now you're watching "2025 New BMW R 12 GS Revealed!!"
In an interview, the new BMW Motorrad boss Markus Flasch announced a new GS with an air-cooled boxer.
What is clearly visible on the spy shots is the new tubular steel frame, similar to that of the R 12 nineT presented in 2023.
In particular, the new location of the airbox marks the new chassis. And where the R nineT Urban G/S was a hip-styled accessory with no claim to off-road expertise, the presumed R 12 GS or G/S stands tall, with large wheels and narrow tires in the gravel.

So being 5’4” and wanting to Gelande my R9T, I’ve customized my ride to be close to a GS (without the high ground clearance of course). Wish I could include a photo…
Crash bars, skid plate, Handguards, center stand, Givi cafe fairing and luggage racks, GS tank graphics. Looks awesome
Post a video of it to you your channel. I'd like to check it out! I'm a big fan of R9Ts. I ride a GS for the added features off road but anytime I see an R9T in the dirt I think "they must be living the dream".
19 years old. See BMW HP2 Enduro.
They should bring it back.
it’s ugly
I would LOVE to see that boxer with an 800cc engine. Think R800GS. I think the engines for Enduro use have gotten too large.
Totally and completely agree!! Love the boxer design. Shaft drive, under 450 pounds, about 75 horse is all we need. Give me that bike with quality suspension and buy it first day I can.
Looks better than the 1300 gs, might be my next GS when they sort the gremlins out in a few years.
I just want the good old F650GS DAKAR renewed
One of the worst motorcycles ever. I have been a motorcycle mechanic for over 20 years, including a couple years in BMW land. I can't tell you how much we hate those things. Awful to work on. Awful to ride. Awful sounds. Awful to look at. We always joked they shouldn't be parked anywhere but next to the dumpster where they belong.
I think the bike looks great but I'm not so sure about Its Asthetics/Practicality Ratio. I would recommend a few changes. Scale down the big 1200 to maybe 800 or a 900cc and trade power for weight savings. This bike looks like it won't be as easy picking up as my GSA when the inevitable drops off road come. Would love to see some more engine protection. With a 21" front wheel and 9.8" of travel, I'm going to try and take this thing into enduro country and I'd like to know it can take the beating and not drain my energy when I have to pick it up. Also it seems like it could use some wind protection too as the bike looks too heavy to trailer weekly to your off road adventure yet too exposed to log 4+hrs on an open desert highway. It's hard to say at this point that if I'd retire my GSA and give this one a go because it just can't check all the boxes the GSAs can. You can't quantify how good a GS is on paper but they truly are the most reliable "do it all" bike. They seem like huge cumbersome bikes at first but once you take the time and endure the growing pains of learning how to ride the GS off road, you won't look back. Then bikes like this one in the video don't make much sense other than looks.
After watching this video I could go for some North Carolina barbecue
Good grief thats just a new R Nine T Scrambler version. Not a GS. They already announced the new versions of the R Nine T, The scrambler version will complete directly with the 1200 scrambler from Triumph and several others. It was just a matter of time before they did this.
I need this bike
Got to wonder if this is just hype. Hope it is released.
Hp2 Enduro (2006-2008)
Levitation is the big news here according to the thumbnail…
Why oh why do the industry insist on makin these bikes only available to the six foot six inch gang!!
It’s so bloody stupid.
Only a select few will do anythin than go down a stone or hard pack track!!
If your off RTW then, you will need the front end but not in the normal work!!
FFS guys get with it!
90% of people are around the 5 ft 8inch mark an above!
A sophisticated company that can't even figure out how to put a fuckin' fuel gauge on the new R12 cruiser. Ugh.
Also with no fuel gauge 😅
Too big, too heavy, too complicated, and way too expensive. he's have gone to heck... I've got a 2001 F650. Gs.
This makes no sense at all. Early April Fool’s joke??
Hmm....yawn
Kamera absoluter Müll! Kein Biker null Ahnung was Biker sehen wollen!😢
I don’t know why the motorcycle industry don’t use 18”, 19”, or 20” front tires 🛞. 21s are just too big and less stable for road usage.
They use them for off-road capabilities on motorcycles that are designed for off-road use. You need the larger rim and tire to clear obstacles
@@URBANAMERICANTAC Why would you take a lump of lard like this off road? It’ll be ridden 99% of the time on roads, 21”is just for looks. I’d rather have 99% better 17” rims and put up with 1% not as good off road. But they don’t have the ‘Ooh look at me I’m so adventurous’ look 😂
My Africa twin is plenty responsive on highway and 21” is preferable for off-road. Anyone with experience knows this.
@@AT2021Rocker Oh I see. Any idea why all sports bikes manufacturers are using a 17” wheel when your 21” is as good ? Doh.
AT said: offroad and he’s right. You can’t read, you are stupid or you like to be a loudmouth. Take your pick. Cross a sidewayedge with a 17” and after that with a 21”. You wil feel the difference.
what's with the fake American accent?
Where is the GS ???!!!! I do’t see !!! 👎👎👎👎
Boring nothing new 💩💩😝😝
