is more complex to work on...whether a German Bike or Car.....than a Japanese one.
Have had a 400 for the past couple of months now. Full system Yoshimura Alpha T was needed to be able to hear the bike at all but helped with performance as a plus. Now I’m just waiting on my Dynojet PC5 to fine tune it. Quick bike, handles great, easy and comfortable to ride, and I get great gas mileage! Couldn’t be happier with the 400.
I have spent more time with my RC torn apart than I have riding it. I’m constantly torn between “now that’s it’s fixed I can go ride” and “now that’s it’s fixed I can trade it in”

@@Cam-hk2bh don't be scared of the 636 I got a 2020 zx6r as my first bike and I am loving every second of it, kept it in low power mode with traction control to the max to start and took it easy from there now it's just cruising and learning as I go No regrets just respect the bike, I heard that a lot and did exactly that
I have the 300R and I love it. It's the weakest 300cc but still plenty of fun, I only weigh 110lbs so it goes plenty fast for me. It can handle freeway speeds, and I don't feel unsafe going 70+ . Stock tires are fine, would run them down before replacing. Brakes are fine, I've locked up the rear wheel a couple times and its always been controllable, locked rear wheel up in a deep turn had a little wobble but no lowside or highside lmao. Dropped twice, broke the clutch lever, parts are cheap, maintenance is easy. Fairings take drops well. Single cylinder sips gas and revs high, exhaust is decent, sounds like a dirtbike though. Pretty sure it's the lightest of these bikes and has a low seat height, real easy to handle and get it down in the corners from a 5'5" manlet. The power band is high up and it has a good amount of torque. Only gripes I have about it is I wish the position was a little more sporty, it's just like a pedal bike position. I am small so I can get in a sporty position if I like, but it still doesn't feel right. Past 60mph the acceleration is poo, just stay high in the rev range where the power is, but in top gear at 70mph+ you will already be there lol. The front tire is narrow which makes it easy to turn, but also it tends to get caught in cracks running parallel to the road so you have to watch out for that. Very good beginner bike, I am going to keep it longer than most beginners would.
Yeah I love my 300R too, been a solid commuter and first bike for me. 16,000km (10k miles) down and hasn't skipped a beat. I did put some Pirelli rubber on at the 12k service though and I'm much more confident on those in the twisties. The OEMs were feeling a little ragged when leaning over and pushing.
Definitely, but the ZXR400 specifically had something special to it. Because of the displacement it had a higher pitched sound compared to the ZXR900, it felt like a scream and on the top end that scream would break and become angry and vicious! Love that bike.
emudshit ....... HP is great. But torque is also a value. And the single cylinder KTM has a bit of torque. And delivers it’s power at lower RPMs........ Better for street riding. The Ninja is a great machine And the fact that we have so many great “entry level” bikes to choose from is a testament of great times.
Same here man, I even took 2 on a test ride, the r3 and a Honda 300 which by the way was trash in my opinion. Took the r3 home the same day and sold my r6 because it was a deathtrap (I tend to get brave sometimes). Never looked back!!

Why would you be thinking about long-term, when you will probably not put any more than 5000 to 10,000 miles on a beginner bike. Every bike created on this planet will go 2 to five times that many miles without any issue. So forget about so-called reliability. Get the bike that speaks to you! The ninja 400 is a great bike. There’s no arguing that. But if you want to be a serious rider and truly work on the craft, then the KTM 390 is the only choice
Hm..If I get a 400, I won't be throwing it away anytime soon. And I'm sure anyone aspiring to be a 'serious rider' that wants to 'truly work on the craft' can upgrade components on any of these bikes.
Still love my R3. Because blurple. All these bikes, with maybe the exception of the Suzuki, are amazing for the price. You can't really go wrong in this segment.
2017+ models are free from recalls. Altogether, it was less than 15,000 bikes for 2015-2016 model years. I wouldn't call that massive, Takata had a massive recall (which also caused deaths). Yamaha did owners right by noticing the issues and fixing them much quicker than most manufacturers.
