In my days as a protestant, I often would confess my sins to other Christians due to the same teaching she verbalized about confession. I ran into many troubles from doing that because those other Christians to whom I was confessing all had different levels of discernment and none had any duty to confidentiality, and they would misunderstand, or would judge me harshly and then run and tell others. They wouldn't stop and pray for me and with me. The Catholic method of confession is far superior to the protestant ideal of just telling anyone in the church.

I couldn’t agree more. I asked a Protestant in person this question as to why we don’t confess our sins to one another. The really sad thing I’ve noticed from many of them is that they themselves are unwilling to share in the sins or struggles they have. I put myself out there and share to show I’m human and in need of prayers and I’ve even had family completely ignore me. No comfort, encouragement or anything. Another reason why I’m convinced that confession in Catholicism is the only thing that makes sense. It’s sad but yes, if you wear your heart on your sleeve, many will go and share your sins with others and that really hurts. Did you ever experience their lack of transparency in sin or struggles?

I love how she casually thinks she's more knowledgeable than 2,000 years of Catholic theologians who have spent their lives studying these things while she is peeking off-screen making sure that she get's the bible verses right. Like she thinks she's the first person who ever thought of these refutations of Catholic dogma. People dedicate their lives to becoming apologists to defend the faith and we're still disunited as Christians. Mind explaining why in Catholicism you could literally buy your way into heaven for 500+ years through indulgences, even into the 1900s? Or why the Orthodox Church doesn't believe in Purgatory, which doesn't exist in scripture either? Some of Catholicism's scams are too epic to be ignored.

My favorite verse relating to purgatory is:
      Hebrews 12:23
‘and the assembly of the firstborn enrolled in heaven, and God the judge of all, and the spirits of the just made perfect,’
It reminds me that we are made the perfect version of ourselves by God before entering heaven. It is actually a gift in many ways.
      2 Peter 1:4
‘Through these, he has bestowed on us the precious and very great promises, so that through them you may come to share in the divine nature, after escaping from the corruption that is in the world because of evil desire.’
In heaven we will come to share in the divine nature which is freedom from sin itself.
If you ever feel unsure just remember:
      Wisdom 3:1
‘The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them.’

In order to preform worship, a priest must offer sacrifice to God. The sacrifice must contain a victim, that victim must be offered to God, the victim must be slain, and the priest consumes the victim completing the sacrifice.
This is exactly what the Catholic Mass is. The bread and wine are blessed, consecrated becoming the Body and Blood of Jesus, Jesus is then offered to God the Father, the Host is fractured symbolizing Jesus’s death on the cross, the priest will consume both the Body and the Blood completing the sacrifice.
So, what Catholic offers sacrifice to Mary?

Once the Bible was translated into a language people could understand that was the beginning and end of the CC stronghold.

"Purified Seven Times, The Miracle of the English Bible"- Bill Bradley

1537- Myles Coverdale's Bible translation was published "with the King's most gracious license.". Later, during "Bloody Mary's" reign, he was hunted for his life and forced to flee England.
1539- Coverdale's "The Great Bible" chained to the pulpits by order of King Henry VIII. Christians were executed for reading the Bible without a license.
1555- John Rogers was burned to death for publishing Matthew's Bible; became the first victim of "Bloody Mary" Queen of England.
1560- Queen Mary commands all "heretics" to return to Romanism or face the consequences. Many flee to Geneva, and the exiled church leaders produce the Geneva Bible.
1611- The seventh major English translation of the Scriptures, the King James Bible, is published and adopted as the authorized version by the people of God as the word of God for the English-speaking world. "Purified Seven Times".

Protestants do NOT jknow the bible very well at all. They know the PARTS oif the bible that suit their angenda. Here's ONE example of many: ➨CONFESSION: Why confess to a Priest? Jesus gives power to the Priests to forgive sins:
    ● JOHN 20:23 He breathed on them & said, "recieve the Holy Spirit. Whose sins you forgive are forgiven, Whose sins you retain are retained"
    ● JAMES 5:16 Therefore CONFESS YOUR SINS TO ONE ANOTHER and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.
    ● MATTHEW 3:6
6 And were baptized of him in Jordan, CONFESSING THEIR SINS. .
    ● JAMES 5:14-15
14 Is any sick among you? let him CALL FOR THE ELDERS OF THE CHURCH; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and IF HE HAS COMMITTED SINS, THEY SHALL BE FORGIVEN.
TONS of other things that they attack are also in the bible

It would not be a theological exaggeration to assert that the Church would be the Church in her fullness even if She did not possess the New Testament.
For many raised on the Reformational principle of 'sola scriptura' this may seem a radical-even heretical-statement. ...There was a time when the Church did not possess this corpus of inspired writing and yet the Church existed in Her fullness, Christians experienced the truth of the faith in its fullness."

