There's a review of this camera against the GP12 from someone who used it to mountain bike, the Ace Pro was the winner, but nice try. I have Sony, GoPro, DJI and Insta360 so I'm not bias, every camera has it's pros, sorry, from the looks of this camera, I'm voting for Ace Pro.
Go pro is 10 bit, insta 360 8 bit. Something to consider when purchasing an action camera. Go pro is more cinematic, initially the 360 looks better because of the sensor. For editing I would use go pro

7:36 You "forgot" to mention that this is what GoPro calls HindSight - it allows you to save the last 15 or 30 seconds of video (you can select either from the settings) when you hit the shutter button and then it continues recording normally until you hit the shutter button again.
It's been around since Hero 9.
Insta360 didn't invent (or reinvent) the wheel on that subject.

Yep you are right. She didn't mention the voice control option in the GoPro as well.
And she forgot the LOG feature on GoPro where we can adjust the highlights and shadows..
She is biased, she is being paid for it and also other youtubers who compare GoPro with ace pro all are paid by insta 360😂

I am a fan of GoPro cameras and I will always be a fan, but this time Insta360 really got me... the big sensor is very attractive tbh
Insta360 and OSMO action camera are better than GoPRo. I mean 5x better, no heating, Longer battery backup, better low light imaging.
As a regular GoPro user, i have to admit that its clear the Ace Pro brings a considerable amount of creative power to the table. Id like to pick up one to compare.

Excellent! It looks like these are both great cameras, clearly the Insta360 ace pro is a lot better in lower light but the GoPro seems to be totally equal in good light in fact, maybe even a little bit better. I prefer the tones of the GoPro in good light.

For the record, the "Pre-Recording" function can be set to either 15 or 30 seconds, just as GoPro's Hindsight feature works. The only contender out in the cold on that feature now is DJI.

Does the pre-record chew up battery life? I'm assuming that's it's recording silently with those features. The pause function is something the other competitors should have had long ago, it was a feature that was asked over and over again and sad the only company that listened is Insta360.

In Pre-Record (Insta/DJI) or Hindsight (GoPro), the cams are constantly recording, but dumping off the data beyond 30 seconds from the buffer (assuming you have it set to 30sec). When you then hit record, it appends the last 30 seconds of video to the beginning of file. So yes, it will chew up batteries. Ideally, you want to have the cam externally powered if you are going to use them this way. For instance, I have a modest kayak fishing channel. My GoPro 12s are externally powered with a 20aH battery box. I keep the cams running in Hindsight and paired to a remote. When I catch a fish, I discretely hit the record button as soon as I can and never miss a hookset. It's a GREAT feature and is very useful, but it is kinda "niche". Not a whole lot of people have a need for it.
Both cams are out of focus when vlogging at an arms lenght, but GoPro seems to be a tad more focused. Thats a shame since they all market those cams as vlogging capable - when if fact they are not unless you snap on a close focus adjustment lense.
The low light video is superior!
Insta360 seems to be the winner in technological performance but what about waterproofness / shockproofness / durability - all that stuff? These things that made GoPro the togo choice for years now?

Insta is great but is more of a vlogging camera, as you have proved too. More of a family holiday camera. So I ll skip this one as it doesn’t do much “action” . I ll keep my gopro 11 and the insta 360 one rs as they do stand for action. Good video

They are action cameras and should be tested in action. For a vlogging in hotel room there are better cameras - modern smartphones or Osmo Pocket 3. And they are better in this job.

An action camera comparison but without action sports? Fpv camera footage of sports like skiing, biking etc is where the Gopro excels. You may see minor differences in stabilization when walking or jogging but those minor differences can be huge difference in situations where there is extreme camera shake. The Ace pro has nice low light and 8k footage, but at 24fps it's not that great for sports whereas the Gopro has 5.3k and 60 fps.
it is a shame gopro cannot overlay garmin gps/cycling stats. very easy to do with insta360. that is where i am stuck, can't decide which one to get
There are 3rd party apps that can overlay .gpx file data over video using graphs, speedometers, incline levels etc. There are a few TH-cam videos which show you what app is needed and how to do it.

