Hi Ruri, I used to try Pomodoro but didn't work for me either, I found that I can focus and study for more than 25 mins as I wanted to finish the topic that I was studying. Now, I find that studying for 50 mins, taking 10 mins break for 4 sets then taking a long break for 30 mins really works for me
btw I've noticed that your voice is covered by the bg music for a few mins from 06:58, I thought maybe bc of editing. Anyway, your content is always really helpful 🤍

I hope you are doing better, I am also learning English, but it is so hard way to learn. Yes, but I really want to speak English fluently and then I want to talk my friends more deep topic like anything. So I need more studying. Oh I’m Japanese by the way. Learning new language is hard but let’s hard work to get each other’s!

    • @chimeiamv

I definitely feel this. I've been stuck in the intermediate slump for a long time and for some reason, it seems vocab and new concepts just don't want to stick in my brain anymore. Also, kanji and reading has become tedious as all hell. I sort of relate to the part of the video where Ruri says that even though something is your passion and you love it, you may not want to touch it for a while because of how much of a grinding process it can be. I want to trust the process but it's just so dang hard at times. Best of luck to you.

*Thanks for this video Ruri, you sound like a real person, what I mean with that is that you're not a T800 who can keep studying 24 hours per day without getting distracted, this makes when we hear you sound like a person who has his weaknesses and how to face them, but I want to say you what I learned from my art teacher and is focusing has a limit per day like the Bullet Time from Max Payne and when you get distracted your using focus without knowing so maybe that's why sometimes we don't have enough concentration for our works, keep making this videos they are very useful 👍*
*P.D: In the minute **6:00** the background music sounds a little bit loud and doesn't understand what you are saying, but I think maybe is just me.*

good tip! I tried to focus on watching and listening to what you said in this video, but I got so distracted by the background music playing around 7:20.
One good tip from my experience is to remember to breathe regularly or take a few deep breaths after a period of time.
I often hold my breath unintentionally when I'm too focused on a task, such as watching a movie or driving a car through a crowded city.
my friends or colleague would think I was giving a long sigh and raise their concerns about my depression. lol

I'm very excited to watch this as it's something I need to learn and I sincerely thank you in advance for making this video.
But on a side note, you can see how long people watched your video on average right? You have to tell me in a week or two or whenever you feel like you have a sample group of views how long most people watched it. I just feel like this is the type of video that people watch but then get distracted because it's about learning and focusing lmao

NOW I have an EXPLANATION as to WHY the Pomodoro method DOESN'T work for me

It has been difficult for me to focus on my studies, so I tried multiple things in order to solve that. Since I enjoy company (the presence of other people studying) a lot and I don’t have friends, I have been loading videos on TH-cam of people who are studying silently in front of their windows with a few breaks (mostly slight rain is heard in the background and them doing their work). It has been really helpful for me.

Very helpful content, yet again, so thanks. On the other hand, as in many other videos, I wish there was no background music as I find it harder to concentrate. Could you make two sets of videos, one with, the other without?
