Fantastic reaction and Angelina is well protected by her family. After she won NGT, they turned down offers from all kinds of Record Labels, including Disney! Her mom lets her per sue her dreams, but limits when she is not in school. In fact her mom has been caught in several interviews saying she wants Angelina to have much of a normal childhood as possible. When she signed with Republic Records, Mother and Uncle (Manager) insisted Angelina has last say on anything released and not to promote her except on You Tube until she is 18 and has finished school. You need to check out her versions of "My Funny Valentine", at age 10, then released this year at age 16. Then go to in her 1st time in studio at age 6, "I Who Have Nothing", you will see this child enjoying herself. She also said in an interview, "I have to sing, it's like breathing, I have to do it". Great reaction! From all we know of Angelina "She" is the driving force, and has been since at least the age of 5 when she told her mother she was ready to audition for NGT, (had to wait till she was 7 due to her mom requiring her to wait). Her family is incredibly supportive, if anything they have consistently put the brakes on and insisted she finish school and have as normal a childhood as possible. Her mother could write a book on how to raise a child prodigy in the music industry the right way. It was even part of the deal with Republic Records that they will not promote her till after she finishes school (that's why she is still somewhat of a hidden talent). She arranges the songs herself, she is supremely confident and has never been nervous on stage, only excited to be singing, once on stage she does not want to leave (she has said this herself in several interviews). She is super intelligent as well, and on top of that she has a wonderful heart! She literally has it all! From what I have read, she is mostly self taught, (she even blurted out in an interview once "I taught myself") she did have vocal coaching, but they (wisely) did not attempt to mess with her voice, because it is so unique. So now, if you really want to lose your mind, check out "I Put A Spell On You" the black and white vid when she was 9 years old. It is a shocker and in my opinion, it's how the song was meant to be sung! Can't wait to see it with you!
NGT had a age restriction of 7 years. however i saw a video of angelina and her mother in the living room and angelina told her mom that she was going to call simon...that 2 year wait must have been excruciating ...

Great information. Thanks. Glad to hear that she is the driving force and her parents are controlling outside influences.
What her parents did went right with Angelina. They decided, that she was mostly (only) doing concerts for charities and for families. She sang at 8 yo for the Nobel Peace Prize Recipients, because she had dreamt of it since age 3. PLEASE accept, that Angelina is a highly gifted (High IQ) child, she knew at age 3 what she wanted to do, and saw it through, she even sang for the Obamas. Me, I am following her since 2020 and was corrected many times.

I am 60 and have been waiting all my life for a singer like Angelina that can connect straight to your soul. After becoming a Angelina fan no other singer can now impress me after hearing Angelina. Don't worry about Angelina's childhood, Angelina is fully in charge of her destiny and surrounded by loving supportive family and management. A icon in the making🥰🥰

Saucey, I thank you for your concern for Angelina being robbed of her childhood. I could write a short book from what I have learned over the past two years which would alleviate your concerns. The most telling fact is, when Angelina signed with Republic Records in August of 2020, at age 14, her parents and her uncle/manager had two conditions (from what I understand). Firstly they requested Angelina remain in total control over what she wants to sing and secondly, that she be allowed as normal a childhood as possible. 20 months later, Angelina has released two original songs on Republic and neither has been promoted. I don't know of any other teen singer who got such a record deal and we angels (fans) are willing to allow Angelina's loving and wise family, all the time they feel they need before having Republic promote her. Once the genie is out of the bottle and Angelina is known worldwide, you can't put her back in the bottle.
I’ve listened to a lot of Angelina Jordan and read a lot and have never heard that she was pushed into this. In interviews she talks about begging her parents to let her go into competitions.
I found that I understood a lot about Angelinas’ amazing talent by going back to the beginning and watching her perform when she was 7 & 8&9
She was born with these singing talents and the lessons helped her perfect them. A few days ago, on tiktok, she sang a short version of Crazy, Patsy Cline cover, at 16, it was so beautiful, I didn’t think she could get any better, but I was wrong.
Great second reaction with her astonishing version of the old song of EJ, is another song. We don't have to worry about her childhood and adolescence, she is always very protected and supported in her choices. Her family has decided to move from Norway to the US precisely to help Angelina in her choice, strongly desired, since she was a child, to become a star of the song, she couldn't have better tutors. I believe that this fantastic girl has more than just a musical talent, she also has a special musical sensitivity and a capacity for vocal evaluation, which make the results she always gets, even more surreal regardless of her age. I feel like comparing it to a starred chef, for her particular ability to be able to change the very flavor of the songs that she reinterprets, modifies the ingredients, without distorting the song, and creates a completely new flavor to each song, she is simply extraordinary. I can't compare Angelina to any other singer, I just know that the emotion that shakes me every time I listen to one of her songs is different from what I feel when I listen to other singer interpret it. She has a totally unique way of engaging your soul and making her shiver, even after hearing her hundreds of times you can't resist her voice. 💛 🧡 ❤️

