The only band I've seen that is playing live like bands I went to see in the 70's, such as Led Zeppelin or Sabbath or Zappa. Music they write themselves, real guitars, drums and bass played loudly and with passion as well as powerful Rock vocals. They are all really close friends and know how to have fun together on stage, confident as they are in each others’ abilities and skills. They've revived the classic Rock sound and given the genre a much needed kick in the ass. Future reactions I'd recommend would be their entire back catalogue and anything they make in the future!
Jimmy Page saw them play a few years ago . He talked to them after the show and told the drummer Akani that she was best drummer he’s seen since John Bonham
@@lonerangerak5232 That used to be the legend for many years after their backstage meeting in 2016 when Jimmy asked Akane for a selfie. But she's confirmed that all he told her he was impressed with the band.
I've seen them live twice here in the states, including playing this song once. The venues are smaller, with less production, but these ladies are as incredible in front of 1000 people as they are in front of 10,000. This is one of their more "metal" tracks, they tend to be more hard rock, but the awesome musicianship is always there, they are always fantastically written and interesting to listen to, and catchy af. If you want to hear that drummer shine on her own a bit, I recommend Freedom (Live). But really, you can just go to their page, pick a random song and it'll be great. It may be unexpected, but it'll be great.

The most amazing thing is that the lead guitarist has composed over 130 songs, and the rhythm guitarist has written the lyrics. Furthermore, there are no boring songs in this song. Their songs are diverse, so please enjoy them.
A couple of suggestions for your next service of Band Maid would be the live versions of Don’t you tell me and Manners/Black hole live . Manners\Black Hole show the versatility these ladies bring . I hope you love these songs like we all do .
I've seen them three times live, and each time was an affirmation that life is good. Some people have seen them more than a dozen times, and that makes sense to me. A lot of their fans are professional musicians, which also makes sense. Enjoy the journey, you may never return!

The history is very long and the obsession started in 1966 when Beatles visited Japan and held 5 concerts at Budokan. Speaking of hard rock / heavy metal music, a number of bands started to come to Japan since as early as 1970s : Led Zeppelin / Grand Funk Railroad (1971), Deep Purple (1972), Queen (1975), Kiss (1977), Cheap Trick / Van Halen / Scorpions (1978), Judas Priest (1978/79) and so on. ★ Your favorite Metallica's first visit to Japan was in 1986. Now, any type of rock can be enjoyed here, especially by many all-female or women-fronted bands. They are daughters of American / European rock, for sure. (Many are grand-daughters in terms of age.) Uh-oh, we also say "Japan is the country obsessed by Jazz". It had started earlier than rock 😄

This show was the final serving of their 10th anniversary tour and clocked up a huge 3.5 hours! I've seen them live four times now and they are quite honestly the best gigs I've ever witnessed!
For reference, this is an incredible performance of a song that isn’t even in my top 30 Band Maid songs. Here are my top 3 (today) 1) DICE (OMV) 2) Moratorium (LIVE) 3) Blooming (OMV) The music is awesome, and discovering all their personalities and history is even better.
Miku on Rhythm Guitar and Backing Vocals couldn't even play guitar when she founded the band. If you watch their very first Music Video she's just holding her guitar as a prop. But after she realized she wanted a heavier Lead Vocalist for the sound she was looking for, she also needed a second guitarist. So rather than hire a sixth member to BAND-MAID she had Kanami teach her how to play, while singing in a working band. Quite a feat.

This is why you want to attend one of their Okyu-ji's (translates to "servings"), what they call their live concerts, as their energy is through the roof. GenX- Where the hell have you been? I Thought you knew your rock and roll? The MAIDS have been rocking it now for 11 years. You need to catch up! Just kidding GenX. I only just discovered the Maids four months ago. But what a discovery! We should both be slapping these other guys for not telling us about the Maids YEARS ago! They were hogging the maids all for themselves! For the most part, BAND-MAID’s live videos are the preferred way to watch them. Here are a couple of exceptions where I prefer the music video: MANNERS (a more bluesy song) SHAMBLES, DICE, and WARNING ((Hard rockers with great video production) Secret Maiko Lips (alternate version of Secret My Lips where the Maids are dressed in beautiful traditional Japanese “Maiko” outfits and makeup.) THRILL - BAND-MAID’s first (and almost LAST!) music video. Their recording label had intended to drop BAND-MAID. Then “THRILL” got over a million views within the first few days of its release. That convinced their recording label to reconsider dropping them. BAND-MAID: The band that almost never was! The THRILL music video is also notable for two other things: 1) it shows the band in their original outfits (complete with AKANE’s tiny hat,) and 2) it shows MIKU using her guitar as a prop for the video - she had no idea how to play a guitar back then! More BAND-MAID please!
....and Miku is a pretty damn good rhythm guitarist that provides a solid backing to let the others shine like they do. Not to mention her backing vocals, and the fact she writes most of the lyrics..... ....and Saiki's voice just 'fits' the music so well, and as her confidence has grown she has turned into a brilliant lead singer, with great stage presence. Without ANY ONE of them the band just would not be the same. They are all equally as important.

Best rock band in the business right now. They're just unimaginably great all the damn time.

My last concert before seeing BandMaid twice in 2022 & 2023, The Cure in 1997. It was a long 25 years, and I almost gave up.

Don't try to put the Maids in one genre. They wrap pop, punk, prog, thrash, rock and metal into one big beautiful mash up of music. They do it all.