Still undecided. Neither seemed highly superior to the other. Price point is about $109 different. Insta360 is hard to find outside of the online store. GoPro is carried by many retailers. One is made in US the other China. It may very well come down to that. This will be my first action camera.
I hate to break it to you, GoPros are made and assembled in China lol Designed in the US but 'made' in China as to most electronics these days. Also, before you knock down this company, do a search on the company history. You do realized that Insta360 partnered with Leica and why this camera's quality shines due to the Leica engineered lens not to mention you're great american NASA used the Insta360 Pro on the mars lander and winning an Emmy and used insta360 again to live stream via mission control for the Rover.

Sorry but I don’t find a flip screen a good idea for action. And if you can t change the lens cover…..well and for that price?!?……I stick to my gopro 11 and to my insta 360 one rs with the 1 inch leica module and the 360 module……sorry but have a normal screen, use the front screen as the dji and gopro , that would have helped to keep the price under 400 so than would have been a great camera and a-lens cover that can be changed. Very simple , don t know how did they missed it
It's funny how everyone would sacrifice quality of video for features like "flip" screen or no removable cover lol. If GoPro came out with a flip screen all the fanboys would be like wow oouuu aahhhh great idea and let's not forget, GoPro also had their share of non removable lens models and they still sold like hotcakes, I know, I use to sell them lol. I find it very odd that a lot of people are over looking these very innovative features not to mention the superior quality in so many areas against these minor not really huge issues imo. I do alot of 'extreme' type sports and never once have I broken a lens cover. I either have a housing on mine or use a ND UV filter which I would use for this Ace Pro if I got one, problem solved. I just got note that Insta360 is offering free lens cover replacement/repair under the warranty umbrella. As for the flip up screen, Insta360 is targeting ALL audience especially the social media community for Vlogging and let's be honest, more and more users are using action cams for vlogging. So basically people would love to see these features but when a company listens and add these features the same people will condemn them for doing it LOL

Is it me but the GoPro video looks horrible at the bridge sound test at 3:18 and on? the colors look 'bland and shaded" and look at the sky, that's pretty bad imo. Overall from all the side by side, the Ace Pro has better quality, dynamic range and brighter, the night shots is no competition, GoPro's videos are almost unusable. Ace Pro wins for me. The low light, lossless zoom and pause function is a game changer for me. A great review but at the end you say it's a hard choice but sounds like you've made your choice from the list of pros of the Ace Pro over the GP ;)

From all the early reviews I watched today, it seems like you guys received a different version compared to the one Insta360 is promoting commercially. On their website, they show the 8k capabilities, and none of you mentioned it, which is quite surprising!
I am not sure, but I guess that kind of image level will be gotten once
the company releases a special update to be downloaded, or incorporated,
in the future. So, probably now these cameras are sold not ready yet for 8K.
There's a few reviews with the 8K, it's not a huge feature as this camera is quite young in it's release but I suspect they will focus on this feature in future upgrades, the hardware is there but I don't think they are really pushing it because tbh, 8K is not huge right now cause not a lot of things can view 8K but I would bet that Insta360 is laying this dormant for the time being. From what I've seen in other reviews, the 8K sensor does play a part in recording via the 2x no loss zoom. Again, the hardware is there ;)
Scratch or break the lens cover and you have a very expensive paperweight.
Get a UV ND filter, it's $10, how much is the replacement GP12 cover? $25 here in Canada, keep paying into GoPro's big pockets lol Not a valid reason to discredit this camera when there are so many other features that out shine it's competitor. GoPro 8 didn't have a removable screen protector either and yet it sold like hotcakes.

Ace Pro for the win over GoPro. The Ace Pro is simply more USABLE than the GoPro. I can grab and go with the Ace Pro, shoot great video, and it’s fun to do at the same time. And PureView makes having the camera going at night so much better. When the sun would go down, the GoPro would go away but not with the Ace Pro. Very happy with my unit and my GoPro is gone!
But outdoor GoPro is better!
