HOW TO FIX FLASHING D HONDA FIT
In this video, I walk you through how to fix fault code P0848 which causes a Check Engine Light to appear. You will notice that your car's D on the gear selector will be flashing or blinking. The symptom will be that the car will feel to be in a higher RPM even at highway speeds. If this is the case, make sure your transmission fluid level is OK before following this guide.

Odyssey has 3 sensor that looks the same..in the same place.
Check the transmission fluid dipstick. My Fit started to flash D. Checked the transmission fluid and it low. Added some more fluid and the flashing D went away. I've put a 100 miles on the car since then and no problems. I'm crossing my fingers this worked.

I have a 2010 Honda Fit. I was driving home yesterday, and my check engine light came on, and my D light was flashing. I actually watched this video.
Jetted to AutoZone sure enough the code PO847 popped up. Ordered the part, and had a friend change it out in less than 5 minutes. Here’s the kicker. The original part was barely even screwed in (had no idea until today) so when I hit a bump yesterday it must’ve come a loose.
Long story short car is fix, car isn’t bucking forward, and no check engine light, or D light.

Thank you so much for making this video. It really helped me. It just so happens that I ran into this problem today. I hit something in the road, some metal thing. A few minutes later the D light started flashing. Then the check engine light appeared. Very scary. It went away later in the day. Your video explained what probably happened & put my mind at ease.
My D light came on after hitting curb while parking....No code on my reader though. Light eventually went off.

Never asking dealer or transmission shop for such BS, as it may end up too expensive. When I've had this issue with 2nd gear switch on my 07 Base , I bought a switch from the nearest dealer for $70 (Saturday afternoon). It took about an hour to replace (located behind the battery close to firewall)

I have a blinking D in a honda fit 2007, it also make jumps in 2nd or 3rd gear (not sure), is this a sensor problem, or could be a major issue?
you can try resetting the battery first to see if the light goes away. unhook the battery terminals, press on the brake pedal for 3 seconds 3x, then rehook. if light is still there, you will have to scan the code

Honda dealer wants $160 just to run the diagnostic code for the Check Engine Light.

Hello, my 2009 Honda Fit, which has about 72k miles, just started doing this. It also "jumps," when it's shifting or trying to shift. Does replacing the sensor stop the jumps? Or is it a deeper issue?
Hi Jason, I am unsure--I would get the code scanned first and if its the same code, I would attempt the fix.

@@nehann985 my problem was the solenoid wires were chewed from a rodent. A buddy and me took the upper pieces off and got down to it and saw it. So, I bought a new solenoid, took my car to the local mechanic and he rewired the new one. He charged me about 50 bucks to rewire it. I heard others had the same issue but from a dealer were charged 700. Ugh.
Do the codes P0848 and P0847 use the same part? 28600-RG5-004. If no how can we look up what part is needed for that specific code? Thanks

I have had all the same symptoms. Followed the instructions and replaced the part. I turned the key and the D light was still flashing. Took it on the road and the transmission bucks into only 1st and 2nd. Is this what happened to yours? Mines a 2011 Fit with 115k miles. Am I supposed to do anything else?

@@6ixthstage845 After scanning it was code p0977 "shift solenoid circuit B". I ordered a new solenoid and saved the old pressure sensor. Hopefully this does the trick.

Mine is a 2017 Honda Accord, and sometimes instead of D, I get a blinking 03 indication. Check engine light does not come on, and when I do an OBD scan I don't get any error codes. Any idea what it might be?
Failed pressure sensor 2191J1. Try AutoZone to scan for you if you're in the States to make sure.
Mines is reading P0983 shift solenoid D control circuit high will it work for this ?

i have a honda fit 2004 model i recently changed its gearbox and the ecu and it performed well until now. I get a flashing D light and drive at a high rpm when on low speed. I guess i should try this see if it works

@@6ixthstage845 the blinking D light issue has been sorted out, the only problem that doesnt seem to go away is the high rpm, high revs
@@keffkelvin1508 have you tried resetting your battery? disconnect from both battery posts, hold the brake pedal down 3 times for 3 secs at a time. reconnect the battery and enter your security code from the card that came with your ownership manual.

