They need to erase One More Day from canon, restore Peter & MJ's marriage, and make Mayday Parker canon. That's the only way to save Spider-Man comics.

Peter is constantly written as a bit of an old soul who uses outdated references frequently and actually isnt super familiar with social media and the like. Pete saying anything remotely similar is out of character, he was always an old man in a young mans body when it came to stuff like that he was bloody referencing abbot and costello in the 2000s😭 Not to mention that It adds some charming characterisation. After all Peter, such as Clark, was raised by an older couple. And as someone who’s read EVERY comic of Spider-Man this line/ reference is simply OOC to me

So we've finally reached the point where Peter has been put through so much shit by Marvel that the only thing left to do to him is physically torturing him. Also, I feel like in a better story we'd get something similar to Spider-Man Vs. Firelord where Peter manages to beat this Cyntros loser through sheer willpower and anger because he's the goddamn Spider-Man and would tell Dr. Doom to shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
I kinda liked this even if it's not perfect. One issue in and Peter already reads better than he did under Zeb. I didn't realize how much I missed the inner monologues, it makes the book so much more enjoyable when we actually get to see what our protagonist is thinking.
Why they want to kill Spider-Man 8 times? Does they really hate him that much? He's been through so much over the years: He lost his uncle, lost the loves of his life, been cuckolded, cloned, killed and buried, made deals with the devil, had his body taken over by villains, suffered mutations, been persecuted by the press, is no longer the only spidey in town and worst of all, he's still poor.
Imagine having the world's most popular superhero and being on an absolute war path of a campaign to break him down, kill him, and replace him with a diversity hire Nobody writes great new superheroes these days, the only way they can achieve success is by riding coattails and grandfathering themselves in. Well, at least it isn’t Zeb writing the book anymore. I’m honestly questioning whether or not killing off Peter was Joe’s original idea, or if it was mandated by Nick Lowe. Whatever it was, I think Joe is trying his best what with him bringing back Peter’s interior monologue, but it is still a bit early in the run to take a definitive stance. The new suit is…well it’s something. It’s definitely not the worst suit out there (I like the silver), but it is definitely an odd one. I have a feeling this suit is going to be forgotten pretty quickly though. I hope this story will be good, but if it isn’t…I hope we survive it.
I really just hope that this story arc is at least okay at best throughout the issues, we need something that’s actually tolerable in asm. The start was okay enough imo, the suits pretty odd, can’t wait for insomniac to once again not put in the sensational suit probably in favour of this one

And maybe Doom will tell others that Spider-Man died a hero, saving billions of lives, and maybe he won't. Doom's time is more valuable, after all. At least if he's dead, Peter can't be tortured anymore, least of all by his editors via Paul.
I’m genuinely curious if Marvel would allow a writer to go back and do more with Spidey pre OMD. If he can’t marry MJ in the current timeline, would they let someone cook with a peak prime Spidey and then we might just be able to collectively love the run as a fandom? And change Marvel’s mind once it sells like gangbusters? There HAS to be a way to right this ship even if it is sideways and upside down right now

Jonah Jameson publish Peter Parker's book "Webs" in "ASM # 304" publication date 5/10/1988? Didn't Peter do a tour to promote the book while he was already married to MJ at that point? Nick Lowe and the rest of the idiots at Marvel have no clue about the History of this character. Their only goal and objective is to continue to ruin this character by further humiliating and deconstructing Peter Parker AND Spider-Man. Why isn't Peter continuing his work as a Scientist? Didn't Norman Osborn leave him his company during the Zeb Wells run? What happened to that storyline? This is horrific writing. Shay must be one of the most terrible love interests for Peter Parker in the 62-year History of Spider-Man. She's even more lame than Debra Whitman. Her 1st appearance was back in "ASM # 196" (September 1979) right after Felicia Hardy/The Black Cat appeared in "ASM # 194" (July 1979). Heck, I'd rather see Debra Whitman return as the love interest than Shay. I admit I thought the "8 Deaths of Spider-Man" was going to be a completely different storyline, so Kelly surprised me there. However, way back in "The Spectacular Spider-Man # 158" Spidey goes Cosmic as he gains Captain Universe's cosmic powers. The book was released with a cover date of December 1989. Yet, in this case, we see Spidey die 8 times. Whhoooppppeeee!! Cheese and crackers can these buffoons at Marvel write anything good? I have to somewhat disagree that there could be potential with this miniseries. Why? Because why would Nick Lowe post a tweet stating he apologizes to the fans Paul wasn't in this issue. Why does Paul need to be in any of the "ASM" issues? Even MJ shouldn't be part of the supporting cast in this book. Who needs to see Peter as a total cuckold? I surely don't. Mother Fudger! That's exactly what I thought seeing Lowe the total imbecile's tweet. I wouldn't be surprised if Nick Lowe wants Paul to take over the Spider-Man mantle from Peter when the next writer takes over. Hickman unlike Lowe actually cares about what’s come before it, in the promo image for the Christmas special we see MJs sister! When’s the last time we’ve seen her?! That era wasn't like the garbage we have today in TSSM and ASM. Her 1st appearance was in "ASM Vol. #1 #259 Release Date September 4, 1984, with a cover date of December 1984. and her last appearance with her kids was a cameo in "Peter Parker, Spider-Man Vol. # 1 # 19" Release Date May 14, 2000, Cover date July 2000. "ASM # 259" was where Spidey fans learned about the back story of MJ Watson and her family. I commented before, that was the issue where I knew Spidey would break up with Felcicia and MJ would be his girlfriend. I didn't agree with it then, but when MJ and Peter were married in the "ASM Vol. 1 Annual # 21" release date of June 9, 1987, and the Cover Date of September 1987, I thought it was the right move for Marvel. Gayle hasn't been seen in any of the Spider-Man books since then. All information is confirmed through either Wikipedia or another great site called Fandom. Honestly, what's the point of this story? Like, I know Peter isn't really going to die(Die for real), obviously, so is his death supposed to be funny or something? The concept of him having to face these enemies in a challenge is ok, but we also know that it won't have any major consequences. And besides, it's just a transitional arc, which makes me have no motivation to continue reading. Totally pointless.
Marvel died years ago. Only natural that the hacks they have making thier products now would try and spit on the legacy that literally pays thier bills. And when enough people stop giving them money, they will all have to go out and get real jobs to replace the dream jobs they squandered.

