Free Ship mission weapon > Borg Advance : Fluid Dynamics > [Antiproton Beam Array Mk XI [Acc] [CrtH] [Dmg]] I was all over the place with my build coming up, found this in a Reddit post. Load up a Beam boat! I'm sure there are better but this is so easy, mission is very short and It will get you started. Mission is 46+ and repeatable.
If you remind about Doom's torp for leveling of new players you forget to notice about Ancient Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array from Sphere of Influence missions (and maybe about Warp Core). This items haven't Mk gradation and scale with character level.
IIRC, the Ancient omni is the only omni that lets you equip a second omni along with it. That may have changed, haven't flown my AP build in a long time, but used to have the Ancient and a crafted AP omni equipped at the same time.
Thank you so much for this sort of thing. I just happened to learn about the throwing knife by accident yesterday, when I was talking about how much I enjoyed the Quark's 7 mission. I hadn't gotten it, because I did not realize that it was useful.
They've seen some more use lately, for me, against some (minimising spoilers) tougher borg. Zeph's shotgun is excellent too but needs quite close range to do its best damage, the knives can kill from further away.
You should cover the beam array and ground set I always put on my Jem'hadar. It comes from the episodes where DS9 is under attack from a fleet the wormhole diverted in time. It's a pretty cool set to put on a Boff for ground missions.
That BOFF is also the only use you're going to get for the Ketracel White you can end up accruing in various missions, just makes other species sick. Unless, of course, you're playing a dominion character.
I always use the aiming in ground combat. I use the quantum phaser set, mainly because when you hit the destabilizing beam it reminds me of the Thanix Cannon on the Normandy SR2 in Mass Effect.
From what I understand, Temporal Ambassador is now a way to get 2 free ships (At leas if you have Cross-Faction unlocked) with the second run letting you get and use the other ship. Unfortunately, neither Ambassador nor Kamarag class ships are, currently ones that are very useful as more than admiralty cards and occasionally breaking out low tier just to fly around...nothing really scaled for it. Also, there is the Jem'Hadar ground set from Lost Dominion...it's a pretty good option for a budget build, and even later it's rather good for a Boff (Such as the Jem'Hadar one you get in the same set of missions. As a side note, with the Knife, on thing it can be very good with for assault wielders who are using the Sompek one from the Phoenix box (Decent weapon to get with phoenix tokens anyway because it's a reclaim unlock for all of your characters along with the Shield and Gloves so you can use the set...the rifle isn't an unlock, which needs to be changed there).
The Jemmie ground set is what I give all the Vanguard BOFFs, not as much for stats as it just feels correct. I wish they'd make the Jemmie pistol an option for that set alongside the rifle.
Thanks Stu. As a new player this experienced insight is most a welcome. Even that free T3 Constitution will be welcome since I've only just recently unlocked the Reputation system which requires ships to complete various missions(unless I've confused that with some other newly unlocked side-quest option) so any additional ship is very welcome at this stage. Not sure if this is good advice(since noob) but the very last Borg episode mission was very useful for me as a new player. It's a "Space only" mission which is nice for those that don't particularly love grindy ground missions, it's incredibly quick to complete(I think 5-8 minutes once understood) and the rinse and repeat reward options are Antiproton ship weapons which are pretty useful and for some reason ridiculously expensive from traders so even if you get fed up with them can always sell them for what appears to be 250-300K energy credits each(so can then buy something of a different flavour). Also, the Borg ships that a player will do combat with are not very difficult to destroy, a player will have an entire fleet of friendlies assisting them, and those Borg ships have some excellent mixed drop items. It's a great mission to very quickly flesh out a ship with high-end Antiproton weapons along with lots of excellent drop items from destroyed Borg ships. What a player doesn't want can be sold and that credits can be used to buy the Antiproton consoles from traders which are significantly cheaper than the Antiproton weapons.
I would also think of mentioning the Alliances mission from the Delta Quadrant arc. If you're not in a fleet (or don't have a lot of Fleet Creds and Dil), this rewards a pretty decent Sci Space Boff with Pirate and Efficient abilities. Obviously they are worse than Lukari/Kentari/Rom Ops, but on a budget they outshine most random drops.
