Our tech spent sooooo long on baby's cardiovascular system it made us incredibly nervous, turns out she was a heart specialist prior and thought our baby had an incredibly beautiful system😂
This is so nice. I'm not planning on experiencing pregnancy and I'm glad I won't have to go through the hard parts, but I'm also sad I won't get to experience the fun, memorable, interesting, or meaningful parts. So I love this series because I get to vicariously live through your vlogs. Thank you so much for sharing this incredible experience!
As a disorganized person who wants kids someday, I think this is genuinely one of the parts of pregnancy that I’m most nervous about lol. Like all the pain and symptoms and such? Ehh sure I’ll deal. But the paperwork? Ugh!!
im disorganised, haven't seen my family for 3 years (im in canada, they're in australia), and just moved across the country at 20 weeks 😅 it's been a LOT. but totally a wonderful experience.
There are several codes when it come to blood tests, labs never admit to mistakes, they always blame the blood takers… Hope this helps! “Bottle labelled wrong” = someone got two tests mixed up and so blamed the labeller “Bottle wasn’t filled up enough” = dropped the sample in the lab
haha, I work in a lab and this definitely sounds true. we also have the converse of “does this 3000 year old vampire belong in our under 25s study” when things do get labelled wrong!
So just a little clear-up: the Rh+ type means there ARE certains antigens on blood cells (basically little molecules that give the body info about the cell). If you are Rh-, this antigen is NOT present on your cells and your immune system will attack any Rh+ cells with antibodies (so antiBODIES rcognize and attack antiGENS). So if the bloods of Rh- mother and 1st Rh+ baby gets mixed, the antibodies get created and are stil present/ready to be made in mother's body with following pregnancies and can harm following Rh+ babies. Hope that helps!
You're welcome, everybody! I'm happy I could clarify this interesting and important thing as the baby scientist that I am. It's obviously all a bit more complicated and I don't understand the complicated part nearly that well but I'm sure there are plenty of resources if anyone's interested.
As an Rh- women who tried to have babies last year, I ended up learning quite a bit about it. There’s a shot you can take to prevent you from making the antibodies. I got them during my miscarriages, so I’m really hoping that they prevented me from making those antibodies. The Rh factor is usually not an issue during first pregnancy unless there is spotting/bleeding because it only becomes a problem after being exposed to the baby’s blood through things like miscarriage or childbirth.
Yes pregnancy and then child raising has definitely made me more attached to my husband. But I also have a very active co-parent/partner and we carry equal workloads. I imagine if others had partners who weren’t as active then they may have the opposite reaction. But 2 babies in, my partner and I are closer than ever and it just keeps getting better. I love him more all the time.
I hadn't heard anyone try to verbalize the feeling of attachment toward the father/partner during pregnancy, but I definitely feel similarly right now at 21 weeks! As soon as you started explaining I knew exactly the feeling you were talking about.
Pregnant at the same time as my favourite TH-camr, same blood type and found out I need the Anti-D injections… only difference is I’m having Twins! I wish you the best Hannah! Feels like having a friend going through this at the same time! Xx
13:00 Heard about that? In the hospital there is a culture of "report all errors, fix all processes". Mislabling a bottle may seem harmless, but some tests have special requirements that are annoying for the patient to reproduce. Or the test result is time sensitive. Not all patients enjoy getting blood taken, so this is considered a critical error. After such errors are made, its often discussed within the team to learn from it. 1. Be aware of what can go wrong. 2. Understand why its a serious case. 3. There is no blame, we are here to learn from mistakes that can happen to all of us. 4. What key part of the process or order of operations will prevent mislabeling / should have been followed to prevent said error. Its just human work and accidents happen - but we can structure our work in a way where accidents rarely happen. -Hospital worker from the Netherlands
I think part of the problem lately is labs are so understaffed. I don’t work in a pathology lab but I’ve heard similar stories from my friends who do (I do work in a lab though) where the pay is terrible and the expectations are too much to cope with so people are quitting left and right then the people doing the job are new and inexperienced which leads to more mistakes and the people who are experienced end up feeling the most strain because we’re the ones who get more of the important work on top of our daily workload and the cycle continues. It’s been pretty crazy at the moment and even in my team of 25 people in the past 18 months 25 people have quit (some of those started and left within those 18 months) and there’s only 8 of us left that have been there longer than 2 years. We’re all aware of why the problems happen but when you’re so snowed under it’s so easy for you to mess up on the most basic things especially when you’ve got new people you’re overseeing in training at the same time and management and chasing you about why you haven’t managed to get all your normal workload done it the day even though they’ve assigned you a person to train at the same time it’s crazy
After following you for so many years knowing that you have come so far in TH-cam and life gives me so much joy. My wife and I are also expecting our first and we are right behind you in regards to when our little one is due. I will say when I felt my little one kick for the very first time it was complete Euphoria. Time literally stopped for me just knowing that there is a life growing inside my wife and we are just so excited. We have apparently discovered that our little one likes classic rock. Every time my wife plays classic rock on her radio the baby goes crazy and we just love it.