Well this story was better then zeb wells Spider-Man but honestly that’s not really saying much mostly because well we are still trapped with awful status quo that hasn’t been interesting with Peter Parker Spider-Man for decades and frankly I can’t do it anymore. Also side note I really want back both Mary Jane and Peter Parker Spider-Man to regain everything they lost and have there marriage return and find there daughter mayday Parker spider girl alive and kicking over this mess of a story which isn’t interesting in my opinion.

I have no idea how to start this but I sorta know so let me get this straight. After the disaster that was Zeb Wells's time working on the comics, they get a new guy in the form of Joe Kelly to take over. This already is a huge responsibility and to recover something that burned for years to make something good out of it is a difficult task! It's like if the person who was ruining the story of your favorite hero finally got fired after you yelled at them for hiring him for years, only to have YOU replace them and expect YOU to make a perfect story that would give this entire fanbase hope for better days! In the comic Peter Parker is a mess. He's failing at everything he was tasked of doing, died due to a task that DOOM was too busy to fulfill as the Sorcerer Supreme, got reincarnated in the most painful way possible, and gets told by the guy who did the entire thing BY HIMSELF that he has to do it over and over again to protect the earth from it's end. But for a second...think about WHY he's failing to do things right. He dropped everything he was supposed to take to the apartment because he had to SAVE someone from falling, he dashed to the bathroom and went to get help to understand what he should do from the most trustworthy source at the TIME, he SACRIFICED himself to end a threat to protect the people he previously failed and so many others...getting a pep talk in the end in the form of the guy who knows how to do this RIGHT. He's struggling at every corner, doing whatever he can to save people around him despite the consequences of his own life choices hitting him down the line, and not having second thoughts or hesitating for a SECOND to do the right thing. So in my opinion...this ISN'T a bad story for Spider-Man, it's another day in the life of Peter Parker. And THAT is what the comics need! Not a Spidey who's constantly winning or failing, but a Spidey who's acting off of reason and responsibility.

There have been good stories since then. But in the bigger picture, things are not changing anytime soon. And even if in like 5, 10 or 20 years they somehow do you've still got all the baggage there. And all the chance in the world that the next writer or higher ups in line will change things for the worse

Also, I feel like in a better story we'd get something similar to Spider-Man Vs. Firelord where Peter manages to beat this Cyntros loser through sheer willpower and anger because he's the goddamn Spider-Man and would tell Dr. Doom to shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
I kinda liked this even if it's not perfect. One issue in and Peter already reads better than he did under Zeb. I didn't realize how much I missed the inner monologues, it makes the book so much more enjoyable when we actually get to see what our protagonist is thinking.

Well, at least it isn’t Zeb writing the book anymore. I’m honestly questioning whether or not killing off Peter was Joe’s original idea, or if it was mandated by Nick Lowe. Whatever it was, I think Joe is trying his best what with him bringing back Peter’s interior monologue, but it is still a bit early in the run to take a definitive stance.
The new suit is…well it’s something. It’s definitely not the worst suit out there (I like the silver), but it is definitely an odd one. I have a feeling this suit is going to be forgotten pretty quickly though.
I hope this story will be good, but if it isn’t…I hope we survive it.
I really just hope that this story arc is at least okay at best throughout the issues, we need something that’s actually tolerable in asm.