I Absolutely LOVE the Ambassador ship as it may only be a Tear 3 ship 4 ten levels BUT it will also be +1 Admiralty ship and you NEVER have enough Admiralty ships, as i never use the throw away tokens, I just thro 1 ship at a 15 min mission and the Ambassador does get the job done fairly often even if alone
Forget what it's called but it's a spear rifle. Not epic by any means but great to use. Too far? It has a blaster. All grouped up? Secondary function decimates shields and knocks them all to the ground. Too close? It has a great melee 3 button and the aoe is great. Plus it looks cool and reminds me of stargate
Stu you forgot one of the hidden missions, Boadly they Rode, Where you get the Dominion Polaron weapon, In beam or dual cannons. Its not much and its a free Polaron weapon that offers up a dual debuff.
The problem with some of those phasers is the colors are off. Space barbie is important enough that it needs to match up with either the blue TOS phasers or the orange phasers. Any other phaser color could drop off a freighter of lusty Orion princesses with every shot, and I would still refuse to use them.
KDF get a free T3 ship from Temporal Ambassador as well called the Kamarag, which is a D7 variant. This is a great vid for newer players to reference when leveling. Well done!
Since "Scylla and Charybdis" is a bit obnoxious to play through a good alternative to Bajor Defense might be the Quantum Phase Applications set from the episode "Stormbound" which is easy enough to pick up all three pieces in about an hour, even with a low level character. The bonuses are rather generic overall and the 3-piece ability is pretty bad but the set should not be overlooked, especially if running a science ship. It is, sadly, lacking a Warp Core but, for budget players, Bajor Defense might as well be lacking one itself so that isn't a huge issue.
The Trellium-D Console from Ragnarok is also useful if you want to put some basic damage resistance armor on you ship or just play the Procyon 5 TFO without the constant environmental damage to your ship. There is also the Temporally Shielded Data Core console from the mission before that which may help a science character as it buffs control expertise and gives you some resistance to Kinetic damage.
I too was surprised that the Trellium-D console wasn't in the list either; my understanding was that it's one of the best defensive consoles in the game.
sil'-uh and kuh-rib'-dis. Two sea monsters from Greek mythology that existed on opposite sides of a narrow waterway, between which characters such as Odysseus needed to sail. Avoiding one would result in encountering the other, spawning various "lesser of two evils" idioms such as "between a rock and a hard place."
A lot of true noob perfect gear was skipped over.. speaking as a true ultra new noob, the gear from jabberwocky is amazing for ground, the solenee eva suit from across the stars is amazing as is the 3 peice to a set you can get from that mission, the ancient obelisk peices from sphere of influence is also worth getting both of for a brand new player. These dont require getting past the delta quadrant and can massively help in getting through the vaadwar fights which are the first real challenge i encountered in the game.
In the sidequest section, look for "Spectres - Spin the Wheel". It has the Synchronic Proton Distortion Assault Rifle, which is a must-have for a Ghostbusters theme build., as it looks like a proton thrower. Also in sidequests, "Lost Dominion - Facility 4028" will give you a purple Jem'Hadar tactical BOFF that can be great for kinetic builds, as it comes knowing torp spread 3 and mine beta 3.
you forgot the trellium hull armor console from temporal war & the patrinic shield from the guardian of forever, the solenae ship consoles are also good along with the ship set from the final iconian war mission
Great big video thanks for the coverage of all the great things in the missions I know what you mean about a sunrise that's one of my favorite missions in the game
For budget Disruptor builds, I'm going to suggest the Resonant Presever set from Blood of the Ancients. It has both cannon and beam array option and the torp has a decent AoE proc. The 3-piece is good for those budget Tanks out there, granting Weapon Cycle Haste from incoming attacks. Combining this set with Entoiled Tech and the House Martok 2-piece is the foundation for a very successful budget Disruptor build. It's also the one instance where I would slot a rear facing torp. Works great with the Bajoran space set, though for Tanking I'd lean more towards the Bajoran 2-piece (impulse/core) and Kobali 2-piece (shield/deflector). Once you get into Fleet and Rep gear, I'd switch over to Stamets-Tilly 3-piece and Colony Proto-matter Deflector. I'm also going to add that, after Skirmish, do the Alhena system patrol/mission to unlock the Deuterium Surplus batteries. You will be right there and Deuterium Surplus will grant a nice burdt speed to make up for the lack of Competitive engines. Tanks gotta stay with the group or they're going to be less effective at their job.