Hi Hannah - I have 2 children both born prematurely (pre-labour) by c-section for medical reasons. The first one was planned and the second one was an emergency. I gave birth at a small hospital in Surrey and while I had ALWAYS imagined I would give birth vaginally, I had really good c-section experiences. Especially with my second one. It was a quite high grade emergency c-section so they rounded up the most senior staff available for the surgery and it went so well. Absolutely think about it and do what's right for you but as someone who desperately wanted to give birth vaginally and ended up needing c-sections, they can be a really good option, especially if you research and prepare for it.
For your hip pain this something you can buy called a pregnancy support belt .The belly bands for pregnancy helps ease the pain and discomfort of pregnancy, supporting your belly and relief your hip, pelvic and sacroiliac pain, bladder pressure and other common stretching pains during pregnancy. I’m glad that everything is going to plan.
I can't even imagine only getting two scans! I'm currently 14 weeks with TWINS! (still reeling from that news). And I have had three ultrasounds already, and will have to go to Maternal Medicine every other week starting in two weeks to make sure everything is okay. I don't think this is always the case, but my babies are identical and sharing a placenta, so we need to closely monitor that they are sharing nutrients properly. But the bonus is I get to see them a bunch
All the best to you and your little ones! I had twins and now pregnant with a singleton. Quite a different experience regarding the amount of appointments I DON’T have this time round 🤪
From week 28 I had a scan every week to two weeks as baby was apparently measuring small(she was bigger than my previous 2 babies) it's was like my 2nd home😂
@@alicekelly6558 that's definitely gonna be me! In a few weeks here, I'll be there at least once for three weeks straight: I have my bi-weekly appointment, then my anatomy AND echo, then my next bi-weekly. So I'll be there a whole bunch! No complaints though if it means keeping babies healthy
I’m not surprised that there has been many lab errors or specific problems. Path Labs are under so much pressure during these times. Absolutely insane.
i know what you mean about the deep sadness when dan goes away. whenever i'm away from home and i'm not around other people (especially when i'm trying to go to sleep) i'm like oh. i am alone. and then i cry so big mood on that one (but it makes me feel a bit better to know it's not just me)
Me too! any time my husband has been on a work trip I MELT DOWN. I thought I was insane and overly attached and clingy with my partner! So nice to know i'm really not alone with this!
I am an introvert / my wife is extrovert and pre covid I had to travel for work on almost a weekly basis. Your feelings at 38 mins into this vid are totally valid and we went through the same thing. I needed to stop traveling as it was causing to much mental strain. The 1 good thing to come out of Covid is this problem has been solved. Hannah and Dan totally feel ya.
From pregnant friends I've heard nursing bras can accomadate a lot of sizes and be comfortable to wear during pregnancy. I don't know if you have lindex in the UK, but they're supposed to be quite good. 😊
Highly recommend the lindex nursing bras. I was advised by my midwife to wear nursing bras as soon as possible to support milk production etc. honestly, they’re so comfy and stretchy :) Loved this video! It’s great to watch someone going through the same experience near the same time as yourself. ❤️
I totally and completely relate to you when you said you get very upset when your partner is away. My husband had to be gone for 5 days for the first time since we moved in together and I cried the whole time and felt like I couldn't function without him! He's absolutely my rock and it definitely made me appreciate all that he does for me that much more now every single day!!!
I didn't find out with my now 8 month old. I think it's fine if you want to find out, I also think I would find out if I had another. What I find weird is the gender reveal parties.