I noticed d light start blink when the temperature is high
what part did you replace so that i could look for it? i just visited an autoshop and they noticed that the D light is blinking, they told me that my car may have problem with the transmission or the sensor.

My 2005 Honda Fit/Jazz won't engage drive at startup, has to warm up for ages, but reverse engages without a problem. I've reset the ECU, via negative disconnect.
Taking it to the mechanic tomorrow for error code reading..
HOW DIDYOU SOLVE THIS?
@@sekamwaandrew221 Mechanic gave me a readout of about 7 engine warning codes. He said re the forward gears not engaging at startup might be because the auto-trans has rubber seals inside that harden over time, and it might mean they need to warm up before they let the fluid flow, so who knows..
I replaced the hydro engine mount (the one under the battery) and that helped for a short time, but then the trans went useless again. I've found getting it flushed has helped before. There's a metal belt that apparently loses its grip in these trans and you can get a re conditioner that is suppose to help, but I haven't tried it. This > th-cam.com/video/ImrrM_FFFFM/w-d-xo.html

Do you think it would be terrible to drive it with this for a few days before I get it sorted? It’ll just be like 30 minutes a day for the next 4 days. I have a super busy week and will struggle without a car but I don’t want to do serious damage
Lol I'm in the same situation mine started blinking last night. But this morning it's OK. Even when I got on the freeway. But to check engine light is still on. Did your blinking go away or did you have it fixed.
@@1990758 The flashing D went away and so did the check engine light, I took it to a garage a couple days later because it needed a service anyway and they said there was no record of the error. Luckily I took a picture of the flashing D because the guy seemed to think I had imagined the whole thing haha. No idea what was going on but it has been fine ever since.

@@6ixthstage845 so I took it to the “Mr. transmission” shop that told me they thought that was the issue and they said it didn’t fix the issue and didn’t charge me. So they think it’s probably a wiring issue now.. and said to take it to a dealer. Hopefully it won’t cost much
It happened to me today out the blue. Engine light came on, D flashing. Transmission won't shit into 5th gear. 1-4 gears working. I can hear a winey sound. I have a 2008 model.

have scanned the unit and it goes like P1887 is what the scannwr reads? hows that?
Might be a faulty TCC release switch or even a problem on the harness or connection.....

This just happened to me yesterday in my 2008 Honda Fit Sport. I could drive just fine but the final gear never engaged so I was at about 3K RPM at 60mph. No issues other than that.

my drive light blinks when going to 3rd gear it gets stuck in 2nd and rpm just go high i replaced input sensor on transmission but i can’t find were output sensor is located any idea ?? honda accord ex 3.5 v6
also vsa check engine light and abs light comes on
not sure but sounds like a wiring harness issue if all of that is happening.

@@durgeshkhatri8221 have you tried unhooking the battery, resetting the ECU by holding the brake pedal 3x and then reconnecting the battery? make sure you have your radio unlock code or it will lock the car.

it just means your car is driving at a lower gear. short term you can probably drive but it is putting some strain on the engine since at a lower gear, you are making it work harder. you should have it fixed.

I changed the cat and it didn't work, that's not the solution unfortunately
Yesterday my car gear oil pipe leaks i dont no why and all the gear oil bleeds down ...when i shift the gear again to D ..the car was not moving so i immediately turn the car off and call the mechanic ... changed gear oil pipe and also put new gear oil to the car...the gage of gear oil is now full and now my car is moving good as before but today it give me a blinking D flash for 10 seconds then i turn off the car and start it again..then there was no flashing D...also my car gerks in the first few gears ...so wht you think wht will be the problem to my transmission?

The "proper" wrench is not 7/8", it's 22mm. Please use metric tools on metric cars!