Every protestant puts a period where it doesn’t belong in that mediator verse. There is actually a comma, and it continues “who gave His life as a ransom for many.” So, considering the definition of the word “mediator” and the placements of the commas, Christ is not the only mediator, but the only mediator who gave his life as a ransom for many. He is the only mediator that can reconcile all of humanity to God. But all of the prophets were mediators, the Angel Gabriel was a mediator, every member of the Communion of Saints can be a mediator according to the definition of the word. We need to stop redefining words and conceding ground to such Bible butchery.

    • @johnflorio3576
      @johnflorio3576 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +7

That’s right. Only Christ is the mediator of our salvation. This is what the Catholic Church teaches.

"I urge then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone - for kings, for all those in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceful life in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Saviour, who wants all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man, Christ Jesus."
      1Timothy 2:1-5
Jesus is the one Mediator of our salvation, our only Saviour. But He is not our only intercessor, as the whole passage above clearly indicates. So the one passage that fundamentalists have used to deny intercessionary prayer, when read in context, actually backs up intercessionary prayer.

    • @JakePenick
      @JakePenick 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@@bibleman8010 yes, intercessory prayer is a form of mediation by the definition of the word. It doesn’t not grant salvation, as Christ is the only one that reconciles all of humanity to God. But every prophet was a mediator in that they were go-betweens in the middle of two conflicting parties (God and the Israelites). As a messenger, the Angel Gabriel was a go-between when he gave God’s message to Mary, although Mary and God were not in conflict. My point is that non-Catholics tend to falsely punctuate Scripture passages thereby potentially changing its meaning and causing us to have to redefine words that don’t need a new definition. Every intercessor can be considered a mediator (little “m”), but only Christ is the capital “M” Mediator by his sacrifice on the cross which offers reconciliation with the Father to all humanity. It is a sly move they use to try to deny the power of intercession, the activity of the Communion of Saints, and the validity of good works in general.

How does 1 Timothy 2:5 have anything to do with intercessory prayer?
For there is one God and one mediator between God and mankind, the man Christ Jesus,
We all as Christians have the Holy Spirit in us and the Light.
The light comes from the Father in Jesus and we can pray to him and hear from him.
God is Jesus, the Father, the Holy Spirit, and the Light.
Intercessory prayer is when we pray through the light to another person like a Father in law who has passed away and is in heaven. So, they can pray to Jesus for us also.

@@bobizzle1605 Yes, we can ask anyone, but they must be going to heaven if dead, I prayed for intercession from my Father in law on a family situation that he knew about in life. And I prayed directly to Jesus also. At least 20 times a day. One day I was leaving work and a car cut me off. I was on my motorcycle. I was out for 45 minutes. Two angels held me on the bike and kept me from being severely injured. Then they took me to a room and a 19 year old sat down across from me. We talked directly about the issue and he said God will handle it. You have to go back now. Take care of my Birdie. Birdie is my wife's nickname. He was in his new body and had blonde hair which I never saw him have. But he did when he was younger.
I thought that my mother in laws issues would be taken care of and she would live a long life. No, she was taken to heaven and the issue stopped.

Of all religions, why is the Catholic faith so hated, so vilified and so attacked? No other religion experiences this level of negativity. So why? Simple. It is a religion whose root is based in suffering to gain salvation; a religion DIRECTLY linked to Christ Jesus. Yes, the hierarchy of the Catholic Church may indeed have corrupted elements, but the ground roots keep it strong and true. Other religions preach good deeds to gain salvation. The Catholic Faith, built on the very foundation of Christ Savior's life and teachings, teaches that salvation can only be gained through Christ Savior.....the girl in the video is sadly lost and has become like a wolf in sheep's clothing that Christ warned of. 2674 Mary gave her consent in faith at the Annunciation and maintained it without hesitation at the foot of the Cross. Ever since, her motherhood has extended to the brothers and sisters of her Son "who still journey on earth surrounded by dangers and difficulties." Jesus, the only mediator, is the way of our prayer; Mary, his mother and ours, is wholly transparent to him: she "shows the way" (hodigitria), and is herself "the Sign" of the way, according to the traditional iconography of East and West.