I have to express a caveat on how this "ASM" miniseries will progress. I say, "Don't be fooled" that this issue is bearable. As I stated in my previous comment, the ruination of Spider-Man/Peter Parker continues. 17 years and counting. Why would Peter Parker need Randy Robertson to be his manager? He's a photographer! These morons at Marvel are writing this character with complete cringe. "ASM" is complete and utter garbage. Didn't J. Jonah Jameson publish Peter Parker's book "Webs" in "ASM # 304" publication date 5/10/1988? Didn't Peter do a tour to promote the book while he was already married to MJ at that point? Nick Lowe and the rest of the idiots at Marvel have no clue about the History of this character. Their only goal and objective is to continue to ruin this character by further humiliating and deconstructing Peter Parker AND Spider-Man. Why isn't Peter continuing his work as a Scientist? Didn't Norman Osborn leave him his company during the Zeb Wells run? What happened to that storyline? This is horrific writing.
Shay must be one of the most terrible love interests for Peter Parker in the 62-year History of Spider-Man. She's even more lame than Debra Whitman. Her 1st appearance was back in "ASM # 196" (September 1979) right after Felicia Hardy/The Black Cat appeared in "ASM # 194" (July 1979). Heck, I'd rather see Debra Whitman return as the love interest than Shay. I admit I thought the "8 Deaths of Spider-Man" was going to be a completely different storyline, so Kelly surprised me there. However, way back in "The Spectacular Spider-Man # 158" Spidey goes Cosmic as he gains Captain Universe's cosmic powers. The book was released with a cover date of December 1989. Yet, in this case, we see Spidey die 8 times. Whhoooppppeeee!!

That era wasn't like the garbage we have today in TSSM and ASM. Her 1st appearance was in "ASM Vol. #1 #259 Release Date September 4, 1984, with a cover date of December 1984. and her last appearance with her kids was a cameo in "Peter Parker, Spider-Man Vol. # 1 # 19" Release Date May 14, 2000, Cover date July 2000. "ASM # 259" was where Spidey fans learned about the back story of MJ Watson and her family. I commented before, that was the issue where I knew Spidey would break up with Felcicia and MJ would be his girlfriend. I didn't agree with it then, but when MJ and Peter were married in the "ASM Vol. 1 Annual # 21" release date of June 9, 1987, and the Cover Date of September 1987, I thought it was the right move for Marvel. Gayle hasn't been seen in any of the Spider-Man books since then. All information is confirmed through either Wikipedia or another great site called Fandom. Honestly, what's the point of this story? Like, I know Peter isn't really going to die(Die for real), obviously, so is his death supposed to be funny or something? The concept of him having to face these enemies in a challenge is ok, but we also know that it won't have any major consequences. And besides, it's just a transitional arc, which makes me have no motivation to continue reading. Totally pointless.
Marvel died years ago. Only natural that the hacks they have making thier products now would try and spit on the legacy that literally pays thier bills. And when enough people stop giving them money, they will all have to go out and get real jobs to replace the dream jobs they squandered.

I have no idea how to start this but I sorta know so let me get this straight.
After the disaster that was Zeb Wells's time working on the comics, they get a new guy in the form of Joe Kelly to take over.
This already is a huge responsibility and to recover something that burned for years to make something good out of it is a difficult task!
It's like if the person who was ruining the story of your favorite hero finally got fired after you yelled at them for hiring him for years, only to have YOU replace them and expect YOU to make a perfect story that would give this entire fanbase hope for better days!
In the comic Peter Parker is a mess.
He's failing at everything he was tasked of doing, died due to a task that DOOM was too busy to fulfill as the Sorcerer Supreme, got reincarnated in the most painful way possible, and gets told by the guy who did the entire thing BY HIMSELF that he has to do it over and over again to protect the earth from it's end.
But for a second...think about WHY he's failing to do things right.
He dropped everything he was supposed to take to the apartment because he had to SAVE someone from falling, he dashed to the bathroom and went to get help to understand what he should do from the most trustworthy source at the TIME, he SACRIFICED himself to end a threat to protect the people he previously failed and so many others...getting a pep talk in the end in the form of the guy who knows how to do this RIGHT.
He's struggling at every corner, doing whatever he can to save people around him despite the consequences of his own life choices hitting him down the line, and not having second thoughts or hesitating for a SECOND to do the right thing.
So in my opinion...this ISN'T a bad story for Spider-Man, it's another day in the life of Peter Parker.
And THAT is what the comics need! Not a Spidey who's constantly winning or failing, but a Spidey who's acting off of reason and responsibility.

It being the original main series does count for alot don't get me wrong. Nothing can invalidate that
But to be more specific I don't understand staying invested post one more day. 17 years on. There have been good stories since then. But in the bigger picture, things are not changing anytime soon. And even if in like 5, 10 or 20 years they somehow do you've still got all the baggage there. And all the chance in the world that the next writer or higher ups in line will change things for the worse

Regardless, he's still the main Spidey. Yeah, Marvel has done a lot of damage to him and his mythos via Slott, Lowe, and Wells.
But we at the very least keep tabs on the guy, praying that one day, things will get better.