Ninja 300, and CBR300r had engine issues as well - but like the R3 these were all sorted out and are not a problem anymore because bikes were recalled and new bikes ship with the necessary modifications all taken care of.
Nice review, I always liked the Kawasaki's parallel twin over any single. But In india though the prices are very different, the rc390 is roughly usd 3800 and the ninja 400 has been recently launched at USD 7200.
Long time Suzuki fan but that thing's a mess. They should make a 400cc like kawasaki or a nice handling 300. At $500 cheaper, i would not ever buy it. Besides, whoever is buying a smaller bike is either a new rider that doesn't want to get bored too easy, or an experienced rider that wants a track bike that is extremely light and aggressive. Like an RC390.
Why is it that Suzuki and Honda give so little performance for the money? The Yamaha puts up a better fight, but performance per dollar the Kawasaki Ninja just shines.
Honda has more name recognition. In Asia they call motorcycles Honda. Yamaha competes with Honda in a lot of products like electric generator, boat motors, jet skis, scooters and motorcycles. If you take a large sample size of people in Asia about their user experience. they always say Yamaha makes nice bikes with lots of perks but they don't last as long as a Honda. They have Honda scooters running for 30 years no problems.
nhan khuu True. I guess the trade off here is reliability and durability VS performance. Do you want a bike that can last you 30+ years in rough conditions or a bike that will race cars with on the street for similar amounts of money. I would choose the longevity of a Honda motorcycle if it is known for certain that the Yamaha/Kawasaki/Suzuki will most likely not stick around 15 years later, but I still want more power for the money
@@SilverScarletSpider Honda owns the small bike market and has since the debut of the Super Cub 60 years ago but over 125cc I like Yamaha better. That said my next bike will likely be an Africa Twin AS ES DCT
I ended up between a R3 and the Ninja. Road tested and the KRT '22 was a clear choice. The Ninja is just an amazing starter bike! I have made a lot of mods myself. I agree that the R3 is much easier to work with, but the Ninja is fantastic to drive and maintain.
It's quite disappointing really that back in 1990 there were 400cc bikes with four cylinders, 60ish bhp, twin front disks etc. They felt and looked like proper solid bikes, these all look a little spindly, they all have relatively low hp, single disks etc. A 1000cc bike back then had approx 130-150ish hp whereas now they have 180-200 hp, almost a 50% increase in power, it's just a shame that 400cc bikes haven't had the same sort of progress. Imagine a vfr400 with 85-90ish bhp
steve wallace ...... So much agree. Ride the RC 390. It does not disappoint. I have a Monster as well and I never find that I miss the HP while on the KTM.......It does it’s job so spectacularly
I ride an MT-10 and also an FMX650 and I don't miss the power when i'm on the 650, it's just a shame that lightweight bikes haven't kept pace with the bigger stuff.
Steve Wallace the reason is that traffic authorities have banned learners from having high BHP small bikes. There is no point in Europe in building a 60BHP 400cc engine, you won't be able to ride it until you have a full license. I believe Japan is the same. In Australia they restrict the CC to 650 but still limit the BHP to about 45bhp. If you have a full license why buy a 400cc bike with 60bhp? Buy A Street Triple or a Duke 790 or MT07. They are nearly as light and are much better bikes.
The thing is that only a few would buy a 400cc inline 4 bike as they would be too powerful for begginers and mortal experienced riders would eventually want a 600cc supersports.(Immortals and Highlanders would get'em liters though :D)
Since you selected the new ninja 400 as the winner, please do a video comparing the current ninja 400, to the old school zxr400. How does the old 4 cylinder version compare to the new parallel twin?
I had a Ninja 300 2015 last year, sold it for a zxr400 1993. The zxr400 is soooo solid on the road and the brakes are perfect in comparison with the shit brakes on the Ninja 300. Zxr400 all day!
