    you can never have enough pastel colors, they are hard to make with the full saturation pencils and I use them to blend rather than white. I use my red, purple, and blues up all the time. I will have to take a look at this

      @@ColorfullyOptimisticI love pastels but don't want to spend an arm and a leg on a set with standard pencils that don't fit my color pallete. Purples and oranges for sunsets, blues for the sky and the sea, greens for succelents, reds and pinks for flowers and browns for animal fur. While I love lava, umber, vermilion, verdigris, navy, olive, maroon, burgundy, evergreen, midnight and indigo I never use them in coloring.

    Yay to a pastel pencil comparison. I'd be interested to know how the various brands blend within their range, but also with other popular pencils like prismas or polychromos. Particularly the latter as they don't have much in the way of pastel colours, so which set would be the most compatible extension to the polychromos range? I'd be very curious!

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Very interesting idea. Though most brands already have pastels hidden within their sets. Prisma, for example, has quite a few pastel colors already in their set of 150. But, it would be fun to see what blends together.

  • @CrystalsColorStyle
    @CrystalsColorStyle ปีที่แล้ว +3

    I ordered these too even though I knew they would most likely be the same as all the rest. I did do a side by side on these to the Brutfunner Macarons and the colors all matched exactly. They did change some of the names to original ones though. At least they did spelled all the color names right. That's always a plus in my book 😅

    • @ColorfullyOptimistic
      @ColorfullyOptimistic  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, most of the colors will be identical in any set, just because you can only make so many pastel colors out there. Astra Pastelowe and Holbeins match up almost identical as well.

    • @CrystalsColorStyle
      @CrystalsColorStyle ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ColorfullyOptimistic The Brutfunner Macarons were made to dupe the Holbein pastels. I'm pretty sure kalour gets their pencils made by the same factory as Brutfunner. They will usually just have some of their sets private labeled, that's why they will have some minor cosmetic differences and nicer packaging.

      @@thefrugalcrafter they're def not all true pastels. I just finished swatching. As expected there are overlapping colors as other sets, then they have a few colors that are slightly different mixed with a few bright colors. Also, I got the Brutfuner macaroon pencils and funnily enough, I did Not choose those because of reviews, or price, or anything like that. I got them because they came in a cardboard sleeve instead of a tin, and I did not want another stupid tin to guilt over bcz all the pencil tins I get end up in the donation pile or the recycle bin. If it's cardboard, I'm more likely to reuse that (not for pencils though), and if I can't, there's no guilt over putting cardboard in the recycle pile.