@@Karis94 i agree. There's nothing weird about wanting to be prepared by knowing what you're having. It's It's you get everyone together and make it a huge celebration just for their sex!
I really appreciate how you shared how you feel when Dan goes away. I have such a hard time especially at night when my husband is gone and I've always felt ashamed that it's difficult for me. It's lovely to know that others feel that way.
31:26 24 weeks is when I was born in 2000 and they made me survive then, and technology has only gotten better since then so I feel like it would definitely survive. Great milestone to reach, I'm so happy for you Hannah!
Most general hospitals (in the UK at least) are split into "Medicine" and "Surgery", based on the treatment you are expected to have when you arrive. Medicine encompasses everything unless you need a surgeon. The exclusion to that is Maternity units which are managed separately (you can't sit on a waiting list to have a baby...!) but with input from those divisions depending on your comorbidities. If you were speaking to a Mr or Ms, they were a surgeon. Surgeons have doctorates nowadays but we have kept the old school convention of referring to surgeons as though they don't have medical degrees.
I think Hannah is the only person I can see a 51:41 minute video for and be so excited to watch it 😂 especially the pregnancy updates! It’s been so great to follow along this journey.
I'm the first of my friends and family to be pregnant so at times, I feel a little lonely. But this vlog makes me feel like I'm going through this with a friend. So thank you! Happy third trimester, hope it sails by! X
I love that you wont be finding out the genetalia of the baby before its born. I can’t say for sure, but I think that would be what I would choose myself. But it seems like everyone else always wants to find out as soon as possible. Where they stress about clothes and what to buy, snd how to buy baby stuff without knowing. I love blue, baby blue particulary, I would dress any baby in blue, no matter what genetalia a baby have 😄
Just to ease your mind - my mum is Rh- and both my siblings and I are Rh+ and everything went fine :) We just had to stay in hospital few days to make sure we’re all good and now we’re all grown ups thinking about our own kids.
Watching this with my 2 month old bub sleeping next to me is so, so surreal. I remember just looking at my husband and instantly bursting into tears because I loved him so much. I thought it was just me.
Ahhh, I'm so excited for you, Hannah! This video brought back all the memories from my own pregnancy. Hope the 3rd trimester isn't too mean for you, just remember to rest lots and enjoy all of the loveliness & it won't belong until you meet them!!
It's so great to see you so happy (specially when you talk about Dan feeling the baby movements for the first time), you look beautiful pregnant. Thanks for sharing your journey!
Non-wired nursing bras that fitted me during pregnancy still fitted postpartum while breastfeeding, even though my boobs grew even more when milk came in, but definitely would not have fitted pre-pregnancy or after weaning. So nursing bras are pretty accommodating with size changes, especially ones that aren’t numbered sizes! (For reference, I grew about 4 cup sizes from start to postpartum!)(also, leakages can happen even months before baby is out and actively nursing, so a bra and pads can be useful before!)
Totally agree. Highly recommend Molke bras. They grew with me throughout and washed so well, I could even throw them in the tumble dryer. So important when you soak them with milk daily 😅
i’m simultaneously watching yours and Taylor Rs pregnancy videos and like blame it on the hormones (i’m very much not pregnant and my uterus is yelling at me for it) but i’m just continuously sobbing like i’m so happy and hyped for you!!!
Taylor’s story is just so amazing 🤩 I went through the same thing as she did at the same time, and am expecting twins in may. Gives me a whole other level of appreciation for these videos ❤️
You gushing over your husband for 2 mins was by far my favourite part of this video. I'm really looking forward to hearing you talk more about waiting to find out about the baby's genitals. My partner and I are hoping to start trying for our first next year and we've already talked about how we want to wait as well.
When I did a pilates instructor training my instructor told me that squats are actually really great for pelvic floor exercise while pregnant because they teach you to both relax and contract your pelvic floor! I never fact checked this (maybe you can look into it) but she said that she'd read that kegels can actually contribute to tearing
I’m in my 2nd trimester and I found this video so reassuring! I was saying ‘yes, that’s how I feel’ or ‘yes, I had that!!’ at the tv throughout the video. Thank you Hannah for sharing your experience 😊
Think I left a comment last time about how I was told to have an elective C-section due to my IBD, I'm relieved that they've told you guys about this possibility now! I think it was definitely the best option for me. The recovery was hard but the C-section itself was a relatively chill experience which was a huge relief as I already have a ton of medical trauma.
