    Watch this video and see how you can replace your Sennheiser HD580 HD600 HD650 HD660S and Massdrop HD6XX headphone headband. It's an easy installation after you get past the fact that you can disassemble these headphones models with nothing more than your hands. Any questions leave a message :)

    Important thing to note here, maybe you can add it to the description to help others avoid the time I wasted doing this. The arms that slide into the headband are in a separate slot from the padding. I tried everything to squeeze the replacement pads in and only on close inspection realized that there is an upper slot for the metal part to slide into and a lower slot for the plastic pad spine to slide into.

    • @urniurl

      Thanks for that! I also found it helped by taking the earpiece frame out completely, inserting the headband in, then putting the earpieces back in underneath.

      Well said, lesson learnt, somehow my metal was in both slots which made the job a little more cumbersome, until I remembered what you’d said :).

    For 660s users you dont need to remove the whole capsules to replace the headband. Just pull them away as much as possible. Pull away the little plastic detachable part on either side (those with CE and recycle logo on it) with the help of a tool. They come out easily. Slide the old band out from the side you removed the plastic part. Slide the new one in. Push the plastic back in with your thumbs and ta-da.

    Thanks for the vid! I found that I did not need to remove the earcups from the headband. I could just extend one all the way and I had enough room to slide the headband in and out.

    It's much simpler. Pop off one clip (with a breakfast knife, yes), then pull out that earplug, pull out the old headband, slide the new one into the slot you pulled the old one out (note there are two slots: one for the earplugs and the other for the headband) then slide the earplug back in and click the clip into place.

    I have a pair of HD580 Precision cans, where the headband frame has split in two! Is there a way to get a replacement frame as well as the foam headband?

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Check ebay or Alibaba for an hd650, hd600 etc frame. You can also buy them from Sennheiser directly I believe.

  • @DimonON2

    I have a HD600. Each speaker can be rotated relative to the headband by several degrees. The headphones fell from my desk to the floor, the height was low, and the floor was not too hard and, at first glance, I did not find any damage. However, later I noticed that one speaker turned, as if too tight (sometimes even a little creaking), and the other, as if too loose (I want to tighten it). Questions:
    1. Should the speakers turn slightly tight or loose?
    2. Does anyone know how to disassemble and adjust the connection of the headband and the speaker mount frame (I don't know how else to call it)?

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  ปีที่แล้ว

      My speakers are quite loose and easy to move.

    2:40 Do you know where to find replacement little plastic clips? I need one as the other is missing, one of mine says "Made in Ireland" the other isn't there so the headband almost slides off all the time.

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Unfortunately I do not. You can try Sennheiser directly and maybe request the clip from a newer model (like hd660s) as the clip is the same but often customer service won't know this and older models won't have as much product support options.

    Is there a way to replace any of the plastic parts like yoke (HD 58X)? I broke mine and am really not ready to pay half of the headphone price just to get another headband shipped from the UK.

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I am aware you can buy the headband and yokes direct from Sennheiser. You might find them on Alibaba too.

      @@accessoryhouse I contacted Sennheiser a while ago and they straight up refused to sell me spare headband because mine is a MassDrop product. And MassDrop basically said I am out of luck since it's been years since I bought it. Well, I learned to not buy headphones from Drop anymore. Ordered a HD560S on discount, while I put my 58X drivers for future use...
      Do you know if HM5 headbands work with the drivers with a bit of wiggle? Those things are pretty cheap. Not sure why no Chinese seller is willing to make HD 600 knockoff headbands.