@@branscombeR Angelina makes many other singers sound like they are painting a picture with one paint brush and one pigment of paint. She has all the paint brushes, and brush strokes, and colors from the preceding masters that she has ever heard and uses them instantly without hesitation. Like a painter who has jar full of brushes and a palette full of paints and has studied all the works of the masters who preceded her; I believe that instead of singing notes, Angelina paints a masterful tapestry of emotions with her voice.
Because she is both the musician and the instrument, I have come to describe her as Mozart and Monet building a Stradivarius.

I cannot wait to see your reaction to 9 year old Angelina singing I Put a Spell On You!!! She makes a change in the arrangement and passes it to the band leader. She has corrected full orchestras during a recording. Her sense of music has been developing since at least age 6.

I love her interpretations of modern music but she clearly has a Jazz and Blues influence so these songs are her forte. Is crazy a 16 year old taught me to appreciate Jazz and Blues at 52.
Angelinas parents are the opposite of pushy. When she was 5 she was begging them to take her to Norways got Talent (NGT), but they thought she was too young. Same thing at 6.. Then at 7 they allowed her to go, and she went on to win the show.. She LOVES what she's doing and have said so many times in interviews. Her mother have been adamant she have as normal childhood as possible (her school grades have been excellent all the way) and she have turned down over 90% of engagement request for Angelina to give her time to be a child :-)
When Angelina was 6yo she was asked what she wanted to be in life, she said a singing superstar. She hasn't deviated from that. Her parents have protected her, but encouraged her musical interest. She wrote the song "Shield" when she was 11yo, thanking her family for protecting her. They still do. Her uncle is her manager.
Yes, she arranges her own vocals. Angelina confirmed this herself last week on her Instagram... "ask me a question" (orange 🍊 hoodie) that she arranged Bohemian Rhapsody and most of the things she sings. Her jazz roots, her tone, her determination and work effort makes her a generational singer.

@@branscombeR Not sure if you're trying to discount Angelina's talents or just stating the obvious. I did not say all of the songs she sings are reinvented. Sometimes she sticks very close to the original while other times she reinvents the song, such as Bohemian Rhapsody or Billie Jean. Even if she is close to the original, there are obvious differences. She's not an impersonator or mimic. Adele's 'Easy on Me' is an excellent example of Angelina performing a song with her own nuances (a subtle difference in or shade of meaning, expression, or sound).
Angelina's version of 'Born to Die' follows Lana Del Rey's and yet, they are very different. Angelina has a different tone and conveys much more emotion. Check it out. I thinks she's age 12.