Here is a fun thing. I had my first baby 23 years ago, at which time my blood group was O negative. 4 years later when I had my second baby, I was recorded as O positive! My blood group did not change though. I actually tested as a weak positive the first time, so to be safe they treated me as negative, and at that point they gave anti D directly after birth. So the second time I was pregnant, the test was better, and I was confirmed true rhesus positive. It confused a lot of doctors in my second pregnancy 😂
I felt comforted by what you said about Dan’s business trip making you sad. My husband is on the other end of the country for six months and even though I can visit him, every time we part I get really sad and feel fragile.
I still find it so cool that you share this experience with us. As a person that has not been pregnant yet but plans to in a couple of years, I am so curious . :D
antibody is the word you're looking for :) antigen is whatever the antibody is made to fit, in that case the positive rhesusfactor much more important, it's so cool seeing you so excited! may it all go as smoothly as possible!
Obviously, I know neither of you personally, I simply find your youtube videos instructive, educational, and amusing. That said, Dan has struck me as a stoic person (caring and dry-wittedly funny as well) when he's joined you in your videos. So, your story about the first time he could feel the baby kick, and y'all both had massive grins on your faces - that was amusing. I'm so pleased for you both and wishing y'all well.
When I was pregnant I was also playing tennis and around 20 weeks I had the most excruciating pain in my pelvis for a week after the lesson. I stopped after that, and learned that actually here they don't advise to play tennis after about 20 weeks and up to 3 months after delivery because it's very hard on your pelvis/hips.
oh, i'm watching this video in bed before i sleep because my husband is away (for the first time since we got married last year). i don't like the quiet evenings so this video has kept me company - i can totally relate to the crying about it!! xxx
the baby is so lucky to have hannah as their mother. not only do they get the coolest, most interesting, compassionate and lovely mother to look up to, but they also have all these videos before they even popped out to see how wanted, loved and welcome into their family they are
Hannah, Thankyou so much for educating people on what a 20 week scan is about- as someone who had a baby who had a birth defect (my son has a large case of Spina bifida occulta) it's so important for people to realise it is a health scan and not a GENDER SCAN. My son is healthy and at age 8 is not having any difficulties with his S.B but so many people don't prepare themselves for anything other than good news at them scans and it's so important to realise it is a health scan. Sorry for rambling but its something I'm very passionate about! X
Thank you ahead of time, Hannah, for the future Mona episode. Being a male in my 40's pregnancy and stoma don't intertwine with me, but as I have said, I am genuinely interested in how that goes. My complications have been bad enough, I can't imagine how the stoma and preg bump and growth coexist.
I so feel you missing a spouse as a fellow extravert. I think it’s more normal than we feel we’re allowed to feel it is!! I’m nearly 3 years married and still have worked hard to make it that we haven’t had a proper night apart!! Really hard when it means not accepting work as a creative but also good to respect my own mental health. Somewhere in there, there’s balance! All the best for trimester 3, love the updates!!
When I was born in the early 80's there was no injection for mothers with negative rhesus types and positive babies. So it is extremely fortunate that I and my sister are A- like our mother considering that our father was A+. My aunt lost her second child because it was A+ and her first had also been A+. Thankfully her next 3 pregnancies all the babies were A-, because her youngest was born in the early 70s. The injection wasn't avilable until something like 1985.
Oh wow, I didn’t realize it wasn’t available until so late in some places. The injection was initially made available in 1968 but I guess it wouldn’t be widely accessible for so many years.
Where are you? In the States it was late 60s early 70s. Most of the women in my family are Rh-. I happen to be positive. But according to family lore I barely survived and had to have my blood replaced twice to get rid of my mum’s antibodies. My mum & grandmothers lost so many babies because of this. The shot became available between me and my younger brothers. My older siblings are all Rh- and the younger three in my family are Rh+.
I had my first baby 12/28/21 and I’ve loved watching your journey. I needed a c-section and I felt the same way. If it was needed then the doctors know best. Proud of you for feeling the same. I also was obsessed with my partner and so in love with him during pregnancy. Some feel the absolute opposite.
I am 25 weeks pregnant and now that you said it I TOTALLY relate to feeling way more attached to my husband! Never occurred to me it was a pregnancy/hormone thing but maybe it is! Good luck with your third trimester!
