As expected, Apple is rarely first to the party anymore. However, once they get there, they take over! The Apple haters that will talk this down are so close-minded, the day of beating everyone is over. The consumer want something that is amazing and working with few or no bugs out of the box. If $3,499 only comes with 8GB of RAM with 512GB SSD, I can't use it as an everyday computer. But adding more RAM and bigger SSD will drive the price close to 4K. My other concern would be about its expandability. Given that R1 can drive display with 4K resolution per eye, I would like to hook it up with external monitors when I don't want to put it on my face for whatever reason. Also the ability to be able to backup on a hard drive is a must for me as an everyday computer.
I have one comment on the WEIGHT issue of wearing Vision Pro for long time. The modular nature of the device includes detachable back strap and detachable eye-face cushion. It seems to me, Apple is leaving THIRD parties to come up another solutions of overcoming the weight of the device, especially the front heavy nature of it. Eg, it is conceivable that some third party maker might come up with a light helmet (similar to bicycle helmet) that could be clicked into the main part of Vision Pro. The much wider surface area of the helmet means the front heavy weight is countered much better over a much larger contact surface of face, head and even part of the neck. Hence longer period of wearing Vision Pro is less uncomfortable. Apple I am sure is aware that they need to keep the aesthetic form of Vision Pro as 'Apple' form like as possible even it means that they know it might not be the best solution. But they leave room for alternative from third party offerings. Otherwise there wouldn't be modular approach which is disguised behind the 'customised' need to suit the wearer's head which is impossible to apply well for everyone. If I am right, a helmet night be a good solution for overcoming the front heavy problem of Vision Pro. I for one, given what we know about Vision Pro at the moment would be fine wearing a helmet attached to the front part of Vision Pro.
I'm looking forward to seeing one or all of you attempt to use this for a day. Think like a work day on one extreme to use it a personal computer for a home user. I'm curious to see if there is usage fatigue, whether it be eyes getting tired, headset fatigue.
I think vision OS 2.0 will focus more on gaming Even tho Apple has never really been into gaming but they did show a little more interest lately with the iPhone 15
I have a M1 Pro MBP and was considering adding an M2 Ultra Mac Studio to my workflow, but I might forgo that and buy a Vision Pro just to see how well it augments my workflow since Mac apps can be extended into a larger panel within Vision Pro. I’m definitely gonna try it first before making a purchasing decision.
I just don't see this replacing a computer. I really wouldn't want to sit at my desk with a giant headset on that needs to be plugged into the wall where I can accidentally yank the power cord, or settle for the external battery which only gets 2hrs of battery life just to create a temporary floating monitor in a place where I already have a monitor. It's way easier to just sit down at your computer at a real monitor and start working. This headset seems more like a niche device to have experiences OUTSIDE of your office.... like in the living room on the couch to watch movies and check apps that are meant for quick information like iMessage or doing meetings while you're on your couch and don't feel like going to the office or being on camera you can use a digital avatar instead. Watching a movie or playing a game I'm sure will be really fun. I think one thing they are missing is if this thing is comfortable while LAYING DOWN... because that could fix a lot of the issues of how heavy the headset since you're laying down on a couch/bed and could just watch things on the ceiling or turn the dial to go into full VR. But I see this more as being an evolution of the iPad rather than a computer. You won't be doing any heavy computer work on this thing as it will just be awkward being forced into having this giant object on your head.
This is going to sky rocket , just imagine how it can help you with work , sports , movies , games , and even better iot implemented would be absolutely amazing. Be on one side of the world and work with people from all over the world
Did you guys ask about two or more people using the Vision Pro in the same room? Do they work together, meaning you can collaborate on the same thing/apps/screens? Or even watch a movie/content together in live time?
For that to work they would need to be sending each other data in realtime and i know we do that with music with bluetooth but that to me seems like so much data to do AR VR. How many Mb/s are we talking to be able to do that and not just how much data but how much latency is realistically achievable? That would be a great question to ask apple if two people is possible with decent experience and not being laggy.
