- I managed to get my hands on an Excelsior II! It's an Intel ship, so obviously I was going to do Surgical Strikes, but I let you guys decide if I was going to do a Broadside build or forward facing Dual Beam Bank build, and the majority of you vote for the Broadside version, so here we are!

Voth Transphasic Chroniton is the third wide angle torpedo. Also I would have put the Broadside Emitter Array from the Kelvin Timeline Intel Dreadnought Cruiser. Just for giggles.
I'd have to own a Vengeance on this character to put it on there, but yeah, that's not a bad console and certainly fits the broadside theme.
You can craft torpedoes with the Arc modifier, gets the 180° firing arc
I have been unable to craft an "arc" torpedo. Do you know the drop rate?

Something to add to this, if you activate excel 2 console before or after certain firing modes. It will override those firing modes and will not force a cool down.
Can you elaborate on this? Which firing modes does it overwrite?

The Cygnus always bugged me though. With two Lt tac seat and a Lt cmdr universal, it always either has too much or too little tac seating.

kentari mass produced missles are my go to whwn i need wide arc torp. you missed out some, there are way more than 3 wide arc torps
What I have done with the borrow time trait is put it on a battle ship or bigger then targeted everything else so I'm using the haste I get from that borrow time without taking out my nest egg right away
You might consider slotting Exitus Acta Probat in your starship traits, if you have it. With all the Intel abilities and Jam sensors you're running you wouldn't have a problem keeping up it's 15% bonus weapon damage and +40 CrtlX.
not a bad trait to have for an Intel ship, but I don't have the S31 Science Destroyer.
Is 1 blue male SRO (5% crit) and 3 watcher's (2.5% crit each) the best you can get for Fed on the E2?

Can I ask how you got your crit chance up so high? I'm trying to optimize my canon-themed Verity broadside build but my crit chance is much closer to 30% than 50%. And that's with four Locators.
Most of it is the gear I'm using, along with all my boff have Superior Romulan Operative and I have the crit chance endeavor skill buff maxed out.
@@Stu1701 Right, I keep forgetting about SRO. I can't bring myself to replace my entire crew with Romulans, so I tried to build a diverse crew with as many other decent space traits as possible. Thanks for replying! I know you've done a lot of similar builds already, but if you ever got around to posting a canon Verity build sometime, I'd really appreciate it.

I wish single target builds would make more sense in this game. Maybe on Elite but below that...just no point in using it unfortunately.
I think you should always make it clear that these builds are for arranged groups doing Elites, if you took that into most Elites Pugging itll get destroyed without Refractors and the Valdore.
Love the ship though but also your parse doesnt add up, 250k dps but only 2mins parse? it is like you just done a quick burst of combat then snipped it there lol 35k damage is not 250k dps.
Ofcourse the dps is gonna be skyhigh if you only parse for a minute or two and not the whole patrol from start to end. IE i can do same damage or more but get alot lower dps because i didnt stop it after doing alot of damage and carried it through the whole patrol.
This build was tested in a solo elite Ninth Rule patrol, not a pre-formed team in a TFO. I used to use ISE as the benchmark for dps (as the DPS League does), but getting a group together for ISE tests isn't as easy as it used to be. There are certain conditions you want for testing your DPS. The whole reason ISE is the standard is because it's quick and you're shooting things the entire time. The latter part of Ninth Rule where multiple waves warp in at the same spawn point seemed like an good enough substitute that didn't require a team (got the idea from Auggie).
Yes, this won't do the exact same amount of recorded DPS in every TFO, and that's because every TFO is very different one another. So instead of testing a ship in every single TFO (because that would take forever), I test in as sterile conditions as I can get, in this case, Ninth Rule, and use that as a point of reference. If it does well enough, it'll probably do fine anywhere.
And as for Elite Pugging, I've been doing it all in a FaW build similar to this, which doesn't do as well as Surgical Strike because it's FaW, without much problem. Refractors an d the Valdore console aren't that necessary.
@@Stu1701 Thing with me is when i pug Elites they home onto me because of the high DPS i do compared to the pugged team (not all the time ofcourse) so those consoles are a must lol
Sounds like you need to work on reducing your threat generation. Or further your dps output to kill enemies before they kill you.
@@Stu1701 Yea ive been testing non stop since the crafting update, results are interesting time to rebuild all my loadouts, oh boy lol