Honestly it was so nice to hear about the negative and postive blood stuff. My family had historical complications around not being offered the anti-D injection and if I have a baby, then I'll have to be really vigiliant. Never heard anyone mention it before so thank you!
You looked stunning especially in that outro, just gotta say! But also, as always thanks for sharing. Learning so much as someone in my mid-20s who's open to having a baby sometime in the future!!
first baby movements you feel are so funny. I used to say to people "you remember when you were trying to get pregnant, and you were feeling EVERY twinge and wondered "is that a pregnancy symptom or do I have gas?"... same thing for early baby movements." RE: the 20 week scan... not always accurate - My son scanned perfectly and he was born with two thumbs on one hand. But they are usually reliable for finding things like Downs and skeletal issues, or organ issues (My niece had an under developed kidney - found on ultrasound). Lastly RE: C-Section - Schedule it! Vaginal birth would be ideal, but like you said - you can never guarantee. Back to my son - we had a scan the week before he was born - all good - but turned out he had tied his cord in a knot and I had to be rushed to surgery. Everything could look normal and you could still be smashed into the ER. C-Section is risky, but way more risky if it's unplanned. Unless your senior surgon could be on call the week you are due? can they pull that string for you?
About nursing bras - for the first week or two you'll be mostly at home anyway, just buy a couple of nursing tank tops. They have space for breast pads in case you leak, and you can have easy access while you wait for your milk supply to regulate. Then after a couple of weeks you'll have a better idea of what your size is, and then you can buy a few comfortable nursing bras.
As someone else who has experienced pregnancy with colitis, I’m reliving this through your videos! I want another one so bad. Just went through so much to get there
My mum is a community midwife and one of the things she says is good for bonding (for all parents) with baby is to read a favourite story to the bump. When you’re reading you’ll naturally create vocal rhythms and if you do this while pregnant, when the baby is born if not settling and you start to tell the story to your baby it will recognise the rhythms of the story and this can be a way to aid with settling as it’s something familiar in an unfamiliar world (as babies don’t know dinosaurs are extinct as she likes to say). This has come from talking about how when in work you often use a “script” even if it’s not actually a script it’s just something you’ve found perfectly conveys what you’re trying to say, for me in retail and these are the examples my mum has given with midwifery
I definitely understand the “more attached” to your partner feeling. But I think that’s also because my partner has been trying harder to be helpful and show his love and understanding to watch I’m going through but I truely believe they also feel more connected to us since now their offspring is in us 🤣
I feel you so much on the whole "being away from your partner is hard" like... we're not even married. We don't have a baby. But because of the pandemic, we've literally been together almost 24/7 for the last two years. He goes into the office for one day and I just get so sad. It's even worse when we're apart for the night. It just feels like a part of me is missing when he's not around, as cheesy as that sounds. It gets easier to not cry the longer we're apart - we were apart for a few weeks a few months ago and I managed that ok - but god, the first few nights are exceptionally hard.
Hannah thank you so much for being honest about your feelings with Dan going away! I am the same with my partner, hate being alone, love being around him and his support! I often get teary when he’s not around! X
I’m also expecting my (our) first child, and I just love following you! Your a number of months ahead of me, my baby’s due date is the 21st of July. I’m currently in week 16+2 and I can’t wait to feel the baby move! I’ve seen them move a bunch on the ultrasounds, and it’s amazing to see! I wish you, your husband and little baby the very best and look forward to follow the rest of your journey as well 💕🥰
About the blood tube not filling all the way up: if the phlebotomist was using a butterfly needle (with the tubing) but was not using a discard tube, that little amount of air that's in the tubing will go into the blood tube and can prevent it from filling up all the way. If that is what's causing the problem, she should pop on a discard tube to remove the air in the tubing, and then pop on the actual tube you need for the test. :)
I totally thought it was all just in my head, but hearing you talk about your attachment to your partner, I was like yes that is exactly what I've been going through! I just felt overfilled with love for my husband, even though he wasnt doing anythinh special. I am 27 weeks pregnant with my first so I love being able to follow your journey at the same pace as mine ❤
I am 15 weeks pregnant and when you said about the bralettes I feel that SO much. I cannot stand a normal bra anymore, hate them. Invested in a nice set from M&S are they so comfy. Also I hope you do well with the blood thinning injects, I have to have them for the whole pregnancy due to history of DVT, and I cried SO much the first time I did it, but actually its really not that bad, and I've gotten used to it. So I hope you are ok with it as well.
