"Choose Me" -- a song featured in the Netflix original movie "KATE" and the HBO Max series Peacemaker as BAND MAID, has so many great RnR chops, it's kinda unbelievable. From Saiki's old-school phrasing, cadence and a super soulful vocal at the end; MISA's driving bass, her special riff after Kanami's brilliant, rocking main solo (complete with harmonic pinch), and her pulls at the end of the song that really funks it up with Akane's drumming; to Kanami's original composition, off-beat octave stretches during the verses, and her addition of a second uncomplicated yet super tasty solo; to Akane's unique snare & tom flurry that launches the choruses; and to Miku's octave-down, in & out vocal backup and lyrics... all makes "Choose Me" a throwback rocker that surprised me when I first heard it - and I'll bet most anyone - that they would come up with this western-style, rock 'n roll classic. Of course, after years later, it's not surprising at all coming from this important band of geniuses who are, along with The Warning band, almost single-handedly bringing back the joy of rock. You might find it interesting to watch mikus growth from not playing guitar at all in thrill where it is just an ornament with that rickenbaker to where she is now it follows how they have evolved as a group over the years
My favorite Band-Maid songs are their Pop-Punk style songs. Dice, Different, Alone, Choose Me, etc. I think Saiki's voice is best suited for these types of songs. I think you should react to Alone if you haven't yet.
I choose Band-Maid! Forever a Maidiac! Saiki is extra gorgeous in this song, especially with her wink! The whole band is on fire, but two Mincho solo's, none better!

Founded in 2011, they were in the second wave of all-female heavy-metal bands. They have a classic twin-lead attack and technical rhythm section. Their tiny bassist even growls. They’re scheduled to release their new album “Born Again” on June 28, and it’s a banger. This song is the reason I discovered Band Maid. It was in the playlist for the show Peacemaker, and I always enjoy the random selection of music that James Gunn puts in his movies and shows. It's not the first song I heard, as I didn't have spotify and instead Amazon music had "Sense" so that's the first song I really listened to, and it hooked me. I think you'd enjoy it too, they have a good live version up that's worth listening to.

I've said it many times- If Saiki was to sing in English she would be world famous by now. Strangely they have just release a new song- Bestie- sung completely in English. The rest of the band are also at the top of their game so World domination may be possible. Best rhythm section- Misa/Akane, best song writer/singer/guitarist- Miku and best composer/ lead guitarist- Kanami.

For their Ten-Year Anniversary show in November Saiki sang a ballad version of "Choose Me" and accompanied herself on the piano. It was magnificent.

Saiki does have the perfect rock and roll voice without growling or screaming, which she never does or needs to.
She does have a nice occasional vocal fry tho a happy Saiki is a Growly Saiki.

There is no question that Saiki's current vocal tones is much better than previous. Her voice has matured, richer, fuller, stronger.
