HI ODIN! looks fantastic, i use mostly apple wood and sometimes i add a touch of mesquite. have to be careful with mesquite, it tastes acrid if you smoke too long with it.

We actually looked at using apple! We haven’t done all that much smoking with this jumbuck smoker yet.
Now tell me, do you soak your wood chips before using them? So many people tell us different things lol. So the question we have for veteran smokers now is - to soak or not to soak??

@@witcheryfarm9807 i've always soaked them myself, that is just how i learned. i didn't know there was another way. i'm currently using an electric smoker. i use pellets in that unit. i like the results better with charcoal, but the electric is so much easier.

When we were getting started we saw a few videos that said soaking chips removes the flavour from them apparently. We’ve tried both ways though and seem to get better results soaking. Haven’t noticed a difference in flavour by soaking either

@@witcheryfarm9807 okay i just got some new information today i had to share. apparently soaking your wood gives you "bad smoke". they said the ideal color of smoke is bluish and if you soak your wood your smoker will produce a whiter smoke. now i haven't tested this yet but as soon as i heard it i knew i had to pass it on.

@@skitzoturtle aww thanks for thinking of us! We plan to do a brisket in the smoker in a couple of days so will have to try it this way now and see the difference now we have tried a couple of things
