I loved your analogy to reverse yoga but I'd like to add that: even more so, Metal Vocals rely on amazing breath control. It's all in good lyricism and phrasing that we get gems like this! Even harsh vocals need a good core to annunciate properly without damaging your vocal chords (Oli Sykes for example of what happens when you go too far). I think Slipknot really captures time with their progression. From their first album to the most recent, they have grabbed everyone’s attention. I have been listening to Slipknot for 10+ years, but if I’m new to metal in 2022, Slipknot would still be the first band I would gravitate toward. We can learn from their creative progression.

Thank you for saying that you hear their old school stuff listening to this. I said that same thing on the official video and some dude told me that if I thought it sounded like old school Slipknot then I am deaf... I was like "Listen dude, I have been listening to Slipknot probably longer than you have been alive" LOL BTW I love your videos. You have a great reaction to the music and I could listen to you talk for hours. I am so glad I found your channel ♥♥♥
Listen to slipknot since I was a kid but this style of music got me through Afghanistan deployments as a grunt and I have to say I owe the band for the motivation.
Great reaction to a great song. Just think, the original studio version came out in 1976! And yes, I did have the album. Really glad I found your channel, and dang, you look like one of my favorite singers, Avienne from Vintersea. 😍
When she first heard them (and signed them to OzzFest), Sharon Osbourne described Slipknot as “A wall of sound.” I get that vibe again from this track. Not that I dislike what they’ve done post-Iowa, I…I just missed this.
I love that you mentioned the mental health aspect. As someone who is bi-polar with awful anxiety as well, Slipknot totally calms my brain. When I am really stressed out nothing makes me feel better than slipknot

I know you may not see this but if you want a great Slipknot song with excellent drum sequences then you should give The Blister Exists a listen because it has a drum feature in the middle of the song with Joey killing it
I can't wait to put this on repeat until their next album just like every other time. Nothing resonates with me like Slipknot. Slipknot helping my workouts be more productive since I was a teenager.
Fun Fact: Jay Weinberg used to be the drummer for Bruce Springsteen. He first filled in when dad, Max, was either injured or needed to get surgery while on the 'Born to Run' tour in the late 2000s. He later took the full time position on tour because his dad had other commitments. Bruce Springsteen and Steve Van Zandt praised Jay for adding some new excitement to the live performances since he was much younger than the rest of the band. His youthful energy was felt by the other band members and the audience.