The price is a lot if you’re looking at it as a headset, if you change your mindset to it being a computer akin to a Mac it’s a steal of deal for what you’re getting. I currently have a desktop and I would like a mobile workstation. This is what I am going to get for that, I’m not rich but with at least 6 months ahead of me to save I can order this before launch and I’m excited to work with the community and give feedback to make this technology better for when more people integrate it into their lives
I also think AR/VR will struggle but I hope eventually it will take off. When I saw the keynote I was like no I aint buying this but the more I read and hear about it and see it in action I want it. I know its a 1st gen device but so was the iPhone
I have a lot of questions but at this time I would like someone to explain the technology behind what you hear. Can others around you hear what you’re hearing? Do we need to buy an Apple AirPod max or whatever the headset is called for full immersion (for those who do not use or like earbuds)?
I disagree with ol girl, it's not going to be a struggle at all. There are too many people who make fat paper these days and look at $3,500 as pennies. I don't know why so many people think this is so expensive. It's not like it's 500K for heaven's sake. There are lots of people spending $3,500 on Macbboks every day; so why is this any different?
I love this panel. Describing their perspectives and thoughts on all the new new and nothing against Sara from last year(she’s awesome) but I’m a big fan of the representation here. Dunno if it was intentional but props for that Brian!
They talk about things like wearing it for recording live 3D, like at a birthday party and the strange thing it could be. This device is the Pro version because it integrates ALL, it’s a computer on your face, but I bet the idea will be that the whole ecosystem will be evolving so it works all together and yes, for example at a birthday you record stuff on your phone that will NOW have stereoscopic cameras (one at each side to have the separation between the cameras, just like our eyes, or maybe with the LiDAR sensor to create that two different images, but the real thing captured would be with stereoscopic cameras), so you can capture those events the way you usually do that is not that strange and has to be so planned and prepared like to get the visor on, and doing this kind of stuff: part of the work is done with your other devices, the Apple Vision Will big necessary have to do all the stuff and will work wirelessly connected to your iPhone, your Mac and then it will be a lighter, cheaper, much more comfortable device to use, but still very funcional, since yes, you could use your iPhone fue the computing resources you need for the Apple Vision to do whatever you want to do using the iPhone, and you can carry it anywhere, but also you can sit down at an office, at a coffee shop, at your desk in your office and then connect to your Mac and use OTHER resources, other apps for working or whatever you do with your Mac using the Apple Vision, it will become the interface. At this moment it needs to be the whole thing, a complete device so developers and the very same Apple can explore all of the possibilities and yes, to develop apps that will be able to run from those other devices and be used with the Apple Vision, to integrate the different platforms: MacOS, iOS, watchOS, iPadOS and tvOS with VisionOS, and yes, this way the device will be smaller, cheaper, more comfortable but no, it will not change the experience in any way, actually will be able to grow even more according to the device you use it and the kind of things you’re interested in, the things you use those devices for.
For me the thing about the digital persona is that you’re not going to just go ahead and do FaceTime casually with relatives wearing that thing. But when you’re collaborating on something or sharing experiences and the face you’ll look at is not the main focus, it makes total sense. Unless they come out with something like a virtual full body presence there’s NO benefit for the user to see the other people in a FaceTime call through Vision Pro. But productivity scenarios..I’m all for it.
I have to say they usually when I see 46 minute video. I don't watch the whole video but I do not feel like this video was forty six minutes because I truly enjoyed it thank you very much
There were so many things happening, but it was great, still can't beat a Dolby Atmos/Spatial audio over the ear headphones, but it was very goof. I don't know how much the sound spilled out where it would be distracting to someone nearby, but we moved a Facetime video call around, and adding that element of hearing people from specific locations corresponding to on screen made it more immersive.
I’m what you’d call a fan boy but even I was like very skeptic about it but when I actually saw the keynote I was damn! So I can only imagine how awesome to actually try it out must be
I can’t believe it just dawned on them about the avatar thing vs real self. Most people I know hate FaceTime because they feel self conscious about how they look on video. Throw the thing on and walk around doing stuff without holding your phone up, which is exhausting.
I wish my brain could process how this product can improve in the long run. Keeping the same experience, while making the device smaller? So compact that it replaces our phones? I can't visualize it happening for at least 30 years.
The price is half that of the Varjo XR-3 (its nearest competitor spec wise), which puts it in a different perspective. Is it aiming at the exact same audience? No, but I think that device’s target market is closer (based on the media) to the Vision Pro than other VR headsets are.
There will definitely be an option for Apple Card installments on this. Hopefully over 24 months and not 12. I can stomach 150 a month and hold off on upgrading my other Apple stuff since they are all relatively new anyways.