Not a medical professional but have been an inpatient for very long periods of time, the blood bottles are usually a vacuum, so when you insert a line to the bottle it starts filling up, but the air in the line takes up a small bit of space so doesn't allow the bottle to fill up any more, I'm on warfarin and get. bloods done regularly and my nurse uses another bottle until the blood is completely through the line then switches to the correct blood bottle so nothing is missing. Hope that helps! :)
11:25 - Ooh I was wondering if you’d get a ‘Baby On Board’ badge! They’re such a good idea, as it can be hard to tell if someone has a bump or not, especially in the winter!
@@notme606 To alert people that you’re pregnant so they may be more careful around (not bump into you) or offer their seat for you on the tube in London ☺️
‘Group & Save’ is the name of the blood typing blood test. They’re very annoying to take as you have to have the test done at least twice on 2 separate occasions. For all blood tests usually a printed sticker is put on them. But for a group & save it has to be hand written. So if your name is spelt wrong or even if the handwriting isn’t legible then the sample will be rejected..it’s actually quite common!! Can be very annoying for the patients (and staff too)!
I've been so excited for this video ever since I watched the one for your first trimester ! For the first 6 months of my pregnancy I was trapped in an abusive relationship with the father & for the last 3 months I was so disabled by the strain to my back that I was in too much pain to enjoy it (or even remember it very well now), so watching your journey feels like getting a little taste of all the lovely bits I missed out on, and makes me excited for when I get the chance to do it again without all the trauma of the first time :')
aw hannah! I have been with my partner for 7 years now and I totally get where you're coming from about being super sad when they go away! Like you said, it doesn't come from a place of mistrust or anxiety, its just that they're your favourite person and your normal routine of going to bed together is gone for a while. But don't worry, you're definitely not alone and it also doesn't cancel out your independence or feminist ideals, you just love your partner and want to be with them. Lots of love from New Zealand Aotearoa :)
This video made me so happy! It's so nice to see you enjoying your pregnancy and your bump is so cute! I had my first baby in July 2021 and had really similar experiences to you - same blood type and baby was positive so I had to have the injections. Had some other complications and had to have more scans than most people. I'm also short with big boobs and I could relate to SO much of what you've gone through and felt. I went to the chiropractor regularly throughout my pregnancy and that helped a lot with the aches and pains. I hope you are able to enjoy the rest of your pregnancy! I did not enjoy the 3rd trimester as much as the 2nd but it was WAY better than the 1st and you are so much closer to meeting baby!
Lab tech here! Yes, issues happen with blood tests. Sometimes they are clotted and they can't be analyzed. :( Other times, unfortunately, there are admin errors. Underfilled tubes can be an issue, but whomever is taking your blood should have a chart to see which specific tubes or tests need those fill requirements. Hopefully you don't have any additional issues with future blood tests!
I'm in week 33. I don't know anyone else who is (or has recently been) pregnant. Being pregnant can be a pretty lonely thing (even with a loving partner and a great support net) so it's been so great to watch your videos. I'm a planner too so I fully relate to your love for the admin 😂
The lower back and hip pain comes from the weight but also the hormones that are supposed to make that whole area wider and ready to give birth. Which is one reason why my orthopedics doctor was one of the first doctors on my side when I said I don't want kids and want to get sterilized. Which was kind of funny but also very validating. Please be careful for some this can cause issues even after giving birth my moms hip is now kind of lower on one side than the other but she also had three kids and was a very petite lady. That extra weight alone wasn't great for her body.
Pregnancy definitely made me and my husband more lovey-dovey towards each other too 🥰 and yes the first time he felt the baby kick was a THING. 😂 I can still remember his face, excited and surprised, and him immediately messaging family and friends "we can feel the baby move now!" It's interesting how pregnancy is followed up slightly differently in different countries. I only had my whooping cough vaccine at 30 weeks, and they drew blood for the rhesus antibodies test at 32,5 weeks. Not sure when I'll get the injection to prevent the antibodies if I need it, I thought they do it right after the delivery here 🤔 Anyway, I really enjoy watching these vlogs and following your journey Hannah!❤️ Wishing you all the best! 😁
13:40 Yes! Bloodviles can be vaccuum / low pressure sealed, and when you hook them up, the blood gets sucked in until the pressure levels off. Under normal circumstances it would auto fill up to a certain level. Why it doesnt work... well... it doesnt have to be human error, it could be any number of things...
