Unfortunately I caught him after the video and we can not use the ones that jump out anymore so he went to freezer camp. Hahahaha. They like to jump when we open the doors for sure
@@jecriggs Probably a cleanliness thing and don't want to take the risk I'm guessing with a large operation. Though the little guy was probably just enjoying himself going for a walk exploring. I had escapees but in a garage so a merry chase in and under things before.
I just put these Wynola Ranch cups in my brooder after week 1 and came home to 5 gallons of water in my brooder pans, soaked blue paper towels (they were coming out today) and 100 wet chicks. Not happy at all. Waste of money in my opinion. The last cup float of 4 was not shutting off the stem that seals it. Glad I caught it before my chicks got chilled and died.
Nice! I just found the same cups on Ebay. They are called "Lubing cups" from the Lubing Corporation. Waited three weeks to ship from Australia. I wish I knew Wynola Ranch carried them. Don't see them on their website. They have stainless steel plungers and are easy to disassemble and clean. My plan is to have a few spares with quick connect couplers and have a weekly swap out. Got a bucket of bleach water to toss the dirty ones, rinse and repeat. Great idea with the cage for the brooder using these waterers!
I use the peck cups. Convincing myself that they work was tough but one waterer is watering 14 coturnix quail. It works but you must clean and de-burr every cut or bits of plastic pipe cause it to leak.
Great production improvement. We bought the trigger cups from Wynola Ranch and I think we are going to buy some of ones with the float valve now after seeing this video. Great video George!
Were can we get the PVC to tubing connecters? I'm not seeing it on Wynola Ranch's page. I think QC supply has something like it but I am not sure if it is the right thing.
How have you been attaching the poop deflector? I have a Wynola 3 tier with a outside trough system using a floater. I have wondered about putting a piece of metal just above the trough attached to the outside of the cage.
What is the wattage on your brooder bulbs both red and white and how high up is both the bulb socket and the waterer from the flooring? Is it standard height for all 3 weeks? I have a brooder that came from terry's design so this would be perfect if i get light and waterers set in right.
I ordered too. A raccoon found a way into the garage. Found the prints in the snow. They slaughtered all but 3 of my birds. I sure hope I blocked the right entrance good. I was all set to incubate my own eggs but now this happened.
Hi, and thank you for all the helpful info. I just got an incubator and I have 5 thermometers in it testing for proper temp, one says 101.3f, one says 102,2f, one says 80f and one says 100f the incubator says 37.8c . how do I know what the temp is?
37.8 C equals 100 F. I'd throw out the 80 F reading and average the other 4 (100 + 100 + 101.3 + 102.2 = 403.5 403.5 / 4 = 100.8). You should be able to change your incubator from Celsius to Fahrenheit as well, if that makes it easier.
@@MyshireFarm thanks for the info, I built a 2" foam box for the incubator and now its steady on temp and all the test temp gages are all reading the same ,

Same. I seen it and went straight to the comments
@@MyshireFarm Great, that means the other one has escaped the temperature in freezer camp, I'm rooting for that one :)
Escaped quail roaming around behind you. Photobomb! Instead of freezer camp, he could have been myshire spokes bird.
Right hahahaha
The two quails trying to make their escape made me smile. 😂 😂
Yeah they like to try all the time
LOL @ that rogue quail!!!!
Right hahahaha
Awesome information! I love the quail walking by in the back. Nothing to see here just walking through. 😂
Right hahahaha
I have a problem with those floats not sealing. Water leaks all over
We have a cage around them so they can’t get messed up

Lol… that toss of the water nipples! I use the float waterers in my grow-out pens, I may have to consider them for the brooders. Nice setup George!
Thanks.
Did you see the loose quail behind you in the video? @7:02 - hilarious!
I got it thanks hahahaha
I've been looking for a cup with a float like that! Guess I'm going back over to wynola ranch. Seems like that's where I end up every time. 🤣
There you go hahahha
I like the water cups idea over the peck type I have.
We do too
Looks to be a great idea! BTW, You’ve got loose quail walking past you near the wall…
Thanks and yes I caught that one.
Awesome idea, George!!
Yeah he did great
Georgia I love the idea. You need a cutoff between the cages. Thanks for your help. Glenn
We have a cut off on each brooder. Works great

I love the new setup. I think I'm going to try to switch all of my cages over to those plus add it to my brooder.
Good luck. We are happy with it
7:02 quail walking
We caught him hahahaha
go to 7:01 in the video, there is a quail loose [: look at the ground next to the wall.
Yeah I caught it: hahaha

I just saw another one, hahaha
What was with the little escapee at 7 min? I like those for water...will have to get me some. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching and it was a male that jumped out earlier and we were just trying to do video but he needed his air time I guess hahahaha
7:03 can you spot the quail run by on the floor? 😂
Yeah he has been caught and unfortunately butchered at this time hahahaha
May need to try this. Watering everyday in the brooder. Thank you
Good luck. Thanks for watching
Where did you get those cages? I like the concept of them and would like to get a couple
We made them here on the farm
@@MyshireFarm thank you. They look great
Does wynola make that cage that goes over the water cups, or ....?
I don’t know what you mean goes over? I am sorry but the website for them is www.quailcage.com

Zip ties
Too bad they aren't on Wynola's webpage.
You can call or email them and they can hook you up

We use a 250 watt bulb the first week and then go to a 125 watt for 2 weeks after that.
When they make them out of metal let me know
We make ours out of wood and cover it with aluminum
@@MyshireFarm what kind of bird do you have im looking for some

How long is the current wait time for eggs Iv ordered? Thank you