I have an RC and I love it. It’s beautiful and not just another “rice rocket” (though they are pretty too). I got the comfort seat and it made a huge difference.
I own a Ninja 300 and a Fireblade. Going with the Ninja 400 (dual LED headlights and new dash ftw!). I'm tempted to switch out the 300 for the updated version - even though the 300 is an excellent city/streetbike. Most likely I'll keep the 300 for my significant other and get a modern standard like the 765 Street Triple RS.
praveenbec the ninja handle bars are very high compared to a supersport anyway, just like my CBR250R. All day comfortable on the open road and absolutely fine in town too. I have to admit though, I do like an adventure bike riding position so next bike for me will be a vstrom 650, or cb500x, or something like that.
I owned an R3. for a first bike, or a first sport bike, it was phenomenal. It gets you used to the sport rider position, it looks good, has a really good looking dash, shift light, revs out to 12.5k, it's lightweight, and 35hp is definitely enough to cruise the interstates in the US. I would cruise at 8K rpm on the freeway in 6th gear. I got 50+ mpg, and although it wasn't blazing fast you could definitely leave people in the dust from the stop lights. I had a 50hp/60tq harley sportster before the r3 and the r3 had better straight line acceleration, top speed, braking, and cornering even though the harley had much more CC's, more hp and more torque. I then upgraded to a Buell Firebolt XB12R, which is a properly fast motorcycle. If you don't know what Buell's are, I got several videos up of mine.
i wish yamaha makes a "r3m" like r1m with ohlins suspension and very aggressive riding position and around 388cc or something more than 320cc, while also selling the current r3 as "r3s"
Is it too much to ask for one of the Japanese Manufactures to make a hardcore version of a small bike? There is a (really small?) market for veteran sport riders like me that enjoy small displacement bikes... right?
Got a Vespa 150S for around the city, a nice ol' Monster 1100 (air cooled) for longer weekend rides and I have an 2015 RC390 for Sunday morning rips around my 1 hour long twisty coastal ride, gotta be the best little bike out there if you enjoy riding a bike with in an inch of it's life, loves the beatings and asks for more!
As in to ride it hard and fast, it's not a super bike, so ridding it at 9/10s is something you can do nearly the whole ride, given the right roads.... They aren't cheap, they do have some lower quality parts.. hand levers...cough cough, gauge cluster... cough cough, but the important parts are quality, engine, frame, etc.... could use adjust adjustable forks and better brake pads from the factory, that said its great.
JoeGo101 must be pretty close ! xD I believe the ninja 400 will Trump the rest, while RC390 will finish second. R3 comes third comfortably, while the single Honda will put that Suzuki to shame.
I rode the Honda CB300F during my motorcycle course. I enjoyed everything about the bike except the throttle and switching into neutral. It could just be that I'm a noob and never took it above 3rd at 30 mph. That is the only bike I have ever ridden. Now I want a Ninja 400.
u guys didn't mention that the rc 390 has ride by wire throttle and has bcame slower than its predecessor in outright performance old rc390 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 sec new rc 390 0 to 100 km /h in 6.5 sec
Thanks for sharing this video. I've been looking into getting a "starter" bike. Right now I'm leaning around the r3 since there's a few in my area for the right price 🤷♂️ but we'll see what happens
shameful that the R3 has a fuel gauge but the r6/r1 dosent. Before everyone is like "hubbada bubbada its a track bike bruhhhh" No it's not...not yet, not until turned into one. It was released under DMV regulations, to be a registered street vehicle. Just don't understand...you would think every bike made since at least like 2010 ish would have a damn fuel gauge.
For me, it came down to wanting a single-cylinder. Kind of like how I only ride fixed-gear bicycles. I like simple things. And comfortable things. And reliable things. So I bought the Honda.
nice video! but would have been more interesting if we had the 390 vs ninja vs the CBR 500r, I don't know what the price difference is but it makes more sense in terms of horsepower
Nice comparison video. I was down to same with Ninja and KTM. I think I’ll go with Ninja, it just looks sexier and sounds like the RC can develop some technical issues.
