If you would like to be amazed again, I would recommend one of her originals called "Million Miles". There are a couple of studio versions, but she also performed it live at her recent concert in Norway and let me tell you it is incredible. It is a very emotional song, and very meaningful to her. Written after the death of her Maternal grandfather. She lets out a belt near the end of the live show that reportedly tumbled buildings and overturned cars for blocks around. I think most of us in a sense already bought in and felt like we've already heard her voice when the piano started. Just a feel I guess, knowing the song, knowing her songs and covers, and then the piano starts and we instantly understand, yup that's bang on, makes too much sense, she's going to crush this one.
I laughed when you said "how can you play the piano around her" because I just saw an interview with Ivan Mendez, the young guitarist who played on several videos with her such as Stay. He admitted that he found it hard to concentrate on his own playing and stop being a fan during her performances.
Angelina is definitely blessed from above, but she has an unmatched work ethic and Angelina truly, truly loves singing and performing for her fans. Her recent concerts solidifies any doubts. When she explains her tears she says "Happy Tears".
That's my favorite word in the whole performance! That vibrato is so perfect. This is such an outstanding performance it almost seems "wrong" to pick out one element like this but, it just jumps out at me.
My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

From the leather jumpsuit , the red Fender Telecaster Guitar and Priscilla's hairstyle it took us back to Elvis's comeback tour. Talk about a team - Rob Christie one of the powers that be at Republic Records where AJ is signed and a Grammy winning pianist himself was on piano in the red jumpsuit that Elvis's band wore on the comeback tour. The video was executively produced by her Grandma Mery Zamani. I believe the young children were shown to show Angelina's growth through the years. The two younger children were her cousins Aurora and Athena ( her Uncle Mike's kids ) and the older one was her sister Juliette . As usual AJ did the arrangement herself. This is one very talented young lady !!

Great comments sir. The word I use more and more is that Angelina is intense (not in volume or pitch or even in terms of power but in some undefinable emotional connection). The two younger girls are Angelina's cousins and the older one is her sister. Her grandma Mery is the executive producer and Angelina..well, she don't play! She hits what she aims at. I think her approach better portrayed the angst, doubt, hopefulness, and fatigue of the story better than either Elvis or Mark James. Their versions were faster and more upbeat (maybe they were more constrained by the beat-driven approach prevalent in the times). But the story is not an upbeat one, a relationship that could make it but that probably won't due to distrust.
Mark James couldn't have known it in 1968, but he wrote this song for Angie. IMO it's the best version ever made, and I see it as very difficult for someone to even come close to her vocal and emotional perfection in the future.

Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Sauced Dad, thanks for the great reaction. No, for certain, you are not the only one who reacts to her the way you do. It is mystifying how she draws you into her world each time she sings. Often I feel sad, overwhelmed, optimistic, happy tears, and emotionally drained all within the same song she sings. No song emphasizes this than when she sings her original song “Million Mikes”. Having said this, actually almost any time she sings I feel the same way. You should also see her TicToc version of “Love is a Game” (Adele original).
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. Her phrasing in the last bridge is great. And she got Elvis’s ‘Oh Yea’ at the end of the song. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammys), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. And then she is so humble and appreciative of her audiences. And add to that she is a genius. A lot of her covers and her original compositions will be viewed as classic versions (What a difference a day makes at age 8, I put a spell on you at age 9, I'm still holding out for you at age 10 and I'm a fool to want you at age 7 and again at age 10, I think). Great reaction! No you are not alone. Angelina communicates the song on deeper level than anyone I've ever listened to, almost soul to soul. If you would like to be amazed again, I would recommend one of her originals called "Million Miles". There are a couple of studio versions, but she also performed it live at her recent concert in Norway and let me tell you it is incredible. It is a very emotional song, and very meaningful to her. Written after the death of her Maternal grandfather. She lets out a belt near the end of the live show that reportedly tumbled buildings and overturned cars for blocks around. One of the better fan recorded uploads is from Mattias Axelsson , you can find all the songs from the concert on his channel. You do not want to miss this one!