Yeah, she’s the best. I’m in my seventies and I’ve never heard anyone who combines such an incredible voice with such an incredible delivery. Her musicality is spontaneous and off the charts. And Angelina is easily the best interpreter of lyrics I’ve ever heard. You’re shocked because you’ve truly discovered a once in a lifetime talent.
But even better-you haven’t come close to hearing what Angelina can do. You’ve listened to two incredible performances, but they were both jazzy-bluesy. Angelina covers five or six totally different genres as effortlessly and authentically as you just heard. It’s hard to believe, but just start listening. She is now, at 16, a phenomenal singer, but I’m one of her long-term fans who is completely captivated by her younger performances. Yes, watch her at seven on NGT-all four songs will have you shaking your head even more. For me, one of her most incredible performances is before a huge outdoor audience at 8 years old singing What a Difference a Day Makes. It’s not believable. And I’m sure you think you’re ready for I Put a Spell on You, at 9 years old. But you’re not. No one is ready for that.
Angelina has been her own driving force in her career. Her father has remained out of the spotlight, Angelina's Grandmother is her soulmate and mentor, her Mother Sara is loving, caring and protective, her Uncle Michael is her manager and Juliette is her younger sister. Angelina has stated on more than one occasion that singing is like breathing to her and she loves singing and performing. Her family has actually protected Angelina and tried to let her have a regular childhood, under the circumstances. Angelina was the one that convinced her mother to let her enter Norway's Got Talent.
Super and honest reaction ! I really enjoyed your comments ! I have followed Angelina's journey of joy and happiness for many years now and she is the real deal ! A fearless, sincere, loving and compassionate young woman who is so passionate about her singing ! You don't have to worry about her upbringing because she is well grounded by her family and even though she is signed with Republic Records they will allow her to control her musical career ! She is still in school and I feel will really be allowed to break out totally after she finishes school! If you really want to be blown away I would suggest her rendition of Screaming Jay Hawkins sing " I Put a Spell on You " black and white studio edition when she was just 9 years old ! This is the one that sent me on the Angelina journey many years ago ! It is absolutely mind-blowing ! This is a vocal masterpiece ! So so unbelievable ! Angelina's parents realized her gift at an early age, there is a recording of her at 18 months, and while they encouraged her, never exploited her. She had regular schooling with other children, and they did what they could by allowing her to record in studios, have recording equipment at home, and perform at charitable events. She wrote a book that was actually published at, I believe, age six.
The story of the bare feet is that she was traveling with her parents at age 6, and saw a little girl her age with no shoes. She gave the child her shoes and the child told her she would pray for her every day. She vowed at that time to always perform in bare feet until every child in the world has shoes.
Unlike other performers, she relies only on her singing. No dancing around. She simply pours her heart and soul into a song.
She is a gem.
She is a musical prodigy.
Angelina has been singing since 1 and a half, she got hooked to the music her grandmother listened too. When she was 6 she was walking round a city and saw a child begging with no shoes on, Angelina took off her own shoes and gave them to the little girl. That's why she performs on stage barefoot, she said on a chat show at 7 that no child should have to be barefoot. Talk about old soul in a young body, she is a very humble young lady. SauceyDad… first of all, great reaction. Second of all, yes, her parents are in her hip pocket. They have held her back a bit, but only for her protection. They have allowed her to hone her craft, while limiting her exposure. She (and her parents) wanted her to finish school before being too distracted and absorbed by the industry. That said, she was able to do select performances while out of school during summer breaks, etc. You will see over time that the drive is all hers. She also does all her own arrangements. She is truly a musical prodigy as well as an incredible human being.
When you watch her Norways Got Talent with the interviews you are going to understand this is the life she chose. She states it over and over again how much she loves to sing and when she grows up she wants to be a Superstar. Warning Every song will get you
angelina came out of a piano class @ 5-6 years old and pulled down her sweater she was wearing to expose her back which was covered in chicken pox. she smiled her toothless grin said " nothing can stop my passion for music " and then broke into acapella singing a song. her mother said angelina chooses all her songs all the arrangements that her family is there to love support and protect her in following her dreams. angelina mom said no vocal coach that her voice was so unique they didn't want anybody messing with it. she studied music theory and plays 5-7 instruments.started at 18 months has been singing for 15 years was ready for world stage at 5....

I don't think that story is true... Angelina was doing a cover of the Sara Bareilles arrangement of the song ...Sir Elton complimented Sara on her cover of his song, .... We do know though that Queen complimented Angelina on her cover of Bohemian Rhapsody
@@1after909 Angelina's genius also lies in knowing how to choose the version of the same song that best suits her chords or her art. If she doesn't find anything she likes then she invents it, modifying the song, but always respecting the author. She never does more than what serves her artistic goal of hers. A quality that only great artists have.

"Singing is as important to me as breathing" - Angelina (age 8) You said you were curious if she was pressured into this. If you read some of the background the fans left in the comments of your last Angelina video, it might be more obvious that it is all her that has driven her singing career. But really, you don't even need the background to know that music is just in her soul. Not only did her parents not force this on her, but I'm not sure that anyone could have stopped her. Angelina's family has handled her unprecedented talent in such a graceful way over the last 10 years.
You said you had trouble weeding through the reactions to find the videos... I recommend going straight to her cover channel and throwing a dart. It's all gold. But first do "I put a spell on you" ;)
As far as we fans know, she has always done her own arrangements of her covers and there are several videos of rehearsals where she is instructing the band members, even at age 8. She has collaborated on a couple of her original songs. Angelina's mother has been in a few interviews. Look on Angie's grandmother's channel - look for Mosarz. Angelina has not had singing lessons but did attend an after-school music school for a number of years. She plays the piano, guitar and, I am told, the violin and flute. When she looked for professional voice instruction in Norway, there were no takers! She was already far beyond what they could teach her and they worried that they would spoil her natural abilities. This was one reason her family decided to move to Los Angeles when she was 12. Angelina admits that she taught herself to sing by listening to all the greats while growing up. She has only been in two competitions: Norway's Got Talent, auditioning when she was 7 and winning it at age 8, and America's Got Talent - The Champions, which you are reviewing (there is one more performance).
Her parents have never pushed Angie to perform - it's all Angelina.

