A brilliant video on the topic. This is the only video I've seen so far where the difference between drill types is explained, and where the insertion AND removal of the anchors is shown. Great job and cheers! :D

Update: Just drilled into my concrete wall and put in my anchor! :D The first anchor attempt did not go according to plan, but that's where the latter part of this video came in handy xD

In addition it is always good practice to blow the powder out of the hole after drilling as it is always essential to securing every anchor. Nothing worse than when a anchor has been placed and then does not grip due to grinding when the screw is turned in. At least I have been praticing this for decades and found it improves my success when mounting objects.

G'day Bill. Great video. With the dyna-bolt, if possible, you can drill the hole slightly deeper than the bolt is, so if you do have to remove what you fitted later on, instead of grinding it off you just tap it further into the hold and fill over it. This has been helpful fitting my gun safe in rentals. Cheers.

Thought Ai would have a rack at it myself and was going to use a dyna bolt but will give the anchor screw a go.

Will the anchor screw still hold well even if it hits a cavity in the bricks? Ive often used them at work but in solid concrete rather than hollow brick. I need a super heavy duty option to mount a barn door rail.. I mounted solidly with large dyna bolts and I was very happy with how strong they felt however after a year or so the weight has pulled the rail from the wall ever so slightly that the bottom of the door skims the floor now.. trying to decide if I plane the bottom of the door or rework the fixings even stronger somehow. Wether that be replace or modify. Love the way you present these videos by the way. You seem like you'd be a great bloke to have a beer with 😀 👍

The Ramset screw is not all that new been using tapcon screws for years and it depends on how much what ever you are hanging weighs on what set you use also you need to be careful with the ramset / tapcon easy to strip out the holes

The screw with the white anchor is not a Phillips head, it's a Pozidriv head.
There may be times when you need to reuse the same hole. You can remove Dyanbolts if you drill the hole about 1/4" deeper than the sleeve before setting it, but it can be a PITA.

I don't know how much drill I should insert inside the wall, what if I insert it 1 cm more than it should be inserted Or if I have to insert that plastic caps inside the wall and it takes a little more space. What's the measurements for that? I have a drill machine just bought it and it has a ruler on side but still doing holes with assumptions. How to do it perfectly like you did? You didn't mention how much deep the bits should go in the wall.

A quick question whilst I'm here, I drilled 4 holes into an internal solid wall for shelf brackets, but the holes are a bit off even though I marked it correctly. I now need to drill another 4 holes slightly higher and to the left. How far apart do the holes need to be from the first set of holes to avoid weakening the new drilled holes?
Also, any advice for drilling holes accurately without the drill bit wondering off? I'm thinking off using a much smaller drill bit first and then working my way upto the 8mm bit that I need. Thank you kindly.

Great video and explanation! I'm considering hanging a very heavy, granite, fireplace shelf on my brick fireplace wall. I plan to use the heaviest possible forged steel brackets (with a lip to hold the shelf in), but is there any danger the weight would still strip out these Dynabolts? The Dynabolt web page shows the large bolts will hold thousands of pounds, but I guess I'm more worried about the brick failing rather than the bolt breaking, or the steel bending... Do you have any advice?

I can't believe hardly any of these videos on concrete screws doesn't mention the drill bit creating the pilot hole has to be a size smaller than the screw. If you use a 1/4" drill bit with a 1/4" screw, it ends of being loose. If you use a 5/16 screw, you need to use a 1/4 concrete drill bit.
