    Great video!
I tore the ACL 19 years ago. Now! The meniscus 😢 no surgery for me.

I had a knee injury 6 wk ago. MRI shows a severe medial meniscus tear, Baker's Cyst which is leaking and a bone bruise. A triple whammy. My DR is unsure about surgery, but, the pain is extreme. My DR did mention a cortisone shot, but, I;m glad I watched your video, and seen the different alternatives. An xray no arthritis which surprised my DR, so that is a plus. I think I will wait as everything is not anywhere near healed yet and I'm afraid I'm in for the long haul. THXS!

Knee tears are painful - our very own Dr. Mike knows that better than anyone. We definitely recommend looking into regenerative medicine to help with the natural healing process. Good luck! If you're close to us in Leominster, MA call us to make an appointment if you'd like a second opinion!

I had heard that the epidural is not approved by the FDA for use near the spine because it is too dangerous . It also speeds up bone loss , damages cartilage and tendons making people life long patients, but doctors have been doing it for decades. The last one I had paralyzed my right leg and foot with skin sensation loss and was admitted to the hospital. I couldn't even wiggle my toes. I was terrified it was going to be permanent. Thank God it wasn't. I will never get another one . I've had about 15 epidurals along my lower lumbar spine and I've never gotten any pain relief , but I now have severe osteoporosis and bones that are to soft to repair. I fractured a vertebrae from doing nothing and now a large part of my spine is very damaged. Im 50 years old and have taken lots of vitamins . Be aware of the complications, very serious risks and consequences of the epideral injections.

Cortisone basically makes everything weaker and although it gives temporary pain relief. It does a lot of damage. In my country there's no alternative treatments that the orthopaedic surgeons provide. Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy and a special kind of growth hormone injection that doesn't have side effects like normal growth hormones.Has also helped with healing some cartilage and makes bones thicker 😢 then there is stem cell therapy. None of these are available where I live😭 Doctors think I'm crazy if I don't want cortisone shots. Yes I want pain relief. But I don't want to destroy my body further and make it even weaker. That would be very unwise. Don't understand why USA spend so much money on to exploding space. When they still haven't figured out a way to heal cartilage completely. Which is without a doubt much much more important!!!

The more we can educate the public, the better treatments we can provide in general. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

Can a cortisone shot cause anxiety? Thx

Hi! They can cause some neuro side effects - like mood swings or anxiety. They usually go away within 1-2 days. Another reason to stay away from cortisone shots altogether and seek a more natural route like the regenerative medicine injections we offer our patients for joint pain and arthritis. Any questions, feel free to give our office a call (978) 537-0555

I'm bone to bone both knees. Cartilage even in the back of my knees worn out. Had cortisone shots 2 days ago. The pain is remarkably better thank heavens.

@tiazadobbs7475 I got shot in my wrecked thumb and it was bliss. For a day and a half. Now I'm in what seems like more pain 😢

This is true , I've had numberous cortisone epidurals in my lower lumbar area and now have severe osteoporosis everywhere I had an epidural. The last one paralyzed my right leg and foot for 30 hours ! The feeling came back , but worried it was going to be permanent. Fast forward some years and the orthopedic back surgeon wants me to get more epidurals, I told him my story and he still pushed me to get more cortisone epidurals .. No more injections in my spine for me. Do not get cortisone spinal epidurals , they do speed up bone and joint damage and will keep you a lifelong patient. I've gotten more pain relief from my chiropractor, try it , you won't regret it..