I have the Solane set from episodes but the set warp core I can't get. Is it part of a C-store ship you have to get? Such as one of the Solane sphere ships I am assuming?
Hey I wanted to bounce something off of you I've already commented I love this video that still stands for you is this the leks throwing knives you said that the boards can't adapt to those my question is recently I ran redshift to one of my alts and it gives you an option to use a knife and just out of curiosity I used it on the board and it seemed to work pretty good it killed the borg and it seemed to kill them pretty fast even faster than the phaser now I didn't have time to mouse over and see what the stats for have you noticed this at all? Or is that just lucky
Great video! I've bene playing on and off since launch and I either didn't know about some of these or I forgot. This is really helpful as I just started a new KDF character.
I'd also put forward the kobali regenerative circuitry set.. I think it's a late delta or early iconian episode.. good deflector/shield/engine set with nice survivability bonuses
Love the Kobali set, but then I also have the Samsar so I can use the entire set. Being that the Samsar is so hard to get these days and Stamets-Tilly isn't, the Kobali set is second fiddle. Since new players can only get the 3-piece, I would also suggest that the Sol Defense is a good free tanky option. Kobali set comes from "Dust to Dust" in the Delta arc. Warp/Singularity Core comes from the Samsar Cruiser which is an Epic Phoenix token. Also, the ship isn't that great so wouldn't be my first choice. Sol Defense comes from "Midnight" in the Iconian arc. Lacks a Core, so you only have to worry about grinding out the Midnight mission a few times. Which is strange, as Warp Cores were already an established thing by the time the Iconian arc came out.
@@nolgroth I'm not sure what stamets-tilly is I'm still very new to the game.. The only reason I chose kobali over bajor for myself was that they seemed really similar but the set bonuses for kobali with the tanky stuff felt like it would be more consistently useful but like I said I don't know much about the meta or anything.
It's a nice tanky set, but getting each piece involves dodging electrical arcs and then a timed dash across platforms shooting wall switches in the right order :P . I don't mind the maze or the front row seat to Harry, Jet'lhya, and Harry/Ketan's relationship discussion.
I always forget about it because I never use it. It's okay when you're still leveling, but once you get access to reputation gear you want move on from it pretty quick. The Disruptor's proc is just a 2.5% chance for a small physical damage AoE with a small damage res debuff. The console buffs disruptor damage, so it's okay for a budget gear, but you'll want to ditch that for fleet gear asap. And the Transphasic torps is... well, it's a Transphasic torp, they've always sucked in STO, and this one just as the same proc as the Disruptor. The 2-piece is okay, but underwhelming. The 3-piece is decent, but it's not enough to make me want to use the three individual beyond the leveling stage of the game.
The Dab emote is only available on April Fool's Day and can be claimed from a hologram of Kurland that will be standing outside Quark's for the day. It was bugged this year so he didn't spawn, so you'll have to wait til next April for that. And no, I am not MC Stu. Totally different guy who also happens to be named Stu.
Yep, that's why it's in the video. Honestly, the only reason I don't think more people use it is because it's really outshined by the Lorca's set from the Disco rep. I'm thinking about making a budget build and might use that, though.
@@Stu1701 oddly enough it's a meta set for drain builds. Both Tankia and I use it on our uber drainers. It's an odd torpedo because it heals your shields under HY and strips enemy shields under spread. Its three piece clicky is stupid strong on a fully buffed drain build too
@@Stu1701 I've done this for most of my captains. Use the Rep DHC's + consoles, and anything else that will boost haste or Phaser. I primarily use these for Endeavor's.
Rom Navy set has great health Regen on top of the crit+ and plasma boosting. I use it on one of my senior captains: kit+armor from Rom Navy and shld+weapon from Nakul. Also, I always use aiming and crouching. You get dmg buff from aiming and crit buff from crouching. I also do this on my science ground even though I am not firing a weapon. The crouch +crit from Rom Navy applies to everything.