The answer for all your questions is very simple. She is a genius. One per several generations level genius.
She wants to sing and bring love to the world through her voice! That is a quote from her
Angelina wanted to sing on "The Simon Show" since she was ~three. Age requirements kept her out until age 7. She said in a Norway's Got Talent interview she wants to be a superstar. She has been committed to that without any pushing from her parents (they have continually applied the brakes if anything - in order to maintain her childhood). Together they have turned down many offers, record deals, etc over the years. Angelina is the only musician in her family although her grandma is a famous artist. Angelina has immense talent it is true but has applied herself diligently to hear and (and cover) many music classics over the years and spend hours singing, learning, practicing, etc. Musically she makes the decisions of what she will sing (sometimes her mom causes her to rewrite some lyrics). That will change somewhat as her record company Republic begins to bring projects to her but she seems to have a great deal of creative control so far. She is an intelligent young lady and seems to be (with her family) negotiating quite well the challenges and opportunities before her. While is seems effortless and natural, this view ignores the ability she has to put a spontaneity into what she does (whether it is really so or not doesn't really matter), she convinces us nevertheless!
And yes, she can do things artistically that others don't even think of. Great reaction, keep them coming!
She not only won Norway's Got Talent at 7 singing, but singing Jazz. It is arguably the most complicated genre to sing. Time for her at 9 years old to Put a Spell on You. Good first reaction. BTW, she controls her music and her recording sessions. She is referred to as The Boss as she arranges all her own music.
You are spot on with the 'its natural' and that the music just comes out of her like its not planned or rehersed. One producer said he had worked with 3 singers that could nail a recording in just one take, and that was Beyonce, and I think he said Sam Smith, and Angelina. Musicians that have played with her have the same experience. She thinks of a song and they are done recording in one or two takes. Also, her family has said no to suitcases with money from record labels since she won Norway got talent. I read somewhere they also said no thanks to Disney at some point. They have always been very very protective of her and made sure she has a normal and healthy youth. Her drive and passion is 100% her 💖

Her little giggle at the end of this one says it all. She does one more AGT performance, Someone Like You, that you might really enjoy because of the way it was set up. While I love so many of hers, the version of I’m Still Holding Out For You, which she sang at 10 and wasn’t intended to be released, is my favorite. Simply fabulous.

I think all of your worries may be put to rest. Angelina stated allready at 7/8 years old that; - "singing is like breathing to me". From that I get at least two things, - singing comes easy and naturally to her, and - singing is like a necessity to her.
I think your next reaction -s need to be her NGT performances. You`ll get great coments from the judges about Angelina, and on your worries. You`ll also get great insight in what drives Angelina`s musical escapades.
As you know, she did get the "OK" from her mother at 7 yo, to sign up for an audition to the "Norwegian Talents" show in 2013. (She appearently baged mam for a year or two before that, but got the answer she was too young.
Just to try to avoyd some possible annoying frustrations for you; - Angelina WAS 7 years as she auditioned and performed a cover of Billie Holidays version of "Gloomy Sunday". She DID though, turn 8 years on january 10th in 2014, and finnished the competition during winter and springtime that year. All four performances will blow your mind, as she did to me, as I got to follow her live on TV here in Norway.

