2021 Tesla Model 3 RWD Review - 1 month (Name change from Standard Range Plus as of 11/2/2021)

- I’ve had my 2021 Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus (SR+) for about a month now, so I thought it would be a good time to do my first review of the Tesla Model 3 SR+. I went with the pearl white exterior and 18 inch aero wheels along with the white interior, and I’ll cover my thoughts on things like the exterior/interior, storage space, and autopilot after one month of ownership.

►Big Update as of 11/2/2021 - The Tesla Model 3 Standard Range Plus is now listed as the Tesla Model 3 under "Rear-Wheel Drive" on Tesla's website, and comes with a 5.8 sec 0-60 mph time now (previously 5.3 sec 0-60 mph), along with 272 miles of range with the 18" aero wheels and 267 miles of range with the 19" sport wheels (both previously listed for 262 miles of range). The starting price of the Tesla Model 3 RWD is also $43,990 now after two back-to-back $2,000 price increases in October 2021.
►Price update as of 11/4/2021 - The starting price of the Tesla Model 3 RWD is now $44,990 while the starting price of the Tesla Model 3 Long Range is now $50,990 after a $1,000 price increase for all of the Tesla Model 3 trims (starting price of the Tesla Model 3 Performance is now $58,990).

Good review. As far the AP goes you just gotta learn in which situations to use it. If the traffic is not moving at consistent speeds I drive manually. And I haven’t tried this yet but some people say in chill mode it’s less jerky.

Really enjoyed your video! I ordered my M3 SR+ a few weeks ago. My estimate delivery date switched from Feb to Nov/mid Nov but I’m definitely prepared for it to take longer. The turn signals have two positions. If you press the left stock firmly the turn signal continues to stay on if you press it lightly it only swipes three times. Voice commands are the easiest way to control the windshield wipers.

Hey Marshall nope we've been just wiping them down with water and a paper towel here and there but no discoloration so far and fingers crossed

@@andrewjun7419 they assigned a car to me on Oct 23, would’ve been able to take delivery before the end of the month. I declined delivery to wait for the 2022 model 3 and see if it was LFP, looks like I was right. My order is now on hold until Dec 1 so I can for sure get the 2022.

Good idea. I actually have one of the earlier LFP models that I ordered off existing inventory with a max range of 252 so I'm curious to see what the 0-60 time is.

Are those front white colour on your front wheels, the left right signal tool, all by default for white interior? Or did you add them? Because I didnt see it on the actual car. If you added them, how did you customized them? Thx

You say no spare tire? Did they say why?! THAT is quite a game changer! Once again you are the first to mention something so significant, and I am grateful you did! I already do not like the inability to put MY preferred 5-slot rims (Ansen) on “my” tentative Model 3! Tesla cars are looking very limiting.
For sure. I think they mentioned a couple of years ago that according to their data that a spare tire was rarely used so they got rid of it to increase space and improve range/performance, but I would definitely want a spare tire
@@CasualTeslaFan Your ending comment is “but I would definitely want a spare tire”, and yet you have a Model 3 without one. What is the plan if you get a flat? I have used my spare a few times and was glad I kept its air pressure usable! Being the man that I am, I keep a close watch on the PSI and with my older vehicle I incorporate the spare in the rotation factor. That way they all live longer. And let me remind you, I am enjoying your videos!

Tesla provides roadside assistance for 4 years or 50,000 miles, but I've read some stories of drivers waiting hours on the side of the road. Luckily haven't had to use the spare yet, but feels good to be ready just in case

Hi Armun, yup I got 35% VortexIR ceramic tint all around except for the front windshield. And I didn't get the front lights tinted, but I just finished putting PPF on them a couple of days ago
Is it hard to keep the white interior clean? At 5:00 the seat looks yellowish or is it just lighting? Great car!
Thanks Alex! And surprisingly so far so good. I've spilled a couple of drinks here and there but just used a paper towel and water to wipe them up each time. And I hope it was just the lighting because I think I only had the car for about a month at this point haha

I was also considering the speaker harness but have read that it reduces the already non-existent bass even further because the stock unit doesn't really have the power to drive those additional speakers without another amp
Ahh makes sense. Thanks for sharing Michael. I definitely have to research more and look into a kit that comes with another amp if I go through with any audio upgrades.

Nah not really. I test drove a M3 LR the other day and def felt the difference, but my RWD still felt fast afterwards. Will def have to try out the M3 Performance later and compare

I think white actual shows less dirt than some o f the other colors.
Yeah I've actually noticed that a lot of the dirt and grime on my SR+ aren't really noticeable at a distance. But close-up is a different story haha.
I was wondering if you could help me when I activate sentry mode and someone stands by my car I don’t get a notification on my phone is that supposed to happen? I asked a few people no one seems to be able to help me
Sure thing, Bill. For right now, it looks like sentry mode will only alert and send a notification to your phone when something severe enough triggers the alarm like someone smashing in a window. It would be nice to have the option to be notified for events like someone leaning against our cars, but I haven't seen that feature being mentioned in the works yet. It does look like sentry mode live camera access has started rolling out as part of software update 2021.36.8 though.

Adjust your side view mirrors to get rid of blind spots… driving 101!
True. I do my best to adjust side view mirrors to minimize blind spots and turn my head to check when changing lanes. But it was nice sometimes to just do a quick check out of the corner of my eye to see that marker in the side view mirror so I know I shouldn't change lanes while keeping my eyes on the road.

@@CasualTeslaFan Sorry if this seems intrusive but I'm gathering information to make my purchase decision which is why I'm asking. How much do you pay for insurance and which company do you use? Have you had any other cost besides financing and insurance like repairs or maintenance since you bought your M3?
@@justrandomthings319 No worries and sure thing! We use Geico and pay around $700 every 6 months for full coverage for the M3. Hoping Tesla insurance comes to Maryland soon so we can shop around and hopefully get a lower rate. Besides financing and insurance, we haven't had any other costs other than charging at home at around 16 cents per kWh and some supercharging here and there (average supercharger costs seemed to be around 40ish cents per kWh for me). Filling up the windshield wiper fluid when it ran low cost a couple dollars and probably have to rotate the tires for the first time in a couple months, but gonna try rotating myself at home