The AirPods Max are 0.85 lbs. so I assume they can make it work. I wear the AirPod max for 8-10 hrs a day. When I travel I carry 2 external batteries that are 99Whrs, so the weight of the battery in my pocket or travel vest should not be an issue.
Dear Brian, I appreciate you when you're being a bit over the top, and I love your comedic talent, but this serious and composed manner of a regular conversation suits you very well too. I thought the exchange was really good! Keep it up!
I get that the interface and experience are next level, but I really want to see the next level practical uses. Remote operating of vehicles/drones? Practical training for welding, surgery, etc.? 👍
I think one question that was not asked or answered is can you share it ? For the price, Can this be shared in a household or do you have to buy multiple
I hope that not only will phones be able to take spacial photos and videos., but iPhones will be able to view them as well. I know the images won't be in stereoscopic 3D on the phones, but a viewer with a parallax effect would allow you to view your results, or view content captured from the Apple Vision Pro.
If this Vision Pro is really life enhancing life changing I will buy one even I have to go into debt to buy one. Will wait and see first by early adopters and users to get their reactions comments first to decide?
To track your eyes, they shine an infrared light into your eye that you can't see. The light bounces off the back of your retina, and is then focused by the lens of your eye into a beam. They then have sensors that pick up the reflection to determine where you're looking. As far as price, most devs and creators already are spending thousands of dollars on our computers. $5,000 for a fully kitted MacBookPro. If this could replace my MBP? I'll trade mine in, and $3,500.00 would be a steal.
Well if Apple does bring the new version of VisionPro for the average consumer and at some affordable price like $999 Vision Lite M2 trust me you’ll see plenty of people walking around wearing the headset, with using augmented reality layers and promotional features from stores around you in a city, people will be stupefied by it.
Everyone's talking how awkward it would be to take videos, while wearing the headset. When I was a boy, my father would run to the other room and grab his 2 lb video camera with lights and a microphone on it... Or even his regular camera with a huge flashlight , to capture those "special moments". .... All held up to his face with both his hands and arms. Pffff
At $3500, it will only be for people who can afford cutting edge tech. During that time, people will try it out at the Apple Store or try a friends. The minute that SE model come out at $1500, lines will return! Actually I think lines will be there at launch, but it will be full of early adopters.
There won’t be a “worse” version. This first “pro” version will become the cheaper option. They’ll come out with something better for the future pro version.
Can't wait for this to come out! Count me in on Day 1. On the custom glasses, Oculus Quest has this already. I have custom glasses for my oculus. So it's not new tech. But man Vision Pro takes a lot of this to the next level. The Apple ecosystem is the biggest sell for Vision Pro honestly. Quest is soooo clunky.
At $3500 is it future proof, because the only way I can justify spending that much is if I get like 5 years use out of it before feeling like I need to upgrade the hardware.
I love everyone on the panel, but TechMeOut is so underrated. She gives a great perspective on all her videos

I think vision OS 2.0 will focus more on gaming
Even tho Apple has never really been into gaming but they did show a little more interest lately with the iPhone 15
Nice thoughts from tech allstars!
Amazing
The woman in the center gave such a great insight. She’s so right!
You all have me so excited to try Apple Vision out!
You mentioned a lesser version! How about a Pro Max version? Better camera, better battery life, or something even more high tech.
This is going to sky rocket , just imagine how it can help you with work , sports , movies , games , and even better iot implemented would be absolutely amazing. Be on one side of the world and work with people from all over the world
Quest 3 will be a lot better for games because it's hard to do games without controllers.
Great convo, great ettiquette, great to hear all the experiences! Thank youBrina and crew!
I love this panel. Describing their perspectives and thoughts on all the new new and nothing against Sara from last year(she’s awesome) but I’m a big fan of the representation here. Dunno if it was intentional but props for that Brian!
I ask many creators and our schedules are busy so people are welcome but some people can make it, some can't. It's CRAZY busy for all of us.
I don't watch the whole video but I do not feel like this video was forty six minutes because I truly enjoyed it thank you very much
Thanks for watching and I'm glad you enjoyed it!
I might have missed it, but the TH-camr reactions didn’t discuss the audio experience wearing the Vision Pro headset.
