    I have the arrows viper, and it’s very clean assembly and reliable.
    It’s the jet that gave me confidence going bigger EDF.
    It’s a very kind jet if you have someone to launch it for you. Since it’s tricky to launch if you use 2200mah batteries (6 minutes flight time which is awesome for a jet).
    Cannot wait for more arrows planes reviews, but for me it’s one of the best value for money brands.
    I hope that one day we will see Motionrc products on this channel.

    I love how you do your videos with flight, build & setup!!! Some other R/C channels would rather just do mostly unboxings because they're too lazy to get out to the field. Unboxings are sooo boring. Thanks Brian!

    I've owned a few Arrows planes. Good quality at a great price, even now for the most part, after the ridiculous price hikes. The cell count can get a little fudged with smaller sized batteries. Easy to pick up the wrong one and not realize it.
    BAE looks like a nice flying plane. Good stuff Brian and camera crew. AirHammer out!!

    Ive built mine tonight and plan to maiden tomorrow. Wish me luck! Your video is what led me to the aircraft and the content is much appreciated. A big thanks to you and Megan. I unfortunately couldn't use the link due to shipping prices and it turns out my local model shop had one. The ones available in the UK don't appear to have the vector stabiliser so I banged a dumb OrangeRX 6ch receiver in that I had lying around, bound to my Radiomaster. Ive gone for the larger end of the battery range which is 2200mAh 3s instead of 1300mAh and it balances OK. Interesting titbit for you....the ESC is rated for 4s after researching the spare parts but I'm not sure if the motor can handle 16.8v. I'm not risking it for a while but might try a 4s someday. Ill let you know if it works.

      I flew mine on 4S and it was very nice!!!
      GIVE HER HELL WHEN YOU GO TO LAUNCH -100% throttle...don't screw around, or you will end up broke in half!!!!!!!!!!!! (I did that too, and we flew it around ripped in half - it was a great little video, but not sure if we'll share it or not)

      An update on the maiden. I treated myself to 4 batteries and I had 4 successful flights. Its a stunning flyer. Fast, aerobatic and patriotic. Being British it actually attracted a small crowd at my field. It was like a minature version of an airshow here in the UK. Quite a few inquisitive people came over and asked lots of questions about it when I had finished. When I do a maiden I take a second aircraft just incase, and I took the UMX A-10 V2 which I bought after your review too. I had a great time and once again, thank you.

    I find the easiest way to launch these is using the throttle cut. Switch on throttle cut, push stick to full throttle, right hand on stick, model in left hand, flick off throttle cut with right hand, launch with left under arm, have full control of elevator and ailerons from launch this way.

    It works on a 2200 3s really well - in the UK we do not get the Vector unit - it does not need one.. it glides really well - also its strange but we have dialled down the aileron movements...not increase them....The Arrows T33 is another awesome jet that they do...

      Hello FT been watching your flights interesting "grass bounce launches"😉. Got this nice model 2 weeks ago but been surveying YT videos observing its quirks and characteristics before I maiden mine. Overall Im very happy with choice. Cheers 😊

    • @howiedenton2709
      @howiedenton2709 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It did look like the 2200mah battery made it hard for the Hawk to get on step and contributed to the grass bounce take offs. I can imagine flying it at the upper battery size/weight limits made the aileron roll much more sensitive than at lighter/smaller battery weights. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sno - I'd have to disagree - I LOVE rudder ;) I don't think they add problems, but they DO add some cost and some complexity. That being said, the ability to slip, and speed rolls is very nice.

      I seldom fly with a gyro, after watching this video I'm going to purchase this, through your link and probably try the gyro on a 6 channel receiver. I got totally confused watching you program the 4 channel receiver. I don't think my DX7 has the program capabilities that the NX Series has.

      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's all about trying to help folks save a few bucks, but like I may have said, the 6CH would make it a lot simpler. This would also add the ability to make an inboard flap mod too ;)

    Hey Brian love your videos and awesome flying skills. Could you tell me what the vector connections are please? UK model has no vector so I bought separately but no instructions on how to connect the unmarked pins to the servo wires/throttle ! Thanks in advance

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I can't tell you beyond what you see in the video.
      Here's another trick. Hook up the Rx as usual, then hook up ANY cable...and see what control CHANGES when you wiggle the plane. When you do this, you only have two control axis to figure out...and the Rudder will be unused. When you're out of control channels, you can assume the last would be the Control for Stab/Off/Auto-leveling.

Thanks for all the work that you and the Mrs put into your video's, keep it up and Stay safe.

    Hi Brian love the video, what about providing some links so that UK purchasers can benefit from the Vector stabilization? At present we are forced to buy aftermarket stabilization eg Lemon or Spektrum which adds considerably to the cost £30-£80, therefore it's worth paying shipping from USA to UK.

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I know....we have the same issue, only with REFLEX on FMS - gotta be a branding deal.
      If you can't get the Vector...get the AR630 - this would be PERFECT for this little firecracker ;)
      AR630 bit.ly/3lh5iqD - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + INTERNAL Antenna
      AR631 bit.ly/3pYNC3c - AS3X & SAFE with limited telemetry + EXTERNAL Antenna
      ....slightly more involved setup, but you'd get benefit of flapperons, if you wish, and would be CLEAN ;)
      Thanks Kevin!

      You could! These little 50mm EDF's are a great first time, but I have to admit, I usually suggest the Habu, if someone is asking. I think the 50mm Habu is a perfect beginner offering, plus you'll get wheels up and wheels down experience on a cheap to battery plane. This BAE Hawk will be fun, but it doesn't even have a rudder, and no wheels up wheels down to help you learn the "ways of EDF" ;)
      Just my 2 Cents...