Ah, Hannah, I understand your deep sadness when Dan goes away. My husband works nights fairly regularly and I absolutely hate it, the loneliness of not having him there to talk to or just be next to, I completely get! It also makes looking after a 3 year old and 2 month old much harder as I'm basically single parenting whilst he sleeps/is at work.
"Is my favourite part of pregnancy the admin?" Most Hannah quote ever. So excited for this video whoooh
I was just about to comment on this

Hope this helps!
“Bottle labelled wrong” = someone got two tests mixed up and so blamed the labeller
“Bottle wasn’t filled up enough” = dropped the sample in the lab
haha, I work in a lab and this definitely sounds true. we also have the converse of “does this 3000 year old vampire belong in our under 25s study” when things do get labelled wrong!
Haha yes I work in a lab and have seen someone drop a vial then seen their email telling management that the vial was smashed in transport 😂
Or my favorite: "The sample was hemolyzed"
So just a little clear-up: the Rh+ type means there ARE certains antigens on blood cells (basically little molecules that give the body info about the cell). If you are Rh-, this antigen is NOT present on your cells and your immune system will attack any Rh+ cells with antibodies (so antiBODIES rcognize and attack antiGENS). So if the bloods of Rh- mother and 1st Rh+ baby gets mixed, the antibodies get created and are stil present/ready to be made in mother's body with following pregnancies and can harm following Rh+ babies.
Hope that helps!
thanks for explaining! I was told I'm Rh- and didn't really understand what it meant.
yes, great explanation!
Thank you so much! As someone who is Rh- and wanting children in the future, this was great to know!
Sounds like being pregnant is a full-time job! Thanks for taking us along 🤍
I let out a not human sound at the phrase "I'm trying to reframe it that I'm not alone because the baby is with me" so sweet
I hadn't heard anyone try to verbalize the feeling of attachment toward the father/partner during pregnancy, but I definitely feel similarly right now at 21 weeks! As soon as you started explaining I knew exactly the feeling you were talking about.
Your language around gendering (or lack of) your baby is so refreshing - finally someone saying "them" instead of "it" is such a novelty 💕
I absolutely adore how you refer to your baby just as "Baby" and use they/them pronouns. So lovely.
Pregnant at the same time as my favourite TH-camr, same blood type and found out I need the Anti-D injections… only difference is I’m having Twins! I wish you the best Hannah! Feels like having a friend going through this at the same time! Xx
Good luck! Hope all goes well with your pregnancy.
"we can't guarantee that your baby is not gonna be a weirdo" made me laugh so hard

Absolutely insane.
yep 100%!
i know what you mean about the deep sadness when dan goes away. whenever i'm away from home and i'm not around other people (especially when i'm trying to go to sleep) i'm like oh. i am alone. and then i cry so big mood on that one (but it makes me feel a bit better to know it's not just me)
also i have no idea if it's pregnancy related or not but your hair has been looking SO GOOD recently
pregnancy probably helps!!
Me too! any time my husband has been on a work trip I MELT DOWN.
Asos has Lindex underwear!
can confirm! dunno about the brand but i bought soft nursing bras somewhere in my second trimester and they fit fine after birth too!
We do have lindex here, you can order online and they have the best kids clothes. My boys live in their jazzy leggings.
Highly recommend the lindex nursing bras. I was advised by my midwife to wear nursing bras as soon as possible to support milk production etc. honestly, they’re so comfy and stretchy :)
Loved this video! It’s great to watch someone going through the same experience near the same time as yourself. ❤️
Bravissimo is great for maternity and nursing bras
I totally and completely relate to you when you said you get very upset when your partner is away. My husband had to be gone for 5 days for the first time since we moved in together and I cried the whole time and felt like I couldn't function without him! He's absolutely my rock and it definitely made me appreciate all that he does for me that much more now every single day!!!