Honestly I shopped these 2 bikes & it came down to riding them back to back. Get the ninja if you want an everyday bike with the occasional track use. The RC if you're really thinking track/racing
Owned a ktm rc 125 and a 390. Most problems are solved with the seller and KTM takes care of them instantly. They even send me a KTM hat and a hoodie, because my bike had a problem with the ABS wire. All fixed now and got some sweet KTM merch.
In India KTM's are msotly seen as a squid's choice no matter how great they perform. Only in some cases decent people are seen using ktm and that too mostly for long rides. But Ninja on the other hand(whole series of Ninja and zx series) just like rest of the world is a really respected bike here as well.
Because in India KTM is selling only because they're cheap that means it attracts cheap minded crowd and the KTM fans (in India) are most toxic in the world they compares everything even cruisers with RCs and dukes and says that every bike is overpriced
I own an RC390 and can comfortably say I think I mad the right choice it's an awesome bike with heaps of power paired with a TB exhaust system sounds really good too
I'd get a 30 year old Honda CBR400RR, 60 bhp, 60mpg, a genuine 130+mph top speed, easy to work on and quite simply one of the best bikes (of any size) ever made. I had 2 in my many years of motorcycling, and if I could still ride, I'd have one now. If I wanted something a little racier, then the VFR400RR of the same era is just as good a bike (maybe better) but a little uncompromising about town. I don't get how 30 years of progress has created these gutless wonders! They have about the same power as a Superdream!
As a proud new rider and owner of a gently pre owned ninja 300, I'd definitely roll with the ninja 400. As I gain more experience the 400 will be my last bike. It's all the power I'll ever need.
I already knew the 400 would win. I’m about to buy a Honda CBR300R for my first bike. Honda is a reputable reliable brand and I’m getting the 2019 for a great price. Can’t beat it! If I had the extra cash I would go with the Kawasaki 400 but maybe in the future I will just jump up to a CBR500R.
I get why they have gear position indicators, those are super awesome especially for a beginner street bike rider like me (I put one on my cbr300r) but I'm not really sure why you would want or need a shift light? Especially on a small CC street bike. Maybe thats just me though... Might be good for people who have never rode anything with a manual transmission.

I mean it’s not like it’s gonna throw you off, but I can feel it move me back in the seat and pull in my shoulders. Plus I love the new headlight on the naked version styled like the 1290 Duke. If the RC version had those two features I think I would have chosen that, even over that Ninja 400.
I'm so ready to fight with you guys about how much I agree with you
No!!! I agree more!
1000 USD more expensive the price in Mexican coin than in dollars. What a scam!
Can you please do another video like this with 500cc - 600cc?
Same video with slightly bigger bikes. Thank you.
Brandon S so now you’re judging bikes by the way they look instead performance and reliability
In India the Kawasaki Ninja 400 costs twice the price of the KTM RC 390!

Kawasaki is the way to go, regardless of other b.s.. Kawi has been top notch since they first came out.
I feel like the RC is a better option for riding hard, but if I could have only one bike I would go with ninja, no doubt.
MotoHolota ...... I have the KTM. And absolutely not.
If you decide to get one or the other, make sure you test ride. They are night and day.
I know. ;) I have Duke 390 and I love it. I guess it all depends on what you want to do with a bike. It looks like KTM is more fun on the twisties, but for a long trip, I would definitely pick Kawasaki. From the looks of it it has a comfier seat
Nope lol the Kawi is better...Ari even admitted it in his track time with the Ninja 400

Japanese bikes are a lot more reliable than any other bikes.