    Hi Brian! I could use some random help. Generally speaking is it acceptable to use a 50c battery in place of a 30 c? My plane says I can use a 3s or a 4s. But I’m confused on on the c rating. I’m under the impression that as long as I don’t go get the 4s then I’m good? If you have a video on it I’ll check it out but I didn’t see one on the guidelines/perimeters so to speak. Regardless, you’re the man!

    • @BrianPhillipsRC
      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      YES 50C is okay in a plane that calls for 35C, but a 25C pack in the same plane might lead to a puffed lipo pack, or possibly poor performance, or both, or in a worst case scenario, a fire!
      50C is better than 30C, and 30C is better than 20C. The ONLY time you don't want a higher C rating would be in a transmitter pack, where you want to hold down the discharge rate to make the battery last a really long time.
      Generally, the higher the C rating, the better the quality. They can cost more, and sometimes are a BIT heavier, but the higher C rating speaks to the batteries ability to discharge quicker...which is a good thing. you want to be able to move the charge from the pack to the plane's ESC ASAP ;)

  • @snoriverrc3842

    I dont know why they sent you a 2S battery. All their 50mm EDFs run on 3s, and are being run on 4s by many people. I havent tried it yet because I dont have a 4S 1500.
    Despite this being a beginner edf, lots of advanced pilots like them just because they are stress free fun.

    Awesome Brian, I only had to wait one extra video before you did the Hawk. Getting this one for sure as I’m a Brit, I grew up watching the Red Arrows at air shows and events in England. Living in Colorado now and flying at 8750’ above sea level. In your opinion did you think the Hawk had a powerful or weak 3S power system..?? Thinking I could run this on 4S (1300-1800mah) with a 75/80% throttle rate to protect the stock 30 amp esc. Hoping Arrows have sent you the twin 64mm F-15 already..!!

    FAR, and I mean REALLY FAR for me to ever give you suggestions, but since the ArrowsRC Viper came out I’ve been flying that 50mm on 1800, 3s, 70c. Since I had a bunch, I maidened and have continued to fly the T-33 and Bae Hawk on the same 1800 3s batteries. (4 minute flight times on all three EDF’s. I’ve flown the baby Viper on 4s 1300’s. Not a lot of difference in performance with less flight time)

    Hi Brian and Megan
    Sorry, this is another very very long one so please leave me to last do all the rest first and then come back to me when you have the time to do so.
    I have given you another thumbs down NO JUST JOKING I have given you a very BIG THUMBS UP.
    Now that I have got off of my very high horse I hope it is water under the bridge between us, what you didn’t know was somebody in a car park had driven into my car and just drove off causing a fair amount of damage and my day seemed to go from worst to worst and the following day as well when got how much it was going to cost me so I am very sorry that I went OTT with you and Megan you took the brunt of it.
    I know that in the past that I said that I was not interested in EDF jets and after thinking about it the one EDF jet which I wanted in my collection is the red arrows hawk.
    I thought you might be doing the red arrows hawk from what you had said in one of the comments between us.
    I was hoping it was going to be the FMS one BUT I saying that now you have sold me on this one at the price I don’t think you can beat it, Just one question would a 3S 2200mA battery fit in it and if so do you think it might be too heavy for the plane or not ?.
    It sounds that sometime in the next few years you might do this full time so I think you better think about building a fully kitted out workshop and warehouse to house the planes because you must be getting pretty close to kicking the kids out of their bedrooms making them sleep in the living room so that you can store more planes in their bedrooms even now (Just joking about the kids).
    If you did do it full time then even maybe you could have your own brand how about calling it Megan Planes sounds better than Brian Planes don’t you think with added value that it’s not far away from Mega Planes.
    Seriously think what you could do for the hobby if you did it full time the sky’s your limit.
    I don’t want to blow your trumpet BUT I have not found another TH-cam channel like yours not only do fly the planes (Sometimes a bit crazy) but while you fly them you let us know your thoughts and what adjustments you need to make them fly better, Then when you do the assembly which is, of course, is the first thing to do not only do you highlight any problems which you in counter but also any cock-ups which you make on the way so that we won’t (All except for one) and then the transmitter/receiver set-up, So what I am trying to say is that you do a complete package which I can not find anyone on TH-cam doing the same.
    I always keep forgetting to say that I love your cats, I have an RSPCA rescue cat he must have been very badly treated before I had him, I think he won’t trust any human 100% including me I have had him for just over 3 years now and I would say he trusts me about 95% now but I wouldn’t be without him now.
    Steve (NOT STEVEN).
    PS Brian don’t forget Megan is always right mate and don’t you forget that !!!.

      @BrianPhillipsRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Steve! Sorry to hear you had to deal with that car accident! So annoying!!! I just helped my brother fix his truck from being side swiped in a gas station by and uninsured motorist.
      As for kicking the kids out of their rooms, we have a few more steps before that happens - LOL
      As for full time work here on TH-cam - Can't wait to make it a reality, but lots of growth needed to earn the security we'll need before I can take the plunge ;)
      As for being complete in our coverage, from Unboxing to flying, to adjustments and even the crashes and mix up's along the way, I thought people, including future me looking back, could get some insight from watching HOW we arrive at certain conclusions...and not just watching me follow through the process uninterrupted, and in perfect order, like that of a Spektrum video. I prefer dragging everyone through the learning process, and I realize this is probably lost on much of even our loyal audience, but when you're NEW, it's gotta be somewhat helpful. We're very glad you are getting good from our effort! Thanks for sharing the reassurances that things are cool between us. I know it seems a bit strange, but even though we have quite a lot of people watching and supporting us, I hate to lose someone over such a silly misunderstanding...better we'd part ways over a more meaningful disagreement ;) LOL!
      We're glad you're here with us Steve (not Steven - I gather you must have wanted Steve, but TH-cam had given it away prior to your account???)
