LG G1 C1 OLED Game Optimizer Boost Setting, It Does More Than You Know

  • I have been investigating what all effects are caused by the boost input delay setting. Aside from its main effect (around 10ms input lag at 60Hz) it also effects your shadow detail and overall brightness. But there is a catch!

    Thank you for this, I wish more people payed this much (due) attention to these things! It's a >$1000 display, I don't want it to look fone & good enough. I want it to look the best it can and for that it has to adhere to standards as closely as possible. I don't want no black crush or oversaturated colours on a $300 monitor, let alone a thing like this.
    Wish you had done the measurements for SDR mode as well. There's a lot of games that don't support HDR still.

      @silverwatchdog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Intilially it was quite bad but now I found a neat trick to basically remove abl or at least not make it noticeably. You must be using windows 11 for this to work though. You must set OLED pixel brightness to 100 and in windows enable HDR and set your SDR brightness slider to what you want (I chose 50). It's important that you use windows 11 because it will distinguish between what's hdr and not and map the colours accordingly. Windows 10 just mapped everything to HDR and washed out everything not HDR to a point where it was unusable.

Games like destiny 2 and no mans sky really pop with hgig as does the mass effect trilogy remasters on series x but there are alot of other games that it really doesn't help with. Like elden ring, that looks great with tone mapping on and bad with hgig. You can get peak brightness to be available if you use another setting other than game optimiser but then you missing out on all the other settings. If you want to play sdr games I swear by isf bright room as it makes the picture in sdr content much brighter. Does sharpness improvement or noise removal options affect input lag?

    • @silverwatchdog
      @silverwatchdog 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For gaming none of those settings do anything. It specifically says not available when connected to PC. I have tested sharpness too which you can still change but it does nothing on a PC. If you could enable them on a console don't! It will add so much input lag that it makes the game unplayable. Always use game optimized for anything you need go interact with, like pc or console.

Literally not even slightly... everything I do on controller whiles playing games both at 30 fps 60fps seems lightspeed. Very very minimal input lag definitely not noticeable