I think Japanese bike are the best machines ever made.... sorry its a fact........dont even leave a comment its not worth it. no dont... let it be you know im right,if you dont believe have a go on a 1995 cbr 900 mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Agreed that Japanese bikes are more reliable than the over-engineered Euro bikes or the poor quality, other-countries bikes. Among the big 4 Japanese, Honda and Yamaha are the top 2, at least historically, although Kawie and Susy are not that far behind.
Also japanese cars
@Steini It was a general comment....not a specific one....did you read it? Generally speaking, German Machinery is more complex to work on...whether a German Bike or Car.....than a Japanese one.
Have had a 400 for the past couple of months now. Full system Yoshimura Alpha T was needed to be able to hear the bike at all but helped with performance as a plus. Now I’m just waiting on my Dynojet PC5 to fine tune it. Quick bike, handles great, easy and comfortable to ride, and I get great gas mileage! Couldn’t be happier with the 400.
Loved Zach on the 1/4. But they forgot to put him on the dyno
Rhys Cooper i agree
Rhys Cooper they neglected to talk about his brakes and suspension too
0.3 horsepower
soo bicycle
Christian Hodges brakes were on par with similiar models in the class. His suspension is poorly dampened but offers a lot more travel.
"But my bike will continue to run, while that one is almost guaranteed to blow up." End of argument.
Yes mine too rc390
I have spent more time with my RC torn apart than I have riding it. I’m constantly torn between “now that’s it’s fixed I can go ride” and “now that’s it’s fixed I can trade it in”
it's true. my 2015 rc390 burned down at 6000 miles and my 2016 rc390's engine died on the highway at 20,000 miles.
Philip Viana damn bad luck or a bad bike!
This comment and comment section is so sad. I love the shape of the KTM. But it's that trash eh?
You're so right about the Kawasaki, that would be my go-to as well, but I'm really hung-up on the paddock pov view of the r3,such a beautiful little bike.
The R3 is my personal favorite
Same that and the Honda

Shimmy Eckstein does it get boring?? I’m stuck between getting a ninja 400 or a ninja 636 as my first bike and don’t know what to do
Elijah Sanders I would get the 636. No knock to the 400 though, I plan on getting one as a track bike.
@@elijahsanders7397 good lord bro lol . You're talking almost triple the power . Make sure to stay out of the high rpms till you get used to the 636 . Ninja 650 would be a good compromise. Those are good starter bikes and no boredom for at least 2 years .
@@elijahsanders7397 I'm stuck on the same decision. Have you chosen yet?
@@Cam-hk2bh don't be scared of the 636 I got a 2020 zx6r as my first bike and I am loving every second of it, kept it in low power mode with traction control to the max to start and took it easy from there now it's just cruising and learning as I go
No regrets just respect the bike, I heard that a lot and did exactly that
I have the 300R and I love it. Very good beginner bike, I am going to keep it longer than most beginners would.
and thats what its all about :)
+ Chicago Skater - the 300r is a brilliant bike and deserves a lot more love than it gets from the motovloggers on TH-cam.
Just ran a 14.7466 quarter mile with the CBR300R, at 84.90mph
Update: Ran a 14.6 quarter mile at 85.
ninja 400 unrestricted and with a full system is hitting over 50hp and is light weight Mmm im loving it :)
If only it had the flare of the ZXR400. That 4 cyl sound was orgasmic!
NinjaKat all the older inline 4s have that angry grunt to them
Definitely, but the ZXR400 specifically had something special to it. Because of the displacement it had a higher pitched sound compared to the ZXR900, it felt like a scream and on the top end that scream would break and become angry and vicious! Love that bike.
That's practically the the same power as the ninja 500 yet much lighter.
emudshit ....... HP is great. But torque is also a value. And the single cylinder KTM has a bit of torque. And delivers it’s power at lower RPMs........ Better for street riding.
The Ninja is a great machine And the fact that we have so many great “entry level” bikes to choose from is a testament of great times.