Great suggestions here I'd also like to add the sol desperate defences set from the last episode of the iconian war. With 2 pieces it gives +35 kinetic And +25 energy resistance and the 3 piece adds on the discharge nanites ability that heals you and allies ships around from 3km away. I used this set for really long time on my sovereign and defiant classes and varients. it's Just a great all-round set for survivability that almost any build can benefit From especially in TFOs and the story missions.
Theres a ground armor either from cardassian arc or rom arc that gives an armor that has 40% crit severity boost. Borg arc the final mission into fluidic space if you wanna role with antiproton keep rerunning that episode as much as you want, then the beginning of the dyson arc will provide the rest for AP wpns.
You do an amazing run down of what to do, but you take it for granted that we can absorb all of what you are telling us in a short period of time and that is a lot!! any chance you can dumb it down for us?
That free t3 ambassador ship was super helpful for me at level 65. I have a t6 Galaxy variant that didn't have saucer separation, but low and behold here comes the Enterprise C with just the console I needed!
So I am guessing they removed the continuation of "Yesterday's Enterprise" where Tholians abucted the Enterprise C when it ended up overshooting it's return by a century? Lame. Coming back after 5 years and was warned that they trimmed a LOT of content.
Not, that's still in there. I know they moved it at one point so it in a difference place in the story, but it's still game. I don't know who you've been talking to, but they definitely haven't "trimmed" a lot of content. If you're coming back after five years, there are a lot of new episodes, TFOs, patrols, and other content to play.
there are like three different point defense system consoles that I can think of off the top of my had at this moment, and none of them episode rewards, so you're going to need to be more specific.
Not exactly an episode reward, but it is a mission reward: Once you complete the "Skirmish" mission in the "Spectres" arc, you can do the daily mission in the Alhena system to get deuterium surplus. Additionally, the first time you complete the Alhena mission, it also unlocks the ability to craft the deuterium surplus.
I like Core of the Matter's Neutronium enhanced ground armor... really tough armor item, not a set just an armor, but pretty good. Also it's one of the most amazing ground maps in the game.
One thing you forgot to mention about the Pahvo crystal device... it lets you heal team mates from across the map. Yeah... it's a TEAM heal that ignores range and LoS.
@@Stu1701 Heh, thought of this in almost every ground Pahvo run I've done. If I see a team member is getting low on health, I use the crystal to heal them. Even if I don't even know where they are. :D

I was all over the place with my build coming up, found this in a Reddit post.
I just played that mission last night. It was so much fun!!!
They've seen some more use lately, for me, against some (minimising spoilers) tougher borg. Zeph's shotgun is excellent too but needs quite close range to do its best damage, the knives can kill from further away.
What about the Shard Sword of Kahless from the Fek'lhr arc, a bat'leth that levels with the player?
I like the Quantum Phase set too mate (but I like using the Lorca stuff from the Discovery Rep more but they're not Episode rewards....) 😉
Also, the EMH Mk 1 duty officer. Great to have in yor roster, also great to have on Ground Duty.
The Sol Defense set from 'Midnight' is good too.
I would also think of mentioning the Alliances mission from the Delta Quadrant arc. If you're not in a fleet (or don't have a lot of Fleet Creds and Dil), this rewards a pretty decent Sci Space Boff with Pirate and Efficient abilities. Obviously they are worse than Lukari/Kentari/Rom Ops, but on a budget they outshine most random drops.
and they're a space potato.
I Absolutely LOVE the Ambassador ship as it may only be a Tear 3 ship 4 ten levels BUT it will also be +1 Admiralty ship and you NEVER have enough Admiralty ships, as i never use the throw away tokens,
I just thro 1 ship at a 15 min mission and the Ambassador does get the job done fairly often even if alone
I believe that you can now run it a second time and get the other factions ship...at least if you've got cross-faction flying unlocked.
@@AzraelThanatos I don't know what you're talkin about, its always a Faction appropriate box
Forget what it's called but it's a spear rifle. Not epic by any means but great to use. Too far? It has a blaster. All grouped up? Secondary function decimates shields and knocks them all to the ground. Too close? It has a great melee 3 button and the aoe is great. Plus it looks cool and reminds me of stargate
you missed the TOS type II phaser, which is completely meta for the ground space barbie builds.
