Don't make the mistake mixing up orphan houses and adoption. There is a BIG difference! Many children who were adopted were taken away from the biological parents and sold to foreign families. That is human trafficking! Real orphans don't have parents or have only 1 parent left. In Islam orphan houses exist but adoption is prohibited and for very good reasons! We should take care of the orphans by giving money to orphan houses but we should never adopt a child and especially not a child that was stolen from the biological parents!
Wow Chai, what a blessing man. Not only are you a top travel vlogger and gentleman but also a great son. That's inspiring how she went back to her roots after 60 years 😯 I'm almost 40 and I haven't been back to my place of birth in the Middle East since we left when I was a baby due to war and economic instability, and even now too dangerous there. Maybe one day I'll visit even if it's in another 20 years. Anyway, I really look up to you man, I mean that. I always look forward to your content. We need more pure souls like you on this Earth 🌎 Big love from California 🙏🏻
Your face resembles an Indonesian soccer player of Dutch descent, like Jordy Amat and also similar to Sandy Walsh, of course you and your mother have Indonesian faces.❤
My Opa (grand uncle) and his wife also do that whenever they visit Indonesia, revisit and reminisce where they live when they were just little kid... They lived in Bandung city- Indonesia until their teenage years, before revolution war happened and they were chased away by the Japanese and revolutionary soldier to go back to The Netherlands. Now they are in their 90's just too old and too sickly to do long journey to Indonesia. I wish they are happy and healthy back in The Netherland. The funny thing that I always remember about them is that they always cry in every occation and they really like to kiss us on the cheek and hug us like there is no tomorrow 😂😂, and as a kid by the time, it makes me always wonder if The Netherlands is always very touchy and cry babies 😂😂😂, my Grandma also likes to cry alot, and my reference about Netherlands is just them, My Grandma and My Granduncle... 😂😂😂 Now I know that its the memory that make them that way always crying, always kissing, and always hugging. I think my Granduncle always feel that he lived too far from his homecountry (Indonesia) so everytime he came back, he made sure that he made the best of it, the memory of childhood.. 😂😂
Your grand uncle cried because he missed Indonesia. Indonesia tanah airku. Tanah tumpah darahku. Disanalah aku berdiri. Jadi pandu ibuku. Indonesisa kebangsaanku. Bangsa dan tanah airku. Indonesia was always in his heart. It is his home. No other country in the world can replace home. It is the place where you feel best. No one wants to leave home. For the Indonesians who live in Indonesia it is not a big deal, they don't know any better. But those who left Indonesia for whatever reason they feel the pain, the loss of not having their home anymore.
@@chocolatecookie8571 his Dad (My Greatgrand Dad) was A Belijvers (like Marten Paes's Grandmother) married to a local Mojang from Subang. But he died in the prison, torchured by the TKR until he fell ill and perrished. My Granduncle has different fate, he chose to go back to Netherlands (well he actually got no choice between that or death). My Grandmother were allowed to stay in Indonesia because her second husband was a TKR General, and she was willing to abandoned all her Netherland identity, and convert to Islam. Her life was a rollercoaster, she was a true warrior...
Excellent start to the search and will be an amazing experience for you both as it unfolds. It really is something very special doing this with your mum and I too can feel those emotions. It is real raw stuff and brilliant that you can share it with us. Very sad visiting that orphanage and your mum handled that very well. Looking forward to meeting up with the brother and hopefully grandma as it unfolds. Good luck with getting a DNA as that will likely be vital in verification one way or the other. Great work Chai. 🤩
This is such a heart warming story of your mum and you in Java, and touching at the same time. I can see your mum’s face is lighted with happiness. May God make it easy for you guys to find your relatives in Indonesia. I wish you guys all the best.
i really enjoy your Indonesia video's . Would be good to watch you do another Indonesian series. The people there are just soo lovely. Salam dari Perth Western Australia temanku :)

This is so special. I'm so glad you and your mum have the opportunity to come back home to Indonesia. I am also currently in Indonesia on a similar journey. I hope you are your mum find what you're looking for. Can't wait to see more and go on this journey with you!
Welcome to Indonesia.... In the past, Indonesian families were almost always large families. They can have up to a dozen children. ...(for example, my mom has 11 siblings) even though they are economically unable to survive. That's why many parents give/allow their children to be adopted by economically more well-off families who need children. They hope their child will live a better life.
Semangat Chai ! Menyala 🔥 ! I hope you can find your root soon. I am javanese, born in nearby Solo years ago but living in Bekasi now. If I were nearby, I would be happy to accompany you and your mother. Enjoy your journey !

OMG, your mother's face has no western look at all, your mother's face is very Asian! A mix of Java and Sulawesi, very Indonesian... sorry , of course, she is real Indonesian, the fourth largest country in the world, with more than 17,000 islands and has approximately 700 languages, also has many different tribes but still under one flag red and white ... there is no country in the world like Indonesia, pray that we will be successful with the new capital, Nusantara 🌴🌋🍝🌧️🐬🎶🇮🇩
Bro, you have to eat the delicious roasted duck at rumah makanan Mas Anto in Karanganyar. This is the address: Jl. Raya Solo-Tawangmangu No.Km.8, Karangturi, Triyagan, Kec. Mojolaban, Kabupaten Sukoharjo. There are 2 Mas Anto in this street and both are good but perhaps this one is more famous. This restaurant is a bit further away from Solo. If you drive from Solo to Karanganyar you will find it on the left.
@@Chai_Travel Iya, everyone there knows that place, haha, because the food is so good. There is also a good Bakso restoran with juicy natural flavours on the same side. Big meat balls.
