😅 haha yeah I can understand. It’s the thought that put me of as well. Although, it was actually very tasty 🤭 also just a really nice experience to be among the locals 😃 thanks Sue! Have a beautiful start of the week 🤗
Ey Connie 🤗 haha yes I don’t blame you 🤪 although it was very tasty the thought of eating rat is just “weird”. It was also just a very nice extension being with the locals 🥰 I hope you’re having a good start of the week 🤗🙏🏼
Wow, not too sure I’d want to try rat! Just showed this to my friend who is from Ban Na Bua in Udon Thani and she smiled and said “ohh many many rat farms! You want to try? I go to the market! “ Haha no thanks!! Kudos to you Champ!! Keep it going…
Yo Ian! Haha thanks for sharing this to your friend! It’s pretty common in this region 🤩 I actually loved the meat. It’s just a weird though to eat rat but the meat is so tender and tasty! 🤭 thanks again champ 🤘🏼🏆
I’m watching this first thing this morning,,this is real Thai culture Chai, when my friend first went to Cambodia his mates were cooking cobra,,,lost for words if I’m honest,,,, peace and happiness as always
Gudday champ,. Wow, that's a different way to go than the normal. Excellent taking us down that path to a traditional life on the farm. I'm sure the rats were thinking to themselves Why oh Why (me) but then, I guess, man's got to eat eh!! :)
Thanks Sven! It was so nice to check out some different part of Thailand and eating something new :) being among the locals 😁 we are off to Doi Inthanon for a few day’s. Hope to see you soon again 🙏🏼🏆 cheers
Yo Kevin! That’s so funny you make that comparison 😄 I’ve mentioned that to a mate of mine not long ago. If the squirrels had a rat tail they wouldn’t look so cute anymore 😝
LauKau, rice Whisky most are 40 percent, some are 35 percent. Had me a lot of those while staying in Isaan and eating with the family. And i ate a rat also, tasted realy good btw. So i enjoyed watching your vid mate, almost the same as in my Thai family, bringin back some memories 🥳 Thanks mate 🙏 And as always Chai, C Ya in the next one, cheers 🙌🍻
That’s why I love living in Isaan. Everyone is like family. I live in Ubon Ratchathani province over by Laos and many eat rats there. Along with many other things westerners find strange. Came from the days when it was hard to get food and you eat what you can to stay alive. I can’t believe the rude comments people leave about this.
Hi there, great experience to eat a (clean) rat, looks not bad and when its prepared in tasty manner, we cant say its unhealthy or awful. Thai lokals are so awesome, i love Udon Thani ! ...once i eat Guinea pig in Ecuador, didnt know it, but it was sooo good and yummy ! 👍🙏 such is traveling to different rural cultures.....i like
I had Rat curry once it was actually really good. I misunderstood the woman when I asked her what was in the curry. (moo) is pork, (neww) is mouse. Mouse tastes like chicken. I am sure you found the Falang Road with all the bars and drunk expats in Udon Thani city. Good to see you finally got down with the REAL locals.
Haha yes! It’s even better than chicken although it’s just the thought of eating rat that is making me not getting it much more often I think. I’ve not been to that road but I wouldn’t mind having a pint there one day 😉
I told you before but there used to be this nice Indonesian restaurant in Bangkok but it was closed down a couple of year ago (Rhasa Khas). Always went there for a delicious sate kambing. In my opinion Indonesian food is so much nicer than Thai food. What's your favourite Indonesian food?
Thanks mate! Haha I leave that opinion about Indonesia and a Thai food in the middle! 😜 I love sate gambing! Hmmm there’s so much great food! If I have to choose I’ll go for a beef rendang with some sayur lodeh! Cheers mate
It is the unseen local life to the world. Next recommend is "deep fried frog with garlic". It is next level beyond chicken wings. Hope you can find and review its taste also. 😋😋😋
I'm not sure it's called traditional. For me it's called the niche market. 😅😅 yes, I'm an Udorn Thanion. I've suggested you to try frog which one is " Pad Kaprao kob " 🐸🐸🐸
Aaah haha probably it’s a niche market 😝 wow, that’s sounds interesting 😄 I’ll have a try next time. Thanks for your input and advice 🙏🏼🤗 I left already but I really see me coming back one day. Cheers 🏆
I was looking forward to the visiting in the Isaan but this is a disappointment to me I’m from Sichainmai /Nong Khai province Thailand it a little town across from Vientiane Laos in the Isaan I’ve eaten many things growing up there but never have eaten a rats or know anyone in our town that have rat’s farm and just to clarify this is not an Isaan tradition food it may be for certain people or the province that your at or that particular place please do your home work before you portray the Isaan region that way I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with eating or raising rat to sale what ever it is working for them but eating rats it is not an Isaan tradition food hope your mom enjoy the rest of her vacation in Thailand and yes the Isaan people are hard working kind and respectful
Ey Mally, I’m sorry this was a disappointing experience for you. The last thing I wanna do is disappointing or disrespecting the lovely locals of Isaan with this video 🙏🏼 I’ll change the title straight away and I hope you allow me to take a day to change the thumbnail as well. It is definitely common in the areas I’ve been in the north of Isaan to eat Rat 🤗 thank you so much for your feedback. It means a lot to me and the channel 🙏🏼 I hope you’re ok with the new title and thumbnail 🏆 cheers
I eat chicken, pig, cow on a daily basis. I see no moral difference in eating (or killing to eat) a rat, a dog or a bat. It's either i am a vegan or not. And if "not", i don't have a right to judge what other people eat.
Nice one Göker. Well said. I do admire the people who don’t eat meat. Mass production is so said I think and I’m a little embarrassed I’m part of it. This farm is something else thou. They looked like they were having “enough” space. I just hope that one day the mass production of animals will stop. I’m 100% with you champ. No judgment. Let’s start with looking at ourselves 🙏🏼🤗 Have a good Sunday
@@Chai_Travel I know what you mean by "embarrassment". I admit that i share your feelings on the subject. But on the other hand i feel that i'm too old to change the World and bring justice. Some people in the US eat squirrels so I really don't see a difference between them except for a big furry tail.

This is sick it's for sick people.
Why are you saying this?
Anyone that eats rat's are rat's themselves do you eat people as well then hopefully not your family members but with you anything is possible.
So when a rat eats a human it’s a human? 🤔
Disgusting.
Nice comment Steven 👍
