    For what it's worth I waited a year-and-a-half for my black hybrid absolutely absolutely love it

      Does your hybrid make really loud fan noises when you turn it on? I have a black hybrid as well (love the way it drives) but upon startup it makes pretty loud engine fan noises, the fan sounds like it clicks a little bit. Not sure if I should get that checked out. Btw only 65 miles on it so far

      @@Flockingtheherd- hi - my Mav hybrid (22) does this if the engine starts up when you key it up, and you let it sit a bit to warm up when it’s colder out. Not so much in the warmer months unless you’ve got the ac on. They must have done the max fan thing to ensure there is airflow through the engine compartment until the engine warms up? I don’t think there’s anything wrong, but it does seem kind of weird, though.

    I have a 22 Hybrid xlt. I waited 13 months for it. Ordered July of 21 and got it August of 22. It’s such a great vehicle. Plenty of power, fantastic gas mileage, fits my family of 4 and the bed is big enough to carry most things! Put some good light weight all terrain tires on it and it will get you through the winters!

    Have 22 Mav Hybrid. Great value. If you really pay attention to the ‘hybrid coach’, the mileage will exceed the EPA ratings. I’ve achieved 51 mpg on the highway…can’t believe it!

      Love hearing that! Big fan of the visual coach. Very simple and effective!

      @@JustinPritchard do you have a Mav too? I didn’t put the real mileage in the thread, because it sounds like it couldn’t happen. On short city trips, I’ve seen 55, 60 and one time 85 mpg! Even if you subtract 5% this is crazy. Ford has a winner.

    I live in Ontario Canada and I find it funny how they talk about the front wheel drive being a poor choice for our winter driving here and a point of interest we have had front wheel drive cars for nearly 30 years I think that’s not a problem and for getting on the highway I have 0 problems as it’s a lot faster at pickup speeds onto merges onto any highway. Love how the ride is in this truck. Ford has a great little truck and I waited 15 mths for mine and it was worth the wait. Getting 44 miles per gallon or 5.1 liters per 100 km that’s 80% highway at 90 km an hr and rest city driving. Not one complaint for a Proud Ford Maverick Hybrid XLT model.

    • @palebeachbum
      @palebeachbum ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I totally agree, but FWD is not ideal for a pickup truck. There is a reason why they are always RWD. When you put weight in the bed, it causes the front to lift, thereby reducing traction. It increases traction on the rear wheels. For just a commuter vehicle used for very light-duty truck stuff, a FWD truck is completely fine.

    What's wrong with front wheel drive? Nothing, actually. Front engine, front wheel drive benefits from weight of the engine on the drive tires. My first car was a Honda Civic, very light weight front wheel drive car. Chicago winters and I don't belive it ever got stuck. The Hybrid is a lot heavier than that civic. My truck weighted in at 4000 lbs. last week. I honestly get between 40 and 50 mpg. And have had city trips were I've gotten over 100 mpg. Mine is a used 22 XLT with the options package. Was in my driveway less than 3 weeks after I found it.

    Problem #4 - Its $47,000. Makes much less sense at that price.
    Problem #5 - They are completely unavailable.

    • @trevorbraun2574
      @trevorbraun2574 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah price is half the draw for the Maverick. Mine was price-protected at $26K when I finally took delivery but if I would have had to pay current retail (not to mention mark-ups) I never would have taken delivery.

    • @noblekitty

      These problems have nothing to do with the truck designs. The video was about design issues.

    Complaining about rear power window placement is rather petty. Buttons rarely used are often no placed in less accessible spots.
    Split folding seats make sense to partially expand cargo area with a hatch. It makes little sense here where you don’t get a flat expanded cargo space and hatch cargo space. It would be a distinction without a difference.

    My biggest con, I’m a huge engine health freak and anytime I get in a car, I always let it idle for 2-5 minutes to get the oil flowing and somewhat warmed up. I want to preserve the engine as long as possible. With the hybrid, when I start it up, it doesn’t turn on the engine until I start driving. I haven’t tried the mav in the winter yet but I really hope it factors in temp and turns the engine on. That way my engine last more than a few years and I don’t blow a gasket with ice cold oil and extreme oil pressure xD

    • @noblekitty
      @noblekitty ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This has the same hybrid design as Toyota family of hybrids, except the new Tundra hybrid. You can find plenty of old Toyota hybrids with over 300k miles no issue. This proves that the engine warming up is not needed in modern cars running on modern synthetic oil. Engine warm up may actually harm engine emissions system more.

    • @ThisGuyRides
      @ThisGuyRides ปีที่แล้ว +2

      You can remotely start it with Ford app, and set the temperature so the engine runs to heat the car.

    • @Flockingtheherd
      @Flockingtheherd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ThisGuyRides you can’t adjust temp via the app. When in the car you can go into vehicles settings and set the app to either auto regulate temp control or to ‘remember last temp setting’ for app startup. It would be nice to adjust that setting through the app but unfortunately you can’t

    At $19,900 I was all in. After the markup by dealers pushing them over $40,000 I cancelled my order and just bought a more capable pick up. Wjo knows if my order wouldve even been filled. After all its still a Ford that'll most likely break and be riddled with re calls.

    • @mikegilkey
      @mikegilkey ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So sad, my dealer let me buy it at MSRP, so sad for Ford having dealers do markups to screw people over. Hope you can get one, they are great. Go with the xl or XLT.
      My dealer said that if people cancel and order, they just keep the order and the mark it up to sell.

    • @Flockingtheherd
      @Flockingtheherd ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s actually the exact reason they marked the vehicle up and made them so hard to find. Ford dealerships are having real troubles selling real trucks now. By hiking prices they’re hoping most will just resort back to buying a regular truck

    • @Flockingtheherd
      @Flockingtheherd ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mikegilkeydid you order your maverick or just show up at a dealer? Most dealers will sell msrp or close to it if you place the order, since you waited so long.
