Even though he was SENT A VIDEO TO WATCH THAT DETAILED HOW ROLLBACK WORKS, he paused it, to screech like a dunce how it's bad and didn't even finish the video. Rollback removes animation frames to sync up the actual inputs of the players so it feels and looks like there's less delay. It does not in any shape or form touch your inputs. It does not do any of the following (that DSP thinks it does); - Causes lag - Deletes inputs - 'Assumes' what you're going to do next and inputs it - Phantom inputs - Drops frames - Bugs out hitboxes - The laggier you are, the easier the match will be for you - Under 30ms, the netcode breaks There's a reason why FGC players agree rollback is better than no rollback. Because without it, even connections like 60ms with slight package loss, cause jittering in the match. Making it both miserable to play and to watch. Rollback remedies this slight package losses, by removing 3 - 5 frames of a 15 frame attack to quickly sync it up for the other player. You'd assume this'd make attacks quite jumpy, but the frames play so fast that in the heat of a match, it's barely noticeable nor impactful to the game. And yes, if the connection gets 'too laggy' it'll revert to the old method of freezing the game till both clients are up to sync. Stay educated, and don't let a self-proclaimed 'veteran' of the FGC tell you otherwise! 👍

I love that to this day, he still doesn't understand rollback.
Even though he was SENT A VIDEO TO WATCH THAT DETAILED HOW ROLLBACK WORKS, he paused it, to screech like a dunce how it's bad and didn't even finish the video.
Rollback removes animation frames to sync up the actual inputs of the players so it feels and looks like there's less delay. It does not in any shape or form touch your inputs.
It does not do any of the following (that DSP thinks it does);
- Causes lag
- Deletes inputs
- 'Assumes' what you're going to do next and inputs it
- Phantom inputs
- Drops frames
- Bugs out hitboxes
- The laggier you are, the easier the match will be for you
- Under 30ms, the netcode breaks
There's a reason why FGC players agree rollback is better than no rollback.
Because without it, even connections like 60ms with slight package loss, cause jittering in the match. Making it both miserable to play and to watch.
Rollback remedies this slight package losses, by removing 3 - 5 frames of a 15 frame attack to quickly sync it up for the other player.
You'd assume this'd make attacks quite jumpy, but the frames play so fast that in the heat of a match, it's barely noticeable nor impactful to the game.
And yes, if the connection gets 'too laggy' it'll revert to the old method of freezing the game till both clients are up to sync.
Stay educated, and don't let a self-proclaimed 'veteran' of the FGC tell you otherwise! 👍

Seems like if legacy netcode was used, he would be complaining every time the lag spikes lock up his game for a few frames, throwing off his timing for attacks.

before the announcement of the collection, id watch matches of MvC2 emulated here on TH-cam. These players doing crazy combos and using high tier fighters. Those same people are playing the collection now and i aint touching the online. DSP HAD no chance EVER

I love how the last time he was talking about how much more fun the mvc collection is compared to sf6 because SF6 is horribly balanced in his eyes. Then when he actually has to play the mvc2 meta where it's basically 6 characters that infinite/mix/chip you to death he gets mad and calls players bitches for playing high level mvc2 how it's meant to be played.
