That video is great! Do we need an adapteur to use Ef-s lenses? Does-it also work with Ef-m or Rg lenses(with another adapter)? And, to get 120 fps, we have to go down to 2.8 k right? Last question, what about the bitrates the camera offers in those resolutions?
Dear Jonathan, thanks for presenting your footage. Very impressive, indeed! Where did you do thes shots? I've got mine 2 weeks ago, now the new PC is builded up, ready to handle the Material ;) How funny, I did my testshots exactly with the same lenses.
Thanks, glad you liked it. The two cameras are quite different and as always it entirely depends on what your needs as a filmmaker are, its not a case of one is better than the other, more that one may be more suitable for your specific needs than the other, but only you can determine that.
Hi! While shooting in low light conditions what dynamic range option do u use: Video or Film? When I shoot in Film during the evening my footage is extremely noisy. How come yours looks so clean?
Hello. As I understand it, the Crane 3S is not able to stabilize the Blackmagic 6k camera? Right ? I've been trying to solve this problem for six months now ...
I would buy this camera tomorrow, the problem is that I have no idea what ProRes, or External recording means. Basically even if I get this camera I wouldn't know how to get these beautiful results.
@@dxbmoto yep, all natural light. Just be aware that TH-cam does smooth out some of the noise that's present at higher iso values but nonetheless it's certainly impressive in low light.
There's more going on with this camera than a resolution bump. You're also working with a larger sensor/wider FOV, better DR, better highlight rolloff. Not to mention there are more uses for resolution than just viewing at that resolution. Otherwise, there would be little use for RED's 8K sensors or Arri's 6.5k sensor.
Noise is present at all ISO on all digital sensors it's just how the technology works. How much is acceptable at any particular ISO in any given situation is up to personal preference. This camera is obviously quite capable of producing relatively clean footage at high ISO.
All cinema cameras shoot RAW, and then have colour grades applied to the footage to bring out the information in post. It allows the editor to manipulate the footage in many ways 😊
I saw plenty of noise. But chroma noise was pretty low, seemed more luminance noise so it wasn't nearly as noticeable. I'm impressed. Are you watching on a 4k monitor? What I'm not impressed with is it seems everyone grades the output super warm. Foliage should be green not yellow. Does this camera not output blue? lol
What noise reduction was used if any? At least on iPhone even 25000 looks like it would be useable if noise reduction was applied - unless of course that’s with noise reduction already applied.
No noise reduction has been applied, those shots are straight from camera. TH-cam does smooth out the noise because of the compression and you nee to view on a large monitor really but it's still pretty impressive.
Jonathan J Scott Films ah nice. Do you live close by? I’m in Exeter so there quite often. If you ever need a second cam or licensed drone operator give me a shout. Running a company in Exeter

Appreciate the human eye approximation!
No worries, although it's subjective I thought people might find it interesting
@@JonathanJScottFilms the last footage was out of the world. I am sure there was no noise even at 25,600 ISO.
@@NarenMariappan yeah it is good, there is definitely noise there, TH-cam compression might smooth it out somewhat, buy it's still impressive.

awesome. thank you

getting the camera is one thing, but ACTUALLY getting good footage is a whole nother...
Really nice. Subbed. Which lenses are you shooting with Jonathan?
Thanks for posting this! Did you apply any noise reduction in post?
Nope, but TH-cam compression will flatten the noise down a bit.
Amazing. Thanks for the video! 😊
Thanks for the kind comment 👍
Jeez bro. Beautiful
LOVELY shots of the happy ponies (I think ponies). Nice warm and fuzzy feelings from this. Very very nice!
Thank you Tony
Can't believe that one pony stayed still for so long for that ungraded shot, what a bro
@@RorySinn I think he freezed that frame
very good BMPCC6k footage!
Thanks
Wow. Amazing. I'd love to see some nightime footage of the city. I believe this camera is amazing. Only for 2.5K$ I am mesmerized to be honest.
Proper test. Thank you

that's an ISO beast

i like when grading happens with animation

great! did you apply any noise reduction filter?
Nope, none at all
GREAT TEST
nice grading did you add any LUTS if you can share details of grading?
No Luts, just a quick manual grade using the lumetri panel in premiere.

Heyyy.. guess what.. GRADE APPLIED 😏😏
Yep 😆
Hey man, amazing amazing work, are these lut for sale or do you plan to sell them?
Thanks for the kind comments. Nothing special going on in the grade here, just a little bit of constrast tweaking and saturation added.
Beautiful stuff man. Subbed
Thanks Josh, appreciate the support. 👍
This is amazing

Good Footage bro, nice explained! thank you
No problems
Possible to give download link for the raw files of the low light part so I can test
Which place is it? What's your@?
Hahaha! Who are you kidding? I see the de-noiser applied as well as the low shutter stuff that you added cam movement to in post.
Errr ok sure if you say so

It maybe be 6k but on TH-cam , it renders the video resolution to 1080p
Pls provide a google.drive link for it
Jonathan, the footage showed no noise up to which ISO?
Noise is present at all ISO on all digital sensors it's just how the technology works. How much is acceptable at any particular ISO in any given situation is up to personal preference. This camera is obviously quite capable of producing relatively clean footage at high ISO.
For all of its features would you choose this camera or BMP4k for your line of work?
Neither, they are both great cameras but I wouldn't use either for work, as they don't suit me specifically
what crop factor on 6k?
Very Nice.
Mind blown... ok ok wait... Mind blown 2x
Whats ypur tint settings on the camera?
What sound did you use as background music?
It's a really expensive camera for an amateur but it has great image quality!
It is not for amateurs.

I was aiming for Canon C200, now Im confused.
For years, we've been shooting day for night. Now we can shoot night for day.
Can this cam record 4k raw?
Nope, 4K is pro Res, only 6k is raw as it's 1:1 sensor read out. Only the bmpcc 4k will do 4k raw