Angelina’s manager from the beginning is her uncle Michael Astar. From article of Music Norway interview we learn that Michael was raised in Japan and music was always his passion. After his family moved to Norway, Michael became a hip-hop DJ. As a 16-year old he was a DJ at 21+ night clubs in Oslo, Norway, getting the gigs because he looked older and no one asked his age before being hired.
After getting tired of being a DJ, Michael started a music management company in 2013, and 3 months later, with no clients yet, Angelina signed-up to try out for Norway’s Got Talent. Angelina’s first audition when 7-years old was a cover of Billie Holiday’s song “Gloomy Sunday” that went viral when it got uploaded to TH-cam. Then Angelina won Norway’s Got Talent, had other viral TH-cams, performed on Norway, US and other TV shows and her career started to take off. Eventually she had over 1 billion views of her performances on TH-cam and Facebook before Angelina’s appearances on the American’s Got Talent - The Champions show. Her performances there further accelerated her career.
At this point, Angelina asked her uncle Michael if it was possible for her to move to the US to pursue her music dreams. Michael says this was a tough call, and he asked himself questions like; how on earth are you going to pull this off? What about a VISA? What about finances? Are you willing to sell everything you have and own, and also get a loan to risk everything? Michael related that “These were questions I had to ask myself, several times a day. Then, I remembered, what did my mom do when she went to Japan? She didn’t even talk Japanese or knew anyone. She did it because she risked everything for a better future.”
So, Michael flew alone to Los Angeles, studied and learned anything he could learn from the people he got to know during his time in the Industry. After gathering a bunch of people, he came back to Norway and started the process. He indicated that “A few months later, I told her, PACK YOUR BAGS! We are going next week to pursue your dream! All in baby. Her smile made it all worth the hassle.”
“We stayed patient because the way this industry works is bizarre and you have to dodge bullets right and left to get anywhere. But would I do it again? Of course! Life without challenge is boring," Michael says.
For Michael, a lot of his time involves talking with industry people, to see what’s happening out there. Having recently become a father and with COVID-19, time has become even busier and more crazy than usual. “There is a lot of stuff happening with Angelina, and it requires daily briefings with a lot of people.”
America’s Got Talent had always been interested in bringing Angelina to the show, but with their normal contract, artists are being locked into a label, management, and other things for many years. Michael says that it did not matter if you get exposure or not, it was out of the question to give away that many rights.
This kind of patience eventually paid off. Michael said that “Some time passed and they again contacted me, asking if she wanted to sing on their show. I convinced them to give me a contract where Angelina is free from any deal if she performs, she is great for their TV show and Angelina will get the exposure she needs to breakthrough, because I knew, the talent is one of the kind like no other, I just needed her to be seen and was on a daily hunt for how to get the right spot for her in the USA.”
After, Angelina’s success on America’s Got Talent, she eventually signed with Republic Records in August 2020 where Angelina was told she was Republic’s highest priority new artist. Michael says the commitment with the right interest in mind has been one of the most important things when choosing a team and partners to be part of Angelina’s team. “You also need to choose someone with the right chemistry. These are the people you have to deal with on a daily basis, you have to have a good feeling and chemistry with the team you choose.”
Although no specifics yet, Michael says that the plans for Angelina include going global.
Advice from Michael: “Go with your instinct, it never fails, crazy how nature does that. Always be humble, you get way further being a nice person, people tend to be nice back. Always read the contract. Find a good lawyer (It’s super hard to find the good one, but with dedication, you can). Don’t rely on people, you want something done? Do it yourself. If you are good at something, never do it for free (Quote from the Joker).”
She LIVES to sing and perform. Very humble and very caring and true to her word,, best in the world !

Angelina has chosen this route for her life entirely by her own free will. She said, when auditioning for NGT, that it is her dream to become a superstar and to sing for the entire world.
She won the contest of course, deservedly so, and had millions of youtube views long before to contest was over.
If she herself and her family didn't hold back during these years, she probably would be alot more known by now.
Republic Records respected the wish to keeping Angelinas life as normal and low key as possible, for as long as possible, and she could finish school, was one of the reasons why she decided to sing whit Republic. Not for lack of alternative offers.

We can tell you everything, what's she's all about, what songs she sings, etc., but there is no question to me that you need to see and hear everything to literally feel all the things which are going to happen to you.

Angelina Jordan is a music prodigy she started singing at age of 1.5 years and more than that she started with Billy Holiday Jazz. Angelina sings in 3 languages, designs her own clothes, and has written a very popular book called "Mellom to hjerter" (Between Two Hearts)"Norway's youngest published author" a story about why she wears no shoes during her performances, and like her name she truly is an angel with a heart of gold. From the age of 6, it's all her & her family protected her better then anyone could have. School first and no inappropriate songs but that's not a problem because she loves Jazz. She is the driving force and is the youngest person in Norway to be published, her book at 9 tells the story of her not wearing shoes when performing. English is her 3rd. language Norwegian, Iranian, Japanese & English. Her Grandmother was a prodigy artist. You can't stop her! At 56 I have never been completely blown away like this and not just one you will never forget and almost don't believe, many! There is no one like this, she's so good you wonder if she's here for a reason? That good! or maybe they all sound this good on her planet because this has no name!

