    Your tip about fit is so true! I’m a fat woman and have been settling for things to look tight fitting and “skinny” for so long because I refused to size up or look at alternative fits that I thought were just meant for skinny people. Now, I’ve been able to break through that and wear whatever I want and look amazing

    Let us get a monochromatic lookbook with a loungewear/athleisure feel, casual style and dressy/dapper aesthetic please; show ppl how to do the mature matchy matchy!

    There is such a fine line between a matchy-matchy outfit and a monochromatic moment. When done right, wearing everything in the same color/hue is absolutely magnificent and it tends to be some of my favorite looks.

    I'm super poor (literally only 10k / year), and I love thrifting anything in 70-100% natural fabrics, ie - wool & linen mostly, but also cotton, silk, hemp, etc. Good quality stuff doesn't have to cost an arm and a leg.

    I’m definitely going for the mature look now that I’m 30. I just feel that I’m on this different vibe now.

    Wanted to say, on the bit where you were talking about not needing to be covered up in jewelry and everything and your confidence shining through when you dial it back. I personally and I know for many other people this is true that a lot of times we use our clothes and our hair to hide or to maybe make up for confidence that we don't have in ourselves. And it's easy to become too comfortable in that to a point where when you don't do it you can FEEL how much less confident you are when it's just you in maybe some simple pants and t shirt. And to me that signals "oh shit I don't really like ME. Need to work on that one huh?"
    For YEARS I've used clothing, accessories and my hairstyles to compensate for the fact that I am self conscious about my physical appearance. "I don't think I'm attractive so I need to make up for it so other people don't realize I'm ugly" type deal. I think a lot of people deal with that or are just trying to impress others. I'm 25 now and have been realizing that I want to be comfy. I also want to be lowkey and not have people looking at me. I don't need to constantly impress others. My comfortability comes 1st.
    Also back in school I would feel like I had to keep it up or even out do myself every day because I had created this "brand" for myself. And that gives no room for personal growth. Anyways I just was thinking about this and wanted to leave it for anyone who may relate. Do YOU. Look good for YOU. Do things for your inner confidence not to impress others. That mindset change has been so freeing.
    Also love and appreciate your videos Jade. You're the only TH-camr I've found that is a queer female that I can relate to in sense of style etc. Your content always delivers!

    I wear a hat everyday, but they’re mostly wide-brimmed hats because I’m very pale and I live in Australia. Fashion + sun protection ftw.

    so true about wearing less!! i would always dap myself up in a thousand layers and accessories, but im learning for myself that a more simplistic fit is really nice. it felt illegal to me to just wear minimal layers, but i found that i really loved the way it looks on me!

    I literally stopped this video at 6 mins in yesterday and today I bought my first pair of Doc Martens (with my 2nd pair via online purchase coming next week cause those'll be half off) 😂😅 I already been wanting them for awhile, but this was just a push for me to get off out of my tennis shoes

    I really need help when it comes to looking more adult in menswear. I. 5'0" so I pretty much always look like a child when I wear menswear. :(( I hate my height so much

    • @t_morales2212
      @t_morales2212 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Same here I try to find boots, classic sneakers like the puma suede, chucks always work. Jewelry helps too it kinda feels like my "makeup" 🤷‍♂️ haha. I'm 5'0 but I'm into vintage old spanish style with grungy vibes. I also try some different haircuts/styles. They just need a petite men's section 🤣🤣

      You could try wearing women’s clothes that have a more masc fit…so wearing an oversized shirt in women vs a men’s shirt might mature your look. Just a thought.