The Borg can adapt to physical damage now. I wish Leck's knives plugged into a device slot like the Terran knife.
You skipped a really good shield in one of the Terran arcs. It gives your ship some insane survivability your missing at fresh 65.
it's in the last mission in the iconian arc, the sol def set. best f2p survival ship set in game.
The one from Para Pacem, where you run into Terran Tilly for the first time?
Stu you forgot one of the hidden missions, Boadly they Rode, Where you get the Dominion Polaron weapon, In beam or dual cannons. Its not much and its a free Polaron weapon that offers up a dual debuff.
thanks for the side quest things at the end i been looking for my pirates for some time now haha
dude this is great, thank you.
The problem with some of those phasers is the colors are off. Space barbie is important enough that it needs to match up with either the blue TOS phasers or the orange phasers. Any other phaser color could drop off a freighter of lusty Orion princesses with every shot, and I would still refuse to use them.
Seven of Nine's dual tetryon rifles from Measure of Morality part 1 are a good ground weapon.
KDF get a free T3 ship from Temporal Ambassador as well called the Kamarag, which is a D7 variant. This is a great vid for newer players to reference when leveling. Well done!
Right! I forgot to mention the KDF version. Yeah, Klingons get the Kamarag.
And the Kamarag can kitbash with the Vor'cha class, allowing for some interesting combinations.
These are so awesome. Lvl 26 and dominating, doing better yhen all them my lvl 65's thanks so much
Polaric modulator, trillium- D armor, temporary shielded data core are all decent free mission rewards that can be useful until reps are unlocked
I use that on every build on most of my ships. I think on a few I use the Temporally shielded data core as well.
sil'-uh and kuh-rib'-dis.
Well, until the devs put the Guardian of forever back in, no one can get the Patrinic shield.
What about the solanae hybrid and sol defence sets for free stuff each don't seem too bad
Great big video thanks for the coverage of all the great things in the missions I know what you mean about a sunrise that's one of my favorite missions in the game
This is why I follow all of you so I know to look out for something each mission I run cuz I won't miss out
Excellent video for all range players !
Thanks Stu!
we may focus first on getting this stuff in particular over the high end, right?
Hey Stu Brad here I was trying to play the second new TFO mirror universe episode the mission keeps glitching on ps4
Great video! I've bene playing on and off since launch and I either didn't know about some of these or I forgot. This is really helpful as I just started a new KDF character.
I have a dumb question. If I have a weapon in the second ground slot, do I get the set bonuses from that weapon when I’m using the other weapon?
Yes, a lot of players run the Na'kuhl shield with Na'kuhl minigun in secondary for just this reason
@@gusporterhouse
Yep. I use this combo with Rom Navy kit+armor.
What about the 4 piece space set from the episode Melting Pot?
I'd also put forward the kobali regenerative circuitry set.. I think it's a late delta or early iconian episode.. good deflector/shield/engine set with nice survivability bonuses
The Kobali set isn't bad, its very tanky, but I think the Bajor set is the best option from the episode gear so it's the only one I brought up.
@@Stu1701 oh yeah totally fair, I was just saying
I don't mind the maze or the front row seat to Harry, Jet'lhya, and Harry/Ketan's relationship discussion.
blue shift, quarks lucky 7, temporal front and beyond the nexus will be aquired.
In multiple videos you seem to forget one disruption set from the iconion war. Wondering why
@@Stu1701 that makes sense I always think about it cause of the 3pc set
Is that Pokémon trading card game music?
Where do i get the Dab emote from?
Edit: Youre not MC Stu are you? The other STO TH-cam channel guy.
Also worth getting is the Quantum Phase weapons set. It is also a good starter set.
Its three piece clicky is stupid strong on a fully buffed drain build too
@@PirateScumGaming I use it on my Drain build as well, though I find the Hoku'un (Dorito) trait better for healing shields.
I love that set. I upgraded it all the way to max.
