This movie was so amazing. I grew up at the same time, but poor, and in small town America. I dreamed of Hollywood, as did so many others. This movie showed so well, how everything that glitters is not gold. A masterpiece, that takes me back.
For me this RDJ’s most sadly emotional film. I don’t know the man but I am glad he has left his addiction behind. Odd confession : late 90’s into early 2000’s (when VCR’s existed 😁) I would watch U.S. Marshals (Tommy Lee, Wesley Snipes & RDJ), rewind the tape when it got to the end and then watch the whole movie again. I couldn’t get enough of this movie for some reason!
I just watched this movie again for what seems like the millionth time. I was 22 years old when this movie came out. Watching this movie brings back a lot of good and not so good and bad memories. The soundtrack is definitely of its time, the cinematography was great, and I am remain in awe of RDJr's performance to this day. There is still that part of me that hoped he got the loan from his uncle so he could do the club but lies, deceit and lack of trust follow us all everywhere we offer it. Andrew McCarthy also gives a helluva performance, being torn between the woman he loves and the friend he loves like the brother he doesn't have. "Make me understand, Julian" - geez, that got to me. The dialogue speaks more to me now than it did back when the movie first came out. Just imagine you and your girlfriend going through hell helping your best friend, you finally get them away from the shit, only for the grim reaper to take you like a thief in the night. One last thing I wonder, was Julian getting high in the gas station bathroom and then when he came out he stumbled and fell?
One of the MOST underrated movies ever, but especially in RDJ's repertoire!
I highly agree
One of the most depressing movies that I have ever seen. The cheek busting scene was dreadful😢

James Spader plays a good evil part so well . An ice cold sociopath.

It was one of the gratest movies of the 80s! Great song ! 💗
Bret Easton Ellis novels and John Hughes movies captured the zeitgeist of the 80s.

Blacklist Rip Millar (No. 187)
cuando toda la puta mierda te sale mal , he pasado por eso
👶💟💕❤❤❤❤
Spader's role as a queer drug dealer was perfect, since Spader IS a homosexual.
was it implied that Rip was homosexual?
Yes. Butt sex with men was his natural preference 😅!
Gota be Placebo, that voice is instantly recognizable
Less Than Zero is so Negative :)
Iron Man was getting his cheeks busted, so of course it was depressing!😮