However, what you need to put to bed is the thought that she is being pushed into or prevented from singing. She has a great family support system that works hard to do the right thing. Republic Records has bought into this tight family philosophy, and they seem to be working as a team. She's 16 now, and I suspect that she will be doing more and more on her own and, of course, this is a normal thing. We should remember that everyone has the right to make their own mistakes and Angelina is no exception. There may be a day when she really surprises many of her fans by the choices that she makes. I say, "Good for her". She is from good stock and she seems to be rather pragmatic and low-key in her approach but honestly, if she quit singing right now, I still have 160+ songs to cherish.
Her dreams are becoming a star, she loves to sing and started singing when she was 1,5 years old. She says this herself on a tv show and there is a videoclip of her singing at home when she was very young.
The reason they still take it fairly slowly is that she is only 16 years old - This in agreement with Republic Record, the family, and Angelina herself. She is now working on her record. Angelina has already sung in many countries, and all important people in the music industry know who she is.
They only need to press the button when the time is right for the next step. No point in "burning out" a 16 year old jewel of a singer and I think many people forget how young she really is since she is so mature for her age!

There were no pressure from her family. Angelina was born to sing and breaths music. She wanted to sing for Simon from 3 yo. She wanted to take part in NGT but was to young. Watch her 4 performances on NGT when she was 7 and won when she was 8. Watch her performed in the studio, cover " I who have nothing "when she was 6 and how excited she was. Her second performance on NGT was " I'm a fool to want you" ACAPELLA.

They turned down hundreds of offers, even Disney, before they finally signed with Republic Records shortly after this show. Her parents want her to have as normal a childhood as possible. She has done interviews for Little Big Shots and The View shortly after she won Norway's Got Talent, as well as amazing performances for each.

Angelina is well protected by her family which is why she is still at school and just putting out videos but holding back from getting on the world stage. Once you see all that is available on her you will realise she is not being pushed in anyway.
I have been a fan of Angelina since she was 7 years old; have heard everyone of her songs (160+ on TH-cam) over 100 times. Only one person has ever pushed her, and that person has pushed her unbelievably hard! That person is Angelina herself!!! Her family has fought to hold her back, to keep her childhood as normal as possible, and to keep the sharks away from her! Having a normal childhood has been the most important thing in every choice they have made. They only agreed to finely let her sign with Republic Records after RR agreed to give her virtually total control over her song choices, and how she sings them, and agreed to not promote her till she finished school.
She has plenty of interviews. she says all she wants is to be a superstar singing for the world. all by herself with family support. singing since she was 3. first studio recording at 6 yrs of age.

As a dad too, i totally understand your concerns. Long story short, we can give her family the utmost kudos. Angelina was the driver of her successes and her family kept her grounded. They turned down numerous big dollar contracts and were very selective instead because they wanted to maintain control so she could have as normal schooling and childhood as possible. They turned down suitors for 10 years before signing her first record deal, and again, only when they/she could maintain artistic and schedule control. They are doing things totally right.. what best for her.. we know where she gets some of her amazingness (not as a singer, but as a human being) from...
Don't worry about Angelina ever being forced to do anything. She has said many times, that singing is like breathing for her, and all she has ever wanted to do is sing for the world... Have a look at her Instagram and TikTok .... she will sing every chance she gets....🙂👍