Sat on the gsx, ninja, and r3. Rode home happy on my R3. Lovin it
Yeah I heard the R3 has forged pistons. Do you still have it?.
So you didn't even consider the Honda huh...
Same here man, I even took 2 on a test ride, the r3 and a Honda 300 which by the way was trash in my opinion. Took the r3 home the same day and sold my r6 because it was a deathtrap (I tend to get brave sometimes). Never looked back!!
Ninja 400 faster and cheaper than the R3.
Marlon R if you’re buying a 300-400cc bike I’m sure speed isn’t the reason you’re buying the bike. Bought and R3 and love it everyday

Kawasaki for reliability and peace of mind
Phillip Morrison........... So..... Seriously? So what! These bikes are generally throwaway bikes. It’s a beginner bike.
Yeah, it's like our hair. Who keeps them long term right?
EverythingisFire ..... True ...... but if ur on a budget, the KTM truly needs no upgrades. Ever pay for those “upgrades”?
Saitama the Hero ...... yeah, mine is mostly gone
I think you should also compare the Apache RR310 , you gonna love it
Ninja 400 is the MOST appealing recently in that lineup!
Still love my R3. Because blurple. All these bikes, with maybe the exception of the Suzuki, are amazing for the price. You can't really go wrong in this segment.
Until Yamaha figured out they fucked up with the r3 and ordered a massive recall
You don't have to stop loving it.
Nice review, I always liked the Kawasaki's parallel twin over any single. But In india though the prices are very different, the rc390 is roughly usd 3800 and the ninja 400 has been recently launched at USD 7200.
20 hp out of the gixxer is embarrassing lol.
my 250 dual sport makes more hp
Oso 11 because it has same engine with inazuma which is soch. Btw inazuma makes 150km , this gixxer makes 140km/h max speed. And yes that is a shame.
anlkaya man... Even My 200cc single cylinder sports tourer beats both those figures with 141kmph and 24hp... What's Suzuki thinking?
Long time Suzuki fan but that thing's a mess. They should make a 400cc like kawasaki or a nice handling 300. At $500 cheaper, i would not ever buy it.
Besides, whoever is buying a smaller bike is either a new rider that doesn't want to get bored too easy, or an experienced rider that wants a track bike that is extremely light and aggressive. Like an RC390.
Oso 11 yup, its kinda pathetic
I think many of you guys are confusing the manufacturers' claims about horsepower at the crank vs real-world horsepower at the rear wheel.
Because the suzuki is just a placeholder...their first entry in the market....the honda cbr250 used to suck just as badly when it first came out.
@Michael Miller you actually made more sense at the end
This is exactly what I mean, the 1990s 400's were somehow more serious, these look like toys.
Of course cylinders over displacement
Can you do one on the beginner naked bikes including duke 390, z300, bmw g310r and mt-03 please
those bikes (z300/mt-03) don't exsist in the USA

ArthurAlcantara A retro KZ400 would be nice.
That would be awesome, and I'd buy one without a second thought.
a faired version with upright handlebars? best of both worlds. wind protection and naked bike dynamics.
praveenbec the ninja handle bars are very high compared to a supersport anyway, just like my CBR250R. All day comfortable on the open road and absolutely fine in town too. I have to admit though, I do like an adventure bike riding position so next bike for me will be a vstrom 650, or cb500x, or something like that.
Naked bikes is where small engines really make sense, but it seems the sportbike look is wooing newer riders.
Went with the R3 after watching this review back in March of 2019 only regret I have is not getting it in black
Dany Deee couldn’t agree more getting my second r3 someone pulled out on me got my bike written off..

Honestly I shopped these 2 bikes & it came down to riding them back to back. Get the ninja if you want an everyday bike with the occasional track use. The RC if you're really thinking track/racing
I love the teal/turquoise color of the 2021 Ninja.
I've actually been considering getting a 2021 and was thinking red at first...but the more I look at the teal color the better it looks.
