This advice is really really good (for neurotypical brains) I have ADHD so we initially lack dopamine. It becomes harder. Building a routine is really hard, we hyperfocus in the thing that we're not supposed to do today (like a sudden burst of dopamine then proceeds to clean my whole room and just forgets my 500word essay assignment or I hyperfocus on scrolling through social media. An ADHD brain is just built dofferent. I really hope I can atleast take small steps forward to reach my goal.

    Ruri, I'm 28.
It's been more than a year since I graduated from my university.
So last year was a chance to do something.
Since my grades are really bad, and I took two times more to graduate than others, I already quit applying for corporations/companies.
(plus, I majored in design, so it is really hard to get into big companies.
although my univ. was ranked top 5 in Korea... art majors, we don't have much chance.
big companies recruit a small number of designers, and other little companies will give a really small amount of money)
I always had a dream to be a cartoonist or an illustrator from a very young age, I finally got time to prepare what I really wanted to do.
So... I sat in front of my computer, I draw every day.
    I mean, I tried.
    It didn't go well.
As my grades can tell, I was not a good student for my whole life. I only did what I wanted to do, I was not good at handling my impulse.
And I'm kind of didn't care about all those self-developing books and quotes and all kinds of things.
I am a really self-concentrated person that only believes in me and tries to do everything all by myself -so needless to say, my life went wrong.
And most of all, I have never done things that need long-term effort.
My best friend once told me to "see the future and go for it," but I never, really not in my whole life, couldn't see my future.
I mean- if I imagine it, it's not a future. Not a prediction, or even a plan.
It all was just delusion in vain.
I learned how to give up and not to get hurt all my life.
But I couldn't do that once more, so I tried harder.
I woke up at 7 am every day, I focused more than 10 hours,
I could see that I improved.
But it ended after two months. Then I could see why.
That times that I was super focused, I did what I can focus on.
To achieve my goal, I have to do so many other things more than I can focus on -those I don't enjoy.
So I'm struggling and wandering for more than 6 months.
I know that the only way is just doing it, so I try to do my everyday task whether I do it super little.
So Ruri, today was the perfect time for me to watch this video.
Throughout my whole life, I was looking for motivation, creativity, and the perfect time.
Though now I know that those things are poisonous, when I got stuck, I kept looking for them.
But by watching you, I got surprised by how (this is really hard to find the right word) firm you are.
You're following your rules, trying to find the way, keep yourself busy... that is just amazing.
I mean- you're so much younger than me! I know, age doesn't matter, but still... you're a truly respectable person.
When I see your videos, I really get encouraged. I get the strength to do something.
This month I was so devastated by how lazy and unmotivated I am.
But I'm gonna keep going. I'm gonna finish what I planned and gonna show my work to the world.
🤍🤍🤍Thank you Ruri, you are my role model🤍🤍🤍

Let me say something to you. I recognize in your description that you are a person that has difficulty to adapt in normal society. Not because your are uncapable, but because you are a visualisation type of person. You like to live in your dreams and create your own thoughts. However, in our world, education is based on listening to information and applying rules straight away. You have difficulty doing that because you spend your time creating your own rules, so you are not living in the present time and not focusing on the information that people are asking you to swallow. Actually you are a great person, capable of leading the world and inventing things that people havent thought about because you are a creator. But people around you don't understand that so they treat you like a "slow" or "uncapable" person. The result is also that you get boared very easily with the traditional education system, therefore you have to struggle to get results.
Just remember that you are struggling in life because you are constently doing 2 things in the same time : visualising you own thoughts, and in the same time trying to follow indications. I know because i am the same. To get successfull you have to follow your own learning system, if you manage that you will be brilliant. I took time to understand that, and it is certainly worse for you because korean system seems to be very competitive and very harsh on students. Because of competition, people only look at results, however results don't tell anything on your personality. I think what you need is not to "struggle even" more, but to have people understanding you and explaining you who you really are, that will give you a boost in confidence.
Last thing you have to remember is that you are capable of reflecting on yourself, that is a proof that you are smarter than average.

    • @gemagic6457

I swear, the school learning system is so broken for people like us. It's more about getting good grades than learning stuff, actually, getting good grades is a skill in itself. And so even if we know things, but not the way they wanted, we get bad grades and just think we are not worth it, we are dumb, not good at anything. But that ain't true, i've seen people who were bad at school succeed very well in life. So yeah, don't let school make you feel like shit and think you are lazy, it's just that people are different and learn differently, just gotta find your way of doing things. Stay hard !

I know that for my part, I do things the way I like, however we must also take into account that in a field even if we like, we are always faced with obstacles and we tend to impose ourselves when it is is the will that must come into play to be able to succeed. The main thing is to improve even in small things. Very good video !

I have not listened this to the end yet, but I think the best long-term motivation is just to love someone and something. This is such a good feeling that gives you really great power to overcome all of the problems. You can call it like long-term motivation, but I call it Love.
For example, I have started my YT channel half a year ago, and I do love to share the information with other people, to discuss old films and SciFi books, I love it even if I have no monetization from YT.
Thank you for this video, it is always interesting to watch and gives me new ideas.

    Summary
    * Motivation comes after the action
    * Change your mindset:
    I have to study / workout / ...❌
    I want to study / workout / ...✅
    * Enjoy the process, this will make it easier for you to do the thing and not to procrastinate...
    * Develop a routine for every single task or habit:
Reading routine, Study routine, Workout routine, Morning routine...
"We always want to procrastinate, I don't fell like studying, learning, workouting..., But at the end, we are the ones who are gonna regret these decisions and we are the ones who will suffer..."
    Thanks Ruri ❤❤

Yani sen istersen senin için güzel olabilir diye düşünüyorum. Bana kalsa hep türkçe konuş derim ama belki almanca ve japonca da konuşursan kanalın daha da büyüyebilir.
