    As the owner of this build, I have to give Jim a huge thanks, I just unboxed these today and they are already getting lots of compliments. I've never been a big ferrule guy, but his choice to go with that BB&F ferrules was spot on. They make a great transition from the orange shaft to the hosel.
    Jim is a true craftsman, watching the detail and care he puts into his work is truly appreciated. Jim, I'll owe you a bourbon or two of your choice, in Pinehurst this summer for sure!!
    Thanks Buddy!

    Got fitted last Saturday for the Mizuno 923 pros and I’m so excited to get them in. Love watching the process and all the thought that goes into it all. Love the video!

    I really enjoyed watching you build these clubs and love the Halloween themed shafts. I hope Rob likes them and can't wait to hear his opinion on them.

    This shafts are sick! Throw on a dope ass orange with chrome rings ferrule on it and bam! Maybe even some orange grips! Dope especially if dude has a bright orange glove! Sick I’m all about colors on my sticks and their are some sick ferrule options out there (tho pricey)
    I’m absorbing so much from you thanks old school

    The easiest way I've found to install the BBF ferrules onto a parallel shaft is to let them sit in hot water. The water from my faucet comes out around 140 so I take a cup of that, throw the ferrules in before I get started assembling, then take them out one by one with a fork. They slide over very well plus it will be kind of "press fit" onto the shaft after it cools. This also prevents a beginner from destroying the ferrule using a torch. Of course, I use epoxy as well.

    I noticed that you didn't peel any of the two sided tape off. What type of tape are you using. Ive always put it on the shaft then peel off the cover. I must have the wrong double sided tape. I enjoy watching you build clubs. Thanks for any explanation.

    Another great video. I love the fact that you are using shaft alignment now. I'd love to see some MOI matching to ensure consistent play with your client's sets. I assume that the club heads have been adjusted for length, loft and lie according to your players specs. Thanks for the great videos!

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have alway used shaft alignment unless the golfer asks for label down. MOI has its place too, I can’t verify it a solid method but other club guys really like it

    Jim, I enjoy watching your videos. I noticed you mentioned they were custom clubs, but didn’t mention anything about their flex or length. I know you’re a proponent of frequency matching, but nothing was shown in regards to that. Maybe that was your intention. Happy new year to you and you family!

    • @CarolinaGolfer2
      @CarolinaGolfer2 ปีที่แล้ว

      He actually did. Mentioned the I95 SteelFiber are firmly in the mid section of Stiff. Also mentioned they were 1/2 over in length.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      in addition to RCs comments, I do typically match the flex however when the shafts are taper tip and in discrete lengths that is not possible. I do still monitor the flex I just cant match them

  • @harrykorver9690
    @harrykorver9690 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very nice! May i ask a question? You said a 95 gram steelfiber is in the stiff range. Would you say a 110 gram is even stiffer? Got the 110 in my mp20mmc as a stiff. Healthy 2023!

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It would be my opinion the 110s would play stiffer. Now a 370 tip shaft can be manipulated better for flex.

    What solvent are you using for gripping? Great video, good detail.

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the standard solvent form golfworks a citric base fluid

  • @cabebe21

    Is also using hotwater works to make the ferrule softer and able to be manipulated?

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      probably using a towel would work

    Can you reshaft PXG without colloared ferrules? Do I need a brass shim or will centering beads woek fine? I have customer ferrules and they are not "collared"...

    • @kotogray8335
      @kotogray8335 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You don't ever have to have collared ferrules. Just filling the void with epoxy does the same thing

    How much bigger are the Mizuno 923 Hot Metal HL vs. the regular 923 Hot Metal irons ? I saw that I could order the HL version 2° strong. This just feels like an amazing option for forgiveness and a bit of added distance. What are your thoughts ? Are the regular Hot Metal almost as forgiving ? I know they're stronger lofts.

      The high launch model has a bit more offset with a slightly wider sole. The actually size toe to heel is the same

    Your channel is okay. Like many others, you feature equipment that most of us can't afford or just can't get. I got some of my stuff from Golfworks, but they've become very unreliable due to constant unavailability of almost everything that I need. In this video, you show something that most of us can't get. I buy my stuff from Monark most of the time because it's always available, even though not the highest of quality. Show me stuff that the common man can do. I need to build a shaft for a Tour Edge E722 driver. What's the best adapter for that and where should I start?

    • @McGolf
      @McGolf  ปีที่แล้ว

      trying googling tour edge E722 shaft adapter, there were 2 places of availability

    • @McGolf

      Not many folks would know the ventures. Loved the music, it is a standard music from TH-cam.

      @thehaughtcorner ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@McGolf Wasn't aware there was a TH-cam Audio Library; I see it now. Name for this one? Thanks also for the videos and tips. I only build clubs for myself and my wife, but have learned a great deal from your channel, and it has helped me have confidence that I can get the job done. Best endorsement I can give McGolf is that my wife really likes the set of clubs I built for her, in large part based on what I learned here!

    Don't like the orange paint on shaft. IMHO makes them look a bit Costco-esque.

      Orange on the color wheel is least like. This combo does look good though