Nice! Wish the Husqvarna 401 was in the mix even though it's pretty much the KTM. Way to go Kawasaki for the Need For Speed award!
Jamison Gillen they probably didn't put the 401 in the mix because it's not really a starter bike in the sense of price range it's roughly 10 k ...
Austin Sosna wow I can't believe either the Vitpilen or Svartpilen 401 to be 10k USA! The 701 Vitpilen will be 8-10k
Jamison Gillen take a look you will be shocked its ridiculous how much it is....I would of been down for it
Hi I've bought rc390 instead 😀❤️
do you have any update about the bike?
I watched this after i purchased my Ninja and it just made me even prouder of my choice :D
Sameeeee lol
Very well done guys, my favorite is the CBR by FAR, because of it we have the CRF300l!!!
Owned a ktm rc 125 and a 390. Most problems are solved with the seller and KTM takes care of them instantly. They even send me a KTM hat and a hoodie, because my bike had a problem with the ABS wire. All fixed now and got some sweet KTM merch.
best motorcycle journalists ever!
Manveer Grewal No... Just no. Fuck these wannabe cool hipsters.
The dyno action very funny lol
In India KTM's are msotly seen as a squid's choice no matter how great they perform. Only in some cases decent people are seen using ktm and that too mostly for long rides.
But Ninja on the other hand(whole series of Ninja and zx series) just like rest of the world is a really respected bike here as well.
Because in India KTM is selling only because they're cheap that means it attracts cheap minded crowd and the KTM fans (in India) are most toxic in the world they compares everything even cruisers with RCs and dukes and says that every bike is overpriced
R3 is best in category , i owned R3 and rode for almost 40K km. Never got any problem .
In India you could buy 2 rc 390 for the money of one ninja 400. 2.3lcs for KTM and 4.6 lcs for ninja 400 (showroom price)
Pls also do a comparison review on naked bikes!!!
I'm gonna buy my first bike at the start of next year and I was thinking of an r3 as my first bike, but now I'm highly contemplating the ninja
Buy black Ninja 400 ☺️
Go for the ninja, it's a beast for its class. Got mine last season and it's been great
Ive been using kawa since z3 and now z650 and its a beast so go for kawa
1:12 the sound came from the guy in the back
I own an RC390 and can comfortably say I think I mad the right choice it's an awesome bike with heaps of power paired with a TB exhaust system sounds really good too
I'd get a 30 year old Honda CBR400RR, 60 bhp, 60mpg, a genuine 130+mph top speed, easy to work on and quite simply one of the best bikes (of any size) ever made.
O shit bikes.....
The mc22 was such a legendary bike....
I wish honda starts manufacturing it again..😥
I would still go with honda cbr 300. It's kinda sports tourer
HONDA CBR 250RR 38.2 HP
NINJA 400 49 HP
YAMAHA R3 41 HP
RC 390 42 HP
i have a 2016 rc 390 did the fan upgrade always serviced it every 5000 and its still going good today with 48000kms in it
You guys are making the best videos in the industry I swear.
As a proud new rider and owner of a gently pre owned ninja 300, I'd definitely roll with the ninja 400. As I gain more experience the 400 will be my last bike. It's all the power I'll ever need.
8 months down the track do you still agree that a 400cc is all the power you'll ever need?
H comedy TV F
I see this review s from a year ago.... Did you get the1000 yet ??? ;(
Im getting a Ninja 400 !!!
The ninja 400 would be way more closely related to the cbr500r
in engine size alone, in weight brakes and stance it is in the little bike class.
Random Gorilla wouldn't low weight be a much better thing tho...
yes the ninja 400 is low weight like the 300 class bikes (its lighter than the ninja 300), the cbr 500 is heavier
Random Gorilla exactly right the cbr 500 is heavier which makes it slower when considering power to weight it's about the same as the r3
emudshit bruh, ride them back to back. The 500 has loads more torque. It’s faster until the very top end
