Very helpful. Thanks buddy. Good to mention that I found out (the hard way) that when I disconnected the hazard light, my signal lights were not working to test it out. So make sure that’s plugged in. Also, take a pic of warning lights so you can turn the lights in the correct way when they don’t turn on. Meaning, not all my lights came on and it was turning the light screws in the other direction that they came on. Looks so much better and worth all the trouble.
Holy hell! Thank you! I've been searching for info on the lights needed for the dash! Half of my cluster is dead, and I've been wanting to replace with LEDs, but wasn't able to find much in the way of info on what the bulbs were. Didn't want to spend $$ and end up with the wrong LEDs. Thank you, your vid is great!
I too, own a Baja and did the light change. First thing I found out was this video has an error...as you notice he gets the climate control lit up but they didn't fit in the switches. This is not his fault.. The company that sold the bulbs gave him T10, T5, and T4 neo wedge bulbs contradicting his claim they were T3...climate control takes T4 and switches take T3...dash lights are T5 and T10 as said. Climate control unit is easier than said...CC unit has 7 screws in back..remove these 7 screws and the plastic back which holds the cable slides off exposing the holes, freeing the unit to mobile freedom, and leaves the power plugs so you can hook power back up to the mobile-free unit to check bulbs without having to mount it.. makes installing bulbs hassle free.
There are two screws on my baja that hold up the ash tray. Have to remove them in order to remove the cover around the center panel. Wasn't mentioned in the video.
Great vid Jake! I just bought some orange T5 bulbs for my dash and white gauge face stickers. I have it all torn apart and working on the faces now. Hope it looks good!
Hey there, solid video. Ended up doing the same in my 04 outback. Only one issue which could be unrelated but car wont turn over. Everything was put back together properly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
That is strange, I kind of want to say it's unrelated. Your lights all come on in the dash? Don't mean any offense but is the battery still good? Old batter is one drain cycle away from not being able to do its job any more. Maybe one of the fuses got tripped from un plugging the cluster that also supports the ignition cylinders. I would start with those!
How are the hot spots? Hard to tell but everything looks pretty even for the most part. Looks like im heading to amazon to stock up on parts so i can do these to my outback.
Not to bad at all! After driving around with then for awile the only thing that bothers me a bit is the light centered over 90mph to get it perfect I may try to find leds with light chips on the side as well. Much like my T5 lights. Then I would call it perfect!
@@AdventureGT ive seen people sand the sides of the diodes to scuff them up and diffuse the light a bit. I love leds in tails and side markers, interiors are always a bit trickier. Thinking of doing all red in my outback, see if i can do a little sti homage.
I may look into that as well thanks. I also have a video coming up, putting LEDs in the dome light, map lights, puddle lights, and rear cargo light lol, not sure when ill up load it. Would love to see those gauges when your all done with it. Are you in any of the subaru Facebook groups?
@@AdventureGT i think i read about it on legacygt, people were putting small leds in the interior door handles and filing the tips so they would sit flush and mute the output a tad. Great vid! I’ll upgrade my Baja soon, just bought it. Btw, in the vid it looks like you have the light right around your ignition key. Did you upgrade that from an Outback or was it already on your Baja? Mine doesn’t have it
Hey man, just wondering if the LED's have made any difference a few years later. I've heard that replacing headlight globes with LED for example can damage standard headlights, is that a myth, or would it only be for very high intensity lights--like headlights? Thanks for the video!
Glad you enjoyed it! As for the Guage LED. Still operational. And no damage or change that I can tell has happend. I am running extreme LED headlights in our Santa Cruz. So maybe we'll see some prolonged damage there.
I actully havnt gotten around to it yet 😅 But here is a link for the correct bulbs www.amazon.com/dp/B00L8BR76A/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_FMY2N0SCERYVA4J0KKA1?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
@@AdventureGT How do the wire-termination bulbs you linked replace the stock ones? Do you disassemble the little plastic base somehow? I'm willing to order the LEDs and just figure it out if you're confident they'll fit...
There's no translucent paint on these gauge clusters 🙂 the color comes from the bulb. You can see it briefly at marker 00:11:20. So you will get what ever color LED you choose. Hope this helps!
Every thing in the temperature control panel is a T5. The lights for the fog and other switches are smaller and I didn't have those. The bulb size for those is micro 270L. And you have to bend the leads on the bulb

I too own a Baja
So what bulbs are for the cruise control, cargo light ?

Look under the climate block and you see another lamp. Its lights knobs.

Did you ever find out the bulbs for the cargo light, cruise control etc ?
Great job Thanks I was concerned about the polarity and thanks for the bulb sources
No problem! Glad it helped
Excellent video, thanks for sharing this. Do you have a count for the bulbs needed to replace the full array on an '03 Baja dash?
Really like these kind of videos! Thanks!
Great vid saving for future reference
Glad it helped!
Great videos how many bulbs in total and if which to.do the whole dash 2004 turbo manual baja ?
Do you think red would look nice on a 95 Impreza?
Yeah, know a few people who did red. They were cool.
Gonna go all red on my Baja to match the gauges I'm installing
Going to look awesome!

late reply but the BATTERY bulb needs to be regular incandescent
i couldn't get the t3 neo wedges to work on my heater control gauges. i did swap them back and forth and nothing.
How did you get the T3s to finally fit? Thanks btw, this really helped me when I did my dash. Cheers
Hello mate..
My Fuel light keeps blinking in my Jdm wrx sti 2003
looking to put all new bulbs in dash where can I get them as don,t know size or how many thanks

Glad it helped you out. So the higher end Baja came with the ignition light as stock. The Sport models didn't have then I believe
When you say 2 in the middle have to be flipped around what do you mean im having the same problem. With mine. Have dark spots.
Those bulbs were put in backwards. They need Turned 180 and reinserted to fix the polarity.

Do you know the size for the warning lights? Specifically check engine?

t5 for temperature control panel and fog light button as well?

Does the bulbs works for 2000 Subaru Legacy outback?
Yes they do! The baja was built on the 2000/2004 outback platform. So most things are interchangeable.
