- Another whilst compilation! Wow! Well I said (or atleast on discord) I would do one of the RDG T-1s so here ya go.
No copyright is intended. I do not own any footage, nor am I profiting off of it. This is purely for entertainment.

Reading 2101: exists
Roundhouse: *I'm about to end this man's whole carrer*
2816 Productions lol
True
lmao
Such a beautiful locomotive, now Rusting away, if she does rust away to bits of metal, she will steam on forever in us railfans hearts
2102 is to return very soon!
@@ScaniaVabis580 same with 2100! although later, it will come
@@ScaniaVabis580 she's had her ups and downs, but she's run a lot
Petition to at least cosmetically restore her in Chessie scheme and open up her legendary cab for display, and maybe put the whistle on air and let people ring the bell
THAT'S GENIUS
BTW, Fun Fact:
Did u know that RDG 2101’s Auxiliary water tender was originally a New York Central L-3 Mohawk’s tender? Specifically L-3b Mohawk #3042
Very cool fact!
Commanding Officer Kanawha Thx!
@@mikestudioz3390 you just taught me something! I appreciate it too! Thanks!
Currently sits behind L-3a Mohawk #3001 at the National New York Central Museum in Elkhart, IN if I remember correctly. I did not know it came from the 3042 though. Pretty neat.
There’s nothing wrong with a water tender.
The Queen of the reading/american freedom /chessie s voice has been heard
0:21 Sounds really epic!
Now DAT is music to my ears
It sure is!
1977-1978
That first clip was absolutely perfect
At least a part of her legacy will live on once 2100 is fully fired up with 2101's tender.
2101 a water tender?
@@harrystoller4147 Yes. After the roundhouse fire, 2101 had her tender swapped with sister unit 2100.
If they get the 2100 running first or the 2102 running, either way, I hope for the same whistle or equivalent from the 2101 to be installed on the other members undergoing restorations. I also hope they move the 2101 somewhere to be repainted for indoor display. It just breaks my heart to see a beautiful steamer go to waste.
Yes hear that whistle blow
Unique Model Trains yes
Love that 6 chime whistle
That is a K5LA 5 Chime whistle.
@@SuperFoxyRailwayProduction6702 then why it sounds like a 6 chime
@@thewestrailway I agree, it does sound like a 6 chime, but it’s actually a 5. Its chimes produce the same musical notes as a K5LA air horn, hence its name.
This engine once used to sing so well to so many, engulphed in flames and almost destroyed in moments. Today, she's getting treatment the she needs, soon she'll get another chance at life and will sing once again. It's only a matter of time.
Let's hope so but it's not going to happen anytime soon
@@anthonynigri4058 True, she still needs a lot of work done to get running again
there *is* a GoFundMe for a 2101 restoration!
Best example of a 6 chime, imo.
It's a K5LA
Petition to repaint 2101 into chessie plz
plz
Corey Page yes
2101 is still in the American Freedom Train paint.
@@steamtrainfan9542 I am aware. I made the comment because I like the Chessie scheme more, and 2101 needs a repaint anyway.
Indeed, Ive been wanting to start a petition for a few years now. If money was no object. She would be under our care and preservation at the Reading Railroad Museum and she would be restored. Trust me on that.
@@LycomingRailfan I would love to see 2101 at the RDG Railroad Heritage Museum. But yes, money and in their case space is an issue.
0:54 was my favorite ;)
sounds like a shay whistle.
At 0:01 The whistle sounds like NKP 765 Nathan 6 chime whistle from 2012-2018
No it was K5LA whistle
@Kymani Brown thanks
@@SuperFoxyRailwayProduction6702 But it sounds like NKP 765
it's a shame that 2101 will never run again after that fire 4 decades ago and its safe to say 2100 and 2102 will be the only Reading t1s running in the future which I'm fine with
EvanF1293 while it is a shame that she was burned up, you are correct that we do have two others returning in the future being 2100 and 2102, which I think is great
@@commandingofficerkanawha7546 yeah and that they'll both most likely be operational sometime this year
@@commandingofficerkanawha7546 why not just take 2100, and make her the new 2101 lol
I will restore her! Even though im 11
Better them than none. After all, all of the running T1s were Reading Ramblers, so while it may be a bit sad that 2101 isn’t running, 2100 and 2102 are more than enough. Who knows, we might even get a Chessie Steam Special excursion.
I really Iove this K5LA whistle, included the one of C&O #614
Great video
after the b&o railway musuem fire happend, 2101 never looked the same again
Actually the fire wasn’t at the B&O RR museum, it was at a Chessie System roundhouse in Kentucky and she was cosmetically restored after the fire but years of outdoor storage and vandals took a tole on the engine.
@@commandingofficerkanawha7546 oh damm, no one touches the chessie, repaint 2101 and rebuild her to cosmetic condition again
Which whistle did 2101 wear during preservation years? I love that sound of those 6 chimes.
i heard it was a reproduction B&O 6 Chime specially remade for 2101 to wear by Chessie, destroyed in the fire.
This whistle is a K5LA, and i know it dosen't sounds like a horn but it play the same notes has horn
Same goes to C&O #614
Mmm toasty
1:54 that smoke looks tinted green
I wonder Rizzoli Locomotive Works will ever try copying that whistle? It's my all time favorite. I'd love to hear it again in person.
I didn't know 2101 had such a similar sounding whistle to 614, I guess it makes sense though since the K5LA was the pseudo Chessie standard.
Does anybody know if this is the same whistle they put on 614, or a different whistle tuned to the same notes?
love the whistle would you do Steam Locomotive Music Videos.
Chessie steam 2101 was retired
Fun fact:
Did you know that the tender was actually a Chesapeake and Ohio tender?
Well as usual C&O 614
It is the tender of C&O #614
@@SuperFoxyRailwayProduction6702 That was my old comment

😳 nice
i dig this whistle
#rebuild 2101 and then possibly
#FIREUPRDG/CHESSIE2101T1Northern
The 2101 is far to gone and damaged to be rebuilt. However we do have T-1 northern 2100 and 2102 being restored
@@commandingofficerkanawha7546 yeah, BUT NO STEAMER DESERVES TO END A CARREEER THIS WAY, and she cant even be cosemtically restored or have her tender saved
So this means they swapped tenders at some point before being retired
@@commandingofficerkanawha7546 #2101 isn’t far too gone, it’s just at the time, it was more economically cheaper and faster to restore another locomotive than to repair #2101, thus the reason why Chesapeake & Ohio #614 was restored.
Not saying she’s needs to be restored; it’s just she isn’t beyond repair.
What's the name of the whistle at 0:01?
Sounds kinda like the 614s whistle
Matt Gaming That’s because it’s the same whistle