So I can only imagine how awesome to actually try it out must be
I kept reminding myself you mean the opposite when you say, "This is stupid!"
Vision Pro is 1lbs so you can definitely wear it all day long.
It took them 5000 patents to bring out this technology. Its good to hear other people's perspectives. Very eager to try out this headset.
I wonder how many hundreds of patents for the creepy eyes.
Dear Brian, I appreciate you when you're being a bit over the top, and I love your comedic talent, but this serious and composed manner of a regular conversation suits you very well too. I thought the exchange was really good! Keep it up!
I'm versatile baby :)
I get that the interface and experience are next level, but I really want to see the next level practical uses.
Remote operating of vehicles/drones? Practical training for welding, surgery, etc.?
👍
Anything is possible with this thing, and the developers are going to make those things happen.
@@briantong thanks for the reply! That’s where I think the REAL magic is going to be revealed…
…and THATS A GOOD APPLE! ☀️ 🍎 ☀️
I think one question that was not asked or answered is can you share it ?
For the price, Can this be shared in a household or do you have to buy multiple
The big question is, how many industries and devices will this decimate and create?
What would it decimate?
21:31 didn’t miss me that it’s named vision pro. I “vision” there being glasses or like you said a lesser version.
Amazing talk Brian!! PS: What's your black and yellow jacket? What brand is it? Looks cool!
this is so dope! y'all are so fun to watch
Love this Panel! Great job brian!
No bro don’t go in debt over it 😂 just start saving now put 150 away weekly or something don’t GO INTO DEBT
@@rick03168 I’ll be using my capital one bro I couldn’t get a Apple Card 😤
how was the sound on the headset, can other people hear what you were listening to?
I’ll probably wait until they get it down to Rayban size sunglasses. I don’t mind the battery pack. So guess I’ll be waiting for 10 years.
Do you have links to these other peoples channels?
To track your eyes, they shine an infrared light into your eye that you can't see. The light bounces off the back of your retina, and is then focused by the lens of your eye into a beam. They then have sensors that pick up the reflection to determine where you're looking.
As far as price, most devs and creators already are spending thousands of dollars on our computers. $5,000 for a fully kitted MacBookPro.
If this could replace my MBP? I'll trade mine in, and $3,500.00 would be a steal.
I really want to know what effects this will have on someone's eyes and vision
Well if Apple does bring the new version of VisionPro for the average consumer and at some affordable price like $999 Vision Lite M2 trust me you’ll see plenty of people walking around wearing the headset, with using augmented reality layers and promotional features from stores around you in a city, people will be stupefied by it.
this woud be great for deaf people and oeople with particular vision impairments and mobility impairments?
⭕️THIS VR WOULD SAVE ME LIKE £10k it’s worth it, even for a first gen⭕️
Everyone's talking how awkward it would be to take videos, while wearing the headset. When I was a boy, my father would run to the other room and grab his 2 lb video camera with lights and a microphone on it... Or even his regular camera with a huge flashlight , to capture those "special moments". .... All held up to his face with both his hands and arms. Pffff
Portland, JAMAICA in the Building!!! 👑🇯🇲🔥💥🌟⭐💯💎
KRIEEEEEEGER!
that connected wire kind of stops me from getting it, on top of it being only 2 hours with it.
At $3500, it will only be for people who can afford cutting edge tech. During that time, people will try it out at the Apple Store or try a friends. The minute that SE model come out at $1500, lines will return! Actually I think lines will be there at launch, but it will be full of early adopters.
It will be lines for it at 3500, it will sellout quick.
@@tallflguy Like segway LOL
Yay so cool!!!
SO MANY APPLICATIONS 🙌🏾
There won’t be a “worse” version. This first “pro” version will become the cheaper option. They’ll come out with something better for the future pro version.
They will support controllers. They have indicated the event rate for the gestures are not best for games or fast typing.
I want to try it out as well!!!!
What about age, is there a limit like psvr2 where it is not recommended for kids under 12?
There is enough people who has the money and want the first. It will sell out.
Great company learn from mistakes made by others.
At $3500 is it future proof, because the only way I can justify spending that much is if I get like 5 years use out of it before feeling like I need to upgrade the hardware.
At that price it needs software support for 10 years. $3,800 after tax for 5 years of support isn't enough.
I'll probably use the trade-in