Love the 'we're not finding out the baby's genitals'. Like yes, that is what it is, let's make asking for it as weird as it actually is.
Im currently 24 weeks pregnant too! Quickly did the math and thought, wow, you are already 22 if born in the year 2000… makes me feel super old 😂😂😂
@@MinaDracula Yup I'm 22 now! I don't know if being a twin made it more risky to be born that early or not though. Best of luck with your pregnancy!
ah, hello fellow millennium baby! Me and my partner are both 2000
@@icarusgotooclose Oh I didn't know that! Maybe I was more lucky than I thought, because both me and my twin are male and we turned out okay
This really is opening my eyes to how complicated having a baby can be. wow!!
Yep, and weirdly surgeons are not allowed to be Mrs. They have to go by Ms
I love blue, baby blue particulary, I would dress any baby in blue, no matter what genetalia a baby have 😄
Just to ease your mind - my mum is Rh- and both my siblings and I are Rh+ and everything went fine :)
We just had to stay in hospital few days to make sure we’re all good and now we’re all grown ups thinking about our own kids.
Your giggle after showing your bump is too cute!😊
Oh yes there are many D subgroups, the main 2 being weak D or D variant. The weak is treated as positive and the variant is treated as negative ☺️
antibody is the word you're looking for :)
antigen is whatever the antibody is made to fit, in that case the positive rhesusfactor
much more important, it's so cool seeing you so excited! may it all go as smoothly as possible!
When I was pregnant I was totally obsessed with my partner too, literally so attached to him.
I love these long and in depth videos over topics like this! Thank you for sharing your story!
@@rtd1791 in the UK, but I remember my mother telling me about the shot becoming avilable because of my aunt loseing a baby
But I think that’s also because my partner has been trying harder to be helpful and show his love and understanding to watch I’m going through but I truely believe they also feel more connected to us since now their offspring is in us 🤣
Your sadness with Dan leaving is the way I am when my husband goes away on trips. If I go I am ok but when he goes I just can’t handle it.
You're going to be such a great mom. Thanks for sharing your life with us!
oh my.. having a baby is SO difficult! So many things can happened and you have to learn A LOT. How come it's so normalized?! You're so strong!
I wish you, your husband and little baby the very best and look forward to follow the rest of your journey as well 💕🥰
I definitely felt more attached to my husband when I was pregnant…. But just wait until you see him as a father. Oh, the love 💕
What is it for? 🤔
I love how much you entertain yourself! It makes me happy!
Rewatching this and it's ridiculous but I'm so excited for pregnancy admin when I get pregnant 😂 I love an excuse for new stationery and organisation!
Currently 17 weeks and still having bouts of nausea and vomiting…can not WAIT for that part to be over! Love seeing your updates ✨
currently 22 weeks pregnant and loving following your journey alongside my own!
The war paint makeup application was awesome!
So interesting to watch as a midwife student :) I wish you all the best for the next trimester!
Pregnancy definitely made me and my husband more lovey-dovey towards each other too 🥰 and yes the first time he felt the baby kick was a THING. 😂 I can still remember his face, excited and surprised, and him immediately messaging family and friends "we can feel the baby move now!"
It's interesting how pregnancy is followed up slightly differently in different countries. I only had my whooping cough vaccine at 30 weeks, and they drew blood for the rhesus antibodies test at 32,5 weeks. Not sure when I'll get the injection to prevent the antibodies if I need it, I thought they do it right after the delivery here 🤔
Anyway, I really enjoy watching these vlogs and following your journey Hannah!❤️ Wishing you all the best! 😁
13:40 Yes! Bloodviles can be vaccuum / low pressure sealed, and when you hook them up, the blood gets sucked in until the pressure levels off. Under normal circumstances it would auto fill up to a certain level. Why it doesnt work... well... it doesnt have to be human error, it could be any number of things...
I'm 26 weeks and still very sick and dizzy! But seeing your 1st trimester being so similar to mine was very comforting
Anyone else pick up their own water to drink when Hannah mentioned being told off for not drinking enough? lol Thanks for the reminder, Hannah!
Soo cute 😊😊 amazing! We just startet our TTC journey- wish us luck! 💜
hannah is so goofy in this video! haha I was giggling along with her!
I am glad things are going well! As someone with UC I am so happy to see you doing great!
i've been waiting for this one! excited to watch!
