    Excellent video, thank you!
    I got a pair of the perforated sheepskin AHGs, they did arrive with scrims, but I put the original ones back anyway. As someone with a small head (sometimes taking childrens' sized hats) I found that the AHGs did make a difference. Yes, the headphones aren't very tight, but they're definitely giving more of a clamp now, in a pleasant way. It stops the headband from resting too hard on my head, which usually happens because the clamping force isn't enough to stop the headphones sliding down. It's a very large headset.
    I did notice that the better grip did mean that the headphones did feel a bit warmer than usual, but that's to be expected anyway because of the different materials.
    Soundwise I did notice a tighter bass, but it's very early days and I haven't really had time to listen to much yet. I'm looking forward to giving them a full workout!

    I left the scrim in the cup while attaching the new ear pads on the HD800S, worked out fine. Initial impression is that they feel more comfortable than the stock alcantara pads. Thanks for posting this video!

    I've had the HD 800s for some years now so the original pads had to be replaced.
    Bought these in march 2022 and can confirm the build quality is good if not great. 😊
    They add some bass in the low frequencies but they narrow the soundstage a bit (or more?).
    They require far less cleaning than the original ones, aspect which is truly wonderful. 👌
    Nonetheless, since I wear my headphones literally every single day, I thought of cleaning them up for the 1st time, with the New Year and all.
    Nonetheless, after carefully watching the video a few times, upon removal, one of the pads broke in 2 places.
    I found that that they attach much harder to the frame compared to the originals, thus requiring far more significant force to remove. 😑
    The plastic thing didn't help me much.
    I also have small hands and thin fingers so I could feel which was what inside.
    The 2nd pad I managed to successfully remove using a small-size flathead screwdriver. 🤗
    I used to clean the original pads once every month, max. once every 8 weeks (depending on the season) so I'm quite familiar with the headphone's design.
    It's quite a pity they broke because I truly enjoyed them on several levels. 😔
    A bit disheartening...

      I described my problem and they offered to replace the product, no questions asked.
      Once they verified my initial order they promptly sent a new pair which arrived just fine to the destination.
      Hats off to AHG for such excellent customer support!

    Hi, I’d like to know if the perforated sheepskin version of these affect the sound signature of the HD800? Is the soundstage affected as much?

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are designed to let the air through the material so that it is similar to the alcantara. Of course everyone hears things differently but I find these sound more like originals

  • @topaz5960
    @topaz5960 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Looks promising, is it possible if you guys made a version with like a velour material that comes in contact with the skin? I like she touch of leather when i hold it and I like how the shape resembles the original one as well but I am so used to the soft alantara type of material touching my skin. I think a good reference would be the hybrid material types from the Hifiman Ananda. If you guys can adapt that combination of material I will buy! Good job!

    Can anyone comment on how these change the sound signature, stage, imaging on HD800S? Also do these add any clamp force? I love my HD800S but hate how easily they move around when I turn my head or look down. I feel like I’m constantly adjusting them.

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You will notice a slight bass increase. Ear pads are not as porous as alcantera material. So you may notice soundstage change. So far only positive e feedback and no glaring changes from what I read from customers. Clamping forse would be similar, I have not made pads thicker than originals. Any time you change ear pad materials there will be a degree of sound change but nothing has been reported as bad so far.
      Thanks

    Do you need that mesh thing inside the headphones? Will it sound clearer without it???

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It might change the sound. The mesh is there to protect the driver from dirt etc. So if you do not use it you need to be mindful of keeping the headphones stored away or on your head :)

    Are these real leather? Also do you have any offers or promo codes I could use to buy these? Thanks

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello, these are real sheepskin leather on the top and inside but the sides are a high grade protein leather. The reason for this is that real animal skin cannot be heat welded to plastic. I do not have a promo code but I am charging about 40% less than sennheiser does for the alcantera originals. So it's a steal :). If you tell me what country you are in I can link you. Thanks

  • @trilingualkid
    @trilingualkid 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I do not think thats true, the type of material matters alot and it is not due to your ear getting use to the sound signature...people that roll earpad a lot will know, leather will produce more pads than materials like valour, so beware.

    • @accessoryhouse
      @accessoryhouse  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      We will have to agree to disagree. An old degraded material and foam will sound different to the same ear pad that is new. Materials matter as you said.

    • @trilingualkid
      @trilingualkid 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Accessory House I agreed old and new will be different due to material aging and used however different type of material on ear pad will also change the sound.