This young lady is a vocal chameleon. Every time she brings tears in my eyes cause it is so beautiful. Angelina Jordan ASTAR (the name says it all), this young norwegian lady is imo the best singer on the planet! I am 69 y old and have never heard a singer like her in my whole life.
The story from the interviews is that she watched one of Simon Cowells Talent shows at age 3. She decided she wanted to sing for Simon (and probably began training for that goal). Over the years people often suggested she should try a talent show but she brushed that off, saying she's not good enough yet. At 5 she began begging her mum to enlist her, but she wasnt old enough to be accepted. I got the impression, her mum took all that not too seriously, assuming what she was seeing was just the result of the rose-tinted glasses of a mum.
Her autition at age 7 on Norways got Talent pushed them into a media storm, triggering all the big labels quitely flying with their private jets to Norway. Her uncle and manager later said they offered "insane amounts of money" but what they had in mind got much too far. The familiy declined the record deals and allowed only a handful of performances in the school holidays.
So far they seem to have navigated that pretty well. With herself often implying she's very thankful for that kind of protection. At I think 12 they moved to LA to start pursuing her dream for real. On AGTC she got the needed exposure for the US market and one year later was signed by Republic Records.
Your children are very fortunate to have such a caring "sauceydad". Your concern for Angelina and I'm sure any other child is warranted and shows your true compassion toward their well being. Rest assured that Angelina's family is extremely protective of her and in a couple of interviews when Angelina was 9 or 10 she stated that education and having as normal a childhood as possible is her main concern. Sara, Angelina's mother is seen shedding tears at Angelina's audition at 7 years old on Norway's Got Talent and was told that those wear tears of joy and she responded with "No, I know now that Angelina belongs to the world". Her family have been immensely supportive and protective of her at the same time, which is why her incredible talent is still little known in the wider world. You have been told in comments before this one how protective her family is, but what wasn't mentioned is that, even from a very young age, Angelina has had the maturity to understand that the decisions they have made on her behalf were the right ones. I would go even further and suggest that Angelina took part in any discussions about her career.
NGT and AGT are the only competitions she has been involved with. Most of her (TH-cam) performances are at music festivals and charity events.

Angelina was born in Oslo, Norway. She has lived for extended periods both in Oslo and in Los Angeles where Angelina now lives since 2020. She also lived for a time in the Middle East where she met the young girl who inspired her to perform barefoot after Angelina gave the girl her shoes and the girl said she would pray for Angelina. Angelina's mother is Norwegian Sara Astar, daughter of Iranian artist and poet Mery Zamani and a Japanese father. Her father is Gerry Christian Slattman, a petroleum engineer from Sweden.
Angelina attended the Oslo Waldorf School. It is an integrated primary, middle and high school with around 550 pupils. The school is considered one of the most prestigious schools in Norway. The arts play a major role in the Waldorf's curriculum and the activities surrounding the school. The Oslo Waldorf School includes a professionally equipped theater hall. Due to its long waiting lists, pupils are often enrolled shortly after birth to attend the school.
Angelina participated in the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program, where she received vocal training and piano lessons. In addition to singing and playing the piano, she plays violin, guitar and flute, and also paints. Unlike the US, the Norwegian system of extracurricular schools of music and performing arts (SMPA) is mandated by law. These schools are designed to reach all children and youth aged 6 to 15 in Norway. The law governing it states that each municipality, "alone or in collaboration with other municipalities, shall provide courses in music and other cultural activities for children and young people, organized in association with the school system and local cultural life" (see Norwegian Education Act 1998, § 13-6).
It is unclear, but the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program may be associated with The Norwegian Academy of Music which is also located in the west end of Oslo where the Oslo Waldorf School is located. It is the largest music academy in Norway and is considered to have the best music education. Throughout the years the Academy has educated many of Norway's most renowned musicians. It educates musicians within music genres of folk, church, classical and, quite notably, a string of successful performers within the jazz realm. Given Angelina's love of jazz, it makes perfect sense that she would have wanted to attend an after-school program at such a prestigious and world renown place as the Norwegian Academy of Music. Unfortunately, it is not totally clear whether the Academy also ran/is the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program that Angelina attended.