@@Stu1701
I've done this for most of my captains. Use the Rep DHC's + consoles, and anything else that will boost haste or Phaser.
I primarily use these for Endeavor's.
Great Vids!
.
Physical Augmentation Utility Armor from Jabberwocky (Cardi arc).
You do an amazing run down of what to do, but you take it for granted that we can absorb all of what you are telling us in a short period of time and that is a lot!! any chance you can dumb it down for us?
I was looking for those Na’Kuhl shields
Lay off the damned CAFFEINE!
Ease up on the damned RED-BULL!
It makes me sad that the Zero Point Defense System isn't in this conversation.
there are like three different point defense system consoles that I can think of off the top of my had at this moment, and none of them episode rewards, so you're going to need to be more specific.
@@Stu1701 Now that I think about it, you're right. Mine came with the Armitage.
Update?
Not exactly an episode reward, but it is a mission reward: Once you complete the "Skirmish" mission in the "Spectres" arc, you can do the daily mission in the Alhena system to get deuterium surplus. Additionally, the first time you complete the Alhena mission, it also unlocks the ability to craft the deuterium surplus.
Yeah, I thought about including that one, but instead decided leave that one for a video dedicated to useful devices.
my ship runs on those things
I like Core of the Matter's Neutronium enhanced ground armor... really tough armor item, not a set just an armor, but pretty good. Also it's one of the most amazing ground maps in the game.
One thing you forgot to mention about the Pahvo crystal device... it lets you heal team mates from across the map. Yeah... it's a TEAM heal that ignores range and LoS.
Ah! How did I forget to mention it's a team heal!?
@@Stu1701 Heh, thought of this in almost every ground Pahvo run I've done. If I see a team member is getting low on health, I use the crystal to heal them. Even if I don't even know where they are. :D
Nice idea for a vid. 👍
I'm using the opreative set atm on 1 char I really like it just wish I had the Krenim doff that helps with ambush would be better. BTW don't forget the Catalysts ;)
Wow, no plasma anything...
Silla and Kha rib dis from the story of Ulysses who had to choose between a mulit-headed sea monster and a whirlpool that would claim the entire ship.
I use still use the aiming mechanics!
I aim. Now you know someone. We go way back and stuff.
really? honestly, I can't be bothered with that mechanic. though I don't have any weapons based builds, most of my stuff is more focused on my kit modules, so maybe that's why I don't bother with it.
@@Stu1701 I tinkered with Aim when it got added... and found most of my builds can't use it effectively.
@@Stu1701 For sure. Not every one has Mudd's Time Device yet and 2 of my Romulans are definitely plasma weapon focused because I wanted to know and I'm content with what I know.
On my zappy lightning kit based character... I don't have an aim button mapped on the controller for them at all. That becomes Mudds.
I am when I use Sniper rifles, which outside of the MACO Rifle (Omega rep not Lobi), is rare. Come to think of it, I kind of want to build a sniper spec. Too bad that crafted special rifle can't be used until level 40.
I couldn't help noticing that you said you'd be talking about must-have rewards, but talked down about a lot of (most of?) the items. That was disappointing.I was expecting to learn why I'd want some hidden gem items not why they're "meh."
yeah, i kinda got into a thing there
It's pronounced 'Sill-ah' and 'cuh-rib-dis'.
Super :)
You're trying to pronounce "Silla and Carrib-diss"
Did you really skip the butterfly mission from the iconian arc!? Shame shame shame.
Not being pedantic, but because you commented on it: Charybdis is pronounced kah-rib-dis.
thanks! I had no idea how pronounce that and I was too lazy to look it up lol
Lol yes maybe in a year or "more" this video might be out of date but I won't count on that.
they dont do episode gear rewards no more they lazy an takin money like genshin impact
What are you talking about? Nearly every episode rewards a unique piece of gear.
Why do all the star trek content creators always gotta have some cringe outfit lmao
You say that the Torment Engine is good for science builds but it specifically says non-hazard dots, am I misinterpreting something?
because it also buffs several exotic forms of damage, like physical, radiation, fire, etc. Also, not all sci dots are hazard abilities. Plus most sci build use Temporal as their primary specialization, and the torment engine buffs entropic rider nicely.