Former Catholics often say things like, “I went to Catholic schools for eight years…” or “I was a Catholic for most of my life…” as a preface to the anti-Catholic rant they are about to unleash against one or more doctrines of the Catholic faith. I will label these doctrines X, Y, and Z.
The problem is that almost invariably, the former Catholic simply misunderstands what the Church teaches about X, Y, and Z. They have incomplete or false ideas about those subjects.
This is shown to be true by the testimonies of converts TO Catholicism who often report such as, “When I was a Protestant, I thought all Catholics believed X, Y and Z, and I tried to show them that they were wrong. But the more I researched X, Y and Z, the more I realized that the Catholics were right, and I was wrong about those things! That’s why I’m a Catholic today.”
So, the people who misunderstood X, Y and Z left the Church while those who finally understood the truth about X, Y and Z ended up converting to the Catholic Church. This situation applies equally to those reverts who leave the Catholic Church and eventually come back.
The ignorant leave while the knowledgeable come in.

Among them are many Catholic Bible translations from before and after Vatican II. Most all the pre-Vatican II Bibles have two things in common. A prayer suggested to the Holy Ghost before and after reading the Scriptures asking for wisdom to understand the text, and an Indulgence granted to those who spend at least 15-30 minutes a day reading the Holy writ. Nothing in these insists only priests know how to interpret the Bible, simply (along with Papal Encyclicals) encouraging the prayerful reading of scripture.

Historically, how well did the RCC do at encouaging its members to read the Bible? How lovingly did they receive the people who began translating it into the common languages of the people?

Other than Jerome’s Latin Vulgate in 385, there was also these-
680 - Caedmon of Whitby, known for the earliest “old english” interpretation (in part) of the scriptures. He is listed as a saint in the church.
700 - Aldhelm [Eadhelm] bishop of Sherborne, another saint of the church, published the Psalms in old english
710 - Guthlac, hermit near Peterborough
      735 - Venerable Bede’s work
      820 - Bishop Egbert
864 - Saints Cyril and Methodius (Slavic complete ??)
880 - Saint King Alfred the Great partial work
      1002 - Archbishop Ælfric
      1186 - Miroslav Gospel (Siberian)
1335 - The Royal Tetraevangelia (Bulgarian 4 gospels)

Most people were illiterate so the bible was preached in word and in image in things like stained glass windows. IF people could read they read in Latin so the church put the bible in that language. The gospel has been preached since day one.

You: King James was authority by and Anglican and Luther, in his own accord.
Me: Neither King James nor "Anglican" possessed any authority. The Catholic Church has the authority of Jesus to bind and loose and Peter has the keys to the kingdom.

Blessed be the ordained, for they have embraced the Holy Orders. I recognize their authority to forgive sins as Jesus willed His ministry to continue the forgiveness of sins through apostolic successions in His Church.
I accept the dogma of purgatory. The only thing not defined is the duration of stay in purgatory before going to heaven as there is no basis for it -- only God knows.
As a Catholic, one must accept the Church in its entirety. You must not pick and choose, and rightfully so. If you are struggling in a particular verse or lack understanding then seek out a brother who is more knowledgeable. If you are still not satisfied then seek out a priest. Don't just not agree with it and leave -- those are the actions of a foolish, prideful, and weak person.

Mary and the saints are biblical and so is their intercession. Rev 5:8. The protestant "reformers" are not biblical.

The "reform" was based on men's egos - nothing more. The true heroes were the Catholic counter-reformers who suffered and remained faithful while praying and fighting for the true BEHAVIORAL reformation the Church needed.

Dreadful and totally inaccurate exegesis of Rev 5 vs 8. For starters absolutely no mention of Mary.
'God's people' are referred to in this verse (vs8b) and this means all Christians who are in fact 'saints' by virtue of the fact that they are in union with Christ Jesus. See who Pauls letters are addressed to e.g. Ephes 1 vs1b. There are no special 'saints' among the people of God whose prayers are more efficacious than other Christians. All Christians are saints. Period.

@@howardgilpin8818 and with the plethora of interpretations of the Bible in the world today what makes yours the correct one? Is it the infallible one? If not, who really cares? On the other hand there is this to ponder and answer if you would…
History shows us that Jesus didn't leave us a bible, the apostles didn't tell us which books belong in the bible, the church fathers never agreed on the 27 books of the NT through the 4th century, not only did they not agree but their individual lists of would-be NT canons were GROWING during this time, growing in numbers of hundreds of “inspired” NT writings. So, if it wasn't the Catholic/Orthodox church that compiled the 27 books of the NT in the 5th century with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and preserved it by laboriously hand copying them over and over throughout the centuries before the invention of the printing press, the “rule of faith” for many, please tell us, show us, who did? And if this church no longer exists today, what good is the text which came forth from her if she couldn't sustain herself?
Also you might want to read Heb 12:1… but not before you answer that question above.