Thanks for your reaction. Yes it comes naturally to her and it is hard to learn. Remember she is at prodigy and one of the qualities of it, is that they are very focused and hard working with their skills. As I said in your Bohemian Rapsody reaction, her families biggest struggle was to hold her back. Seing AGT at 3 years old she said she would sing in the "simon show" as she called it. She want to enter NGT at 5, but the lower limit was 7 year, so she had to wait. In an interview as 9 year old, she said "singing is like breathing for me....I love to sing". Later she had said that singing is her way to express her emotion. She had also said "I love to be on a stage...and I don't want to leave it when I'm finish singing". To me there is no doubt that it is her own will.
I'm looking forward to your journey and analysis of A.J's voice over the years and she's known to have a thousand voices as it was maturing lol. She was signed to Republic Records at 14 and her 1st Original release was "Million Miles" which she wrote at 14 as a tribute to her grandpa who had just passed away. Quick background for you, A.J is a musical prodigy who started singing at 1 and 1/2 years old and by 3 she was mimicking all the Jazz greats from TH-cam Nina, Etta, Ella, Frank and even if you can believe it Screaming Jay Hawkins famous hit "i Put A Spell on You".
I definitely recommend the last one where at age 9, she gives the truest tribute to Hawkins by keeping the crazy edginess in the song that the creator had in the original, and not turning it into some sort of sexy lounge act like so many who do cover it. Play the black and white studio recording, and pay attention at the beginning when she is making notes and changes to the musical arrangements. she writes her lyrics and delivery, then hands the sheet music to the band director and he chuckles when he reads what she wants to do. Its rumored the band members were calling her Boss by the end of this session.
This is her dream and her parents refused to just toss her into the biz. Republic Records had to promise not to promote her heavily and let her grow at a steady pace so that she can finish school and still enjoy her childhood to a point. Thats the only reason they agreed to signing with R.R. They try to keep her fanbase stoked with 1 or 2 concerts a year and 1 or 2 singles a year with the odd charity performances here and there because A.J is very philanthropic and never turns away from needy causes. This all helps keep her in the limelight until she gets a little older and fully committed to just music.
Dude, I can assure you that every decision she makes is made voluntarily. She has a family and supportive fans that she gained from the age of 7 in her performances in Norway Good talent and it is clear to everyone that if she wanted more she would have been there. A record company definitely says it does things at its own pace this is also the reason it has signed on to Republic recordings so that it will remain independent in its decisions and not just chase after the big money. She has been singing since the age of a year and a half and she grew up like any normal child in school and with friends and in between she has done so many songs of different kinds that every time you hear her think it is a different voice he sings. She has several interviews in which she explains what happens to her when she sings big she goes through an out-of-body experience and if you ask me she is a soul reincarnation of Billy Holiday 🗣🎙👑🎷
I don't think you need to worry about Angelina being forced into her career. She herself is the driving force and always has been, while her parents and manager actually keep stepping on the brakes when stepping on the brakes is indicated. She really wanted to sing for Norway's Got Talent when she was 5 years old, but she had to wait until she reached the minimum age of 7. When she won the competition, she and her parents decided that her schooling should take priority over any concerts and her musical career. Her uncle Michael, who manages her, was already working as a music manager in the industry before Angelina became famous. Her family is very eager to protect Angelina, but also supports her unconditionally, for example, moving almost the entire family from Oslo to Los Angeles. They turned down all record contracts, including Simon Cowell and Disney, for example, until they found a company that agreed with their terms, Republic Records. It is expected that Angelina will finish her schooling this summer and after that her record label will really push her career, including CD release, media hype and concerts.

Yes Angelina was born to sing and NO she was not forced into it !! She has been the driving force of her career in music since the beginning !! Angelina - also known as The Barefoot Princess , The Queen of Jazz and The Angel with 1,000 voices first started singing at 1 1/2 years of age . She was not and is not pushed. She actually pushed her parents to let her record and enter contests. In fact her family has tried to protect her by holding her back. I suggest you watch her 1st recording at the age of 6, “I Who Have Nothing.” Watch her excitement and enthusiasm in that session and it is quite obvious that she does this because she loved it!
The struggle is real, the resistance is natural, but my friend it is refreshing because she is the real deal. She is Music. That is all she has ever wanted and her parents want her to first and foremost have that childhood you speak of. When you realize the gravity of what is Angelina you will feel what your heart has been telling you from the first line.

Just subscribed. Have followed her for a year and half. Have seen interviews with her, as young as 8, had to read subtitles and older in English where she is alone with the interviewer and she has always been well spoken and without her parents on stage in the interview. Her grandmother is an artist and huge influence. So many out there feel very protective of her from appropriateness of songs to prematurely signing record contracts. My greatest wish for her is she can sing for herself (and enjoyment) and hope is she will share with the world
Angelina’s grandmother is a noted artist and poet, and child prodigy herself, so this was not unknown in her family, and yes, Angelina herself has always been the driving force, she told the other girl that she gave her shoes to that her dream was to be a superstar, that was when she was 6, her mother however would not let her audition until she demonstrated she was ready, and she worked hard to get to the point that her mother could no longer deny her an opportunity to audition. However, after she won, her mother and extended family clamped down on access to Angelina to preserve her childhood, but that became increasingly difficult as the music industry became more aware of her, especially when you have people like Quincy Jones requesting her to sing a song he arranged for Frank Sinatra at his 85th birthday celebration, and he and Angelina became fast friends, but they still were able to keep things in check and part of her signing with Republic Records includes her being able to have a normal child, what’s left of it. So there is no concern about her upbringing and her childhood, it has been managed very well, and everyone who interacts with Angelina knows from the beginning that there are guardrails.
