      I agree. I was a teenager when Mad Max came out and have wanted a car with a supercharger since then. My Dad kept saying that's stupid, you cannot turn your supercharger on / off like that. I think that kind of ruined the movie for him but I didn't care.

      My dream would be a twincharged car. Like a delt s4. You get the whine at the low end and the turbo WHEEEE STUTUTU at the high end. Terribly complicated tho.

      Mercedes is the worst at that you can buy a 100,000 dollar car for like 40,000 after 2 years. Jeeps actually hold their value pretty well.

    • @eppyz
      @eppyz 6 ปีที่แล้ว +46

      Specialty low-volume production Vehicles like this Jeep will hold its value so it won't depreciate like a regular Jeep will guarantee you that it may not maintain its $100, 000 value but it's not going to depreciate a whole hell of a lot, unlesd it's got a ton of miles on it. For example I had a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 9 that I bought brand new for like $32k out the door drove it for 5 years put over 60, 000 miles on it and I sold it for $32, 000 so some cars do hold their value very well and I think this Jeep this particular version of this Jeep is one of those cars.

Also, because you CHOOSE to personalize this guy’s commentary as a “negative” thing, doesn’t actually mean that his commentary is negative. It’s literally just his honest opinion.

    I love your reviews. With that being said, I’m picking up my Trackhawk tomorrow. Traded in my ‘15 Durango RT & ‘15 Charger Hellcat on it. Picked up a used ‘18 Trackhawk with 8K miles for $72K-almost an even swap with my trades. My Trackhawk had a $99K sticker brand new. I wanted a vehicle that I can drive year round that was still fun & the Trackhawk fits that perfectly. I can throw a set of snow tires on it & have my AWD Grand Cherokee-but this winter will have some fun 707hp drifting, lol.

Thank you FCA for continuing to provide the enthusiast driving public with joy on a daily basis for almost half the cost of a comparable euro-suv.

    Hey SG, I’m the guy who distracted you while you were fuelling the Atom up at Cayuga(subbed to your Patreon for a few months to make up for that), and I had the white Trackhawk on track that day. It was stolen a month later lol, and I replaced it with a 2020. On track, and granted Cayuga is a tight course in the back half, it ass raped dudes the straights lol.
    Once I pushed it a bit in the back half, that heavy back end really started wallowing around. It’s ok on track, better on the street and strip.
    I will say that ride quality improves a lot when I put on my non run flat winter tires, but it does sacrifice some handling then. Still for the money, when I was looking to replace the 2018,nothing made any sense except to get a 2020. They are such a blast on the street.
    Yes, I re watch this video about once a month.
    Here’s hoping you reach that subscriber point where it just starts to take off, you’re very deserving of every success.

      Yo man, sorry to hear your ride got taken thats nuts. But at least its good to know you get a new one. Yeah they are crazy fast and fun. Sounds amazing and you can use all the power. It will never be great on track because of physics but its worth the time to enjoy it. Maybe will we see each other again in Canada.

    Don't understand the comment, "you take away the drivetrain and its just a jeep" - were you expecting something else? You strip away the drivetrain on a hellcat and its a challenger/charger worth like 25k or less. An SRT Cherokee is already a very expensive SUV (they’re about $80k here in Canada) so the additional 20-25k for the drivetrain is reasonable, especially considering it comes with warranty, and its not exactly something you can just add later if you want.

      My mom had a 2007 ML63 that cost 100k 12 years ago. It was almost as fast and had a far superior interior. It was about the same price as they’re trying to get for a track hawk now in Canada.

  • @americanAlienBoy
    @americanAlienBoy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    Oddly enough, I was at a track day a couple of weeks ago, and the guy next to me in the paddock had towed his C6 Z06 there behind a Trackhawk. After the Z06 blew a head gasket, he took the Jeep out. He said the brakes got real soft, real fast, and since he had a 500 mile tow ahead of him, 5 laps was enough.

    So I just recently ran into my first Trackhawk on the streets. It was dusk so around 9pm here in Pittsburgh. I heard the engine (I had the windows down) as I pulled up to the red light. I looked at the trunk to spot the logo... it was there. I say "oh shit" to myself because I know I'm gonna try to race this guy. I have a '15 Challenger SXT (LOL I know). He pulls off with the engine whining just to put me in my place. I wasn't exactly trying my best but even on my best day it would've been embarrassing.
    If I had the money I'd definitely look at a Trackhawk. I couldn't imagine getting on the open road in that thing.

    It’s a Hellcat logo, or was that the joke?
    I’m at about 3000 miles on mine, I find at about 100 you can hear the airflow noise change, and aerodynamics or lack of them become really apparent as you say.
    It ran effortless 12.00s at the strip spinning first and second for 2 second sixty foots on a crappy surface.
    I’ve always had firmly suspended cars, so Auto mode dampening levels feel pretty cushy to me.
    Around town it’s fun and sucks gas, but push the eco button and the fuel saving strategies make a difference. Once you’re over the zoomies, putting around in eco mode is fine.
    Road trips on the highway it’s pretty respectable mileage wise, and very comfortable. The stop and go adaptive cruise with lane keep assit really make munching miles pretty relaxing.
    Neither of my dogs has complained about the back seats.
    As always, great content on your part!

After test driving the TrackHawk I almost purchased one until the price of GAS here in Canada and the insane cost of Insurance compared to the USA that I have to pay over her smacked me right dab in the Face. If I lived in the US I would be driving one right now. Oh and the transmission on this thing is freaking crazy good. Way better than the BMW and the Porsche Suv. The quality of your video production, thoroughness and structure of your content along with the straight forwardness in your presentation is very much appreciated. That SRT oil pan is neat. I agree, they should've just put that logo on it instead of the trackhawk tramp stamp and ugly supercharged badge on the door. It's a shame it doesn't ride good, it'd be a great daily/long distance cruiser if it had more plush suspension. Imagine putting a giant fuel cell in the back and doing a cannonball run with this thing, it'd be epic.

    The srt10 Doge ram was available in 2 trims. A regular cab short bed with a 6 speed manual transmission. And a quad cab short bed with an automatic transmission. I ended up going with a f150 lightning 5.4 SC. Mainly because of the tuning options and honest it was cheaper. I couldn't really afford the payment on a 6 speed srt10 .

    Surprised to see you dog the interior this much. The seat cushioning sucks, yes. But in my experience, the interior is much better than just about anything else on the road short of true luxury vehicles. The seat leather with this package is world class, and damn near every surface in the cabin is covered in leather or metal. The sound dampening is also phenomenal when just driving around town or on the freeway. It's a nice place to spend time (not the back seat), but you seemed to completely ignore that. Maybe it's because of the price - I could see that, but compared to any other performance SUV, this thing is a premium bargain.

      This is an issue will GM as well as ford. Take the high end Corvette for example the asking price of $90,000 and yet is still comes equipped with cheap plastic interior. All they would have to do is charge an extra $5,000 to spruce the interior up and trust me if you can afford to pay $90,000 an extra $5,000 is nothing.