The video is shot in the same Antique Store that she did 'My Funny Valentine' on Valentine’s Day. I believe it is in LA near her home. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. I think most of us in a sense already bought in and felt like we've already heard her voice when the piano started. Just a feel I guess, knowing the song, knowing her songs and covers, and then the piano starts and we instantly understand, yup that's bang on, makes too much sense, she's going to crush this one.
I laughed when you said "how can you play the piano around her" because I just saw an interview with Ivan Mendez, the young guitarist who played on several videos with her such as Stay. He admitted that he found it hard to concentrate on his own playing and stop being a fan during her performances.
Angelina is definitely blessed from above, but she has an unmatched work ethic and Angelina truly, truly loves singing and performing for her fans. Her recent concerts solidifies any doubts. When she explains her tears she says "Happy Tears".

First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.

From the leather jumpsuit , the red Fender Telecaster Guitar and Priscilla's hairstyle it took us back to Elvis's comeback tour. Talk about a team - Rob Christie one of the powers that be at Republic Records where AJ is signed and a Grammy winning pianist himself was on piano in the red jumpsuit that Elvis's band wore on the comeback tour. The video was executively produced by her Grandma Mery Zamani. I believe the young children were shown to show Angelina's growth through the years. The two younger children were her cousins Aurora and Athena ( her Uncle Mike's kids ) and the older one was her sister Juliette . As usual AJ did the arrangement herself. This is one very talented young lady !!
i'm sitting here in tears i envy rob that he gets to play for AJ, i can't believe i can't be at their concerts in Norway and i envy everyone who gets to experience that and of course I wish you a wonderful experience for you participants. Great comments sir. The word I use more and more is that Angelina is intense (not in volume or pitch or even in terms of power but in some undefinable emotional connection). The two younger girls are Angelina's cousins and the older one is her sister. Her grandma Mery is the executive producer and Angelina..well, she don't play! She hits what she aims at. I think her approach better portrayed the angst, doubt, hopefulness, and fatigue of the story better than either Elvis or Mark James. Their versions were faster and more upbeat (maybe they were more constrained by the beat-driven approach prevalent in the times). But the story is not an upbeat one, a relationship that could make it but that probably won't due to distrust.
Mark James couldn't have known it in 1968, but he wrote this song for Angie. IMO it's the best version ever made, and I see it as very difficult for someone to even come close to her vocal and emotional perfection in the future.

Elvis Presley and his producer Felton Jarvis cleverly covered this *Mark James song from 1968 in 1969* , Elvis' last #1 hit in the US and #7 of his most successful songs. Felton Jarvis took the original arrangement completely and pushed the song with more speed and additional instruments (wind instruments, violin etc.) and a spectacular backing choir (in the studio version) and of course with Elvis Presley's voice. Pianist Rob Christie changed the musical arrangement and Angelina the vocal arrangement, but she didn't change the lyrics. Angelina changes the lyric structure, starting with the bridge and giving the song a different meaning. Once again many people don't hear and understand the song until when Angelina tells the story. 💯 *AJ* 💯👣
Sauced Dad, thanks for the great reaction. No, for certain, you are not the only one who reacts to her the way you do. It is mystifying how she draws you into her world each time she sings. Often I feel sad, overwhelmed, optimistic, happy tears, and emotionally drained all within the same song she sings. No song emphasizes this than when she sings her original song “Million Mikes”. Having said this, actually almost any time she sings I feel the same way. You should also see her TicToc version of “Love is a Game” (Adele original).

Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own.
When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched.

Angelina is an artist extraordinaire . It is what allows her to own the songs she sings. She is the creator of her pieces and at the same time she honours the original artist. And then she is so humble and appreciative of her audiences. And add to that she is a genius. A lot of her covers and her original compositions will be viewed as classic versions (What a difference a day makes at age 8, I put a spell on you at age 9, I'm still holding out for you at age 10 and I'm a fool to want you at age 7 and again at age 10, I think). This version of Elvis' Suspicious Minds I consider a classic already. Ever more astonishing is Angelina.

She has an air of humbleness and innocence about her, and just couldn't believe that so many people had travelled many thousands of kilometres just to see sand listen to her.
