The painting you have as a sample is beautiful! Your idea of several brushes is very helpful. I actually tried it at some point, but I was not sure it was "the right way." I am very glad I've found your channel. Thank you for these tutorials!
This is great. Thanks for the video and I love your work in general. I've been painting watercolor casually off and on for a few years now and I've heard this again and again, but I feel like it's actually starting to make sense now, hah.
This is very useful, as you explain the why and how of the painting process. I could have done with seeing this when I started about 3 years ago. Looks like I'll have to reboot a bit. Subscribed! Happy New Year to you.
The middle value, awful stage, I’ve just realised is where I fail. The middle value can have darks as well, so the values within the middle value also differs. It helps very much if we can see the reference photo all through the demo. This gives a better idea of exactly where the middle values are.

I have really been struggling with this idea of "connecting shapes," and your explanation was about the clearest I've seen. Thanks.
I'm really glad to hear that, Nancy! Best of luck to you.
Thank you Matthew. That makes so much sense. Now comes the hard bit - putting it into practice!
You got it, Mia!
Matt, I think your explanations really make perfect and clearly logic sense for tying it all together ❤ great work
Maravilloso, gracias!😍😍😍😍Subscribed!

You’re welcome, Dan. Glad you liked it! It takes time to learn to paint that way for sure. I’m glad it’s clicking for you.
SOOOOOOOO VALUE YOUR LESSON, THANK YOU.
Glad to hear that!
Your videos are amazingly helpful, thank you!
Thank you!
Great topic, Matt. Made me rethink my process as I tend to not think about “connection”. Thanks
Glad you liked it John. I hope it is helpful for you!

My paintings look overworked from the word start. Thanks for explaining the steps so clearly. :))

What size is your sign painters brush
God… I wish we could have seen what is happening between 5:30 and 5:33. This part is beautifully done.
Now you can just use the prompt "water color" in midjourney and it does this in 30 seconds.
Why are your paints always wet globs in your palette? Do you squeeze out new paint every time you do a demo? Why not work from dry paint?
I don't always add new paint but I do spray the paints before I start so they are easier to use.
